Physical Description: Patrick is 5�9� and insists he�s still got more to grow. He weighs 150 pounds, is still rather skinny, lacking the filled out appearance that all of the older males in the family have. He�s got his father�s laughing blue eyes, his mother�s wavy hair, and his own, unique (to the family) mousy brown hair.

Personality: Where his older brother�s are serious, Patrick has a fun-loving and curious nature that makes it difficult for him to sit still for any reason. Even his studies as a geneticist are going slowly because he can�t focus well enough. They truly intrigue him, but they just aren�t enough to occupy his mile-a-minute mind. That�s part of the reason he chose to apply to be a Candidate. This will be his first�and only�chance at it, but he�s seen the way the dragonpartners� lives never seem to stop their frantic pace, and he�s decided that it would fit him perfectly. He�s friendly to everyone, never looses his temper, and never gets frustrated; instead he simply moves on to something new.

Background: He has three older brothers and a younger sister, all of which he gets along with, although he�s closest to Moira. His mother is a short, somewhat pudgy woman who is full of energy and affection, and his father is a tall, heavyset man who is firm but just as affectionate as Aidan�s mother. His mother is a skilled baker and his father is an equally skilled veterinarian. The family was all born and at least partially raised in Dublin before Patrick�s father decided to join the settlers bound for Pern. Patrick saw it as a grand adventure and has never stopped viewing it that way.

When they arrived on Pern, Patrick found that there were so many new and wonderful things that he�d never run out of stuff to interest him. He studied everything available to him as a student and finally settled on genetics after long conversations with many of the settlement�s professionals. He is a bright young man, but is a very frustrating student, often putting his intelligence to �fruitless and frivolous� endeavors that have little to do with what he should be studying. He�s hopeful that this last batch of eggs will have a dragon to match his personality.

Pets: As eager as his sister was over the find of a firelizard egg, Patrick was helping to grab and distribute eggs, swiftly pulling three biggers ones aside for himself. Happily, he ended up with three browns, which he named, Larry, Curly, and Mo at his mom�s suggestion (she�d been fascinated by a very old show when she was a young girl). The trio turned out to be the biggest trouble makers of the �O�Connor� fair of firlizards. They enjoyed aerial acrobatics, digging, nesting in things that weren�t theirs, and stealing morsels of food from picnics and other family meals. It took a great deal of effort and time, but Larry, Curly, and Mo have been trained well enough that the rarely steal food, nest only in the scraps of material that have been given to them, and confine most of their mischief to aerial acrobatics.
