Physical Description: Small, about 152 cm in height and weighing roughly 135lbs Nicki is perhaps slightly overweight. She has medium length brown hair, which she would like if it were straight, but to her despair it has a few kinks in it that cause it to curl at the ends, and go frizzy in damp weather. She has brown eyes, and a ready smile.

Personality: Generally patient, something that helps with her job as a teacher. Nicki is known as having a sunny temperament rarely losing her temper, which if she does it's all over and done with quickly and then forgotten about. Generally the flash point is if someone picks on her weight. She's also a bit of a musician on the side, having brought her flute from Earth as one of her treasured childhood possessions. She gets on well with the children, and is capable of disciplining them if needed.

Background: Nicki's father served in the war against the Nathi forces on Earth. Dissatisfied with how things were progressing afterwards, he packed up his family as soon as the call for colonists went out. John's feeling was that his young family would have a better chance away from the crowded place that the island called Britain had become. Since settling on Pern, he had picked out his stake, not far from the landing site and was ready to set up as a horse breeder, only for thread to put an end to it, by killing off his prize stallion, which was caught unprotected in one of the first few falls. He's now trying to restock a much smaller stake, closer to New Landing and where they can be protected.

Nicki meanwhile blossomed on Pern, she found a group of friends, settled in loving the informal schooling that was set up in the first few weeks and months of the colony. The teachers there instilled in her a love of learning and encouraged the teenager to pass on her knowledge to some of the younger children.

Now at the New Landing Settlement, she's settled in as a reasonably good teacher, and has been approached to become a Candidate.
