Name/Nicknames: Moira OConnor/none
Gender: Female
Rank/Position: Apprentice Dolphineer/Candidate
Age: 19
Birthplace: Dublin, Ireland
Physical Description: Moira is 55 tall, 125 pounds,
and still relatively straight and lithe
lookingalthough she is finally starting to fill out
into more feminine curves, much to her relief. Shes
got her fathers red hair and her mothers brown eyes,
which always seem to be twinkling with laughter and
mischief. Shes always had the same soft Irish accent
that the rest of her family has, but as shes gotten
older and learned the art of flirting (much to her
brothers dismay) she has cultivated it so that it is
much thicker than the rest of her family. When she
sings, her voice compliments her mothers nicely as a
low range soprano.
Personality: Moira enjoys anything that has even a
hint of mischief, although shes rarely gotten in
trouble for it. The only time shes ever completely
forward about her intentions is when shes working
with her familys fair of firelizards or with the
dolphins. She enjoys the subtle art of flirting and
manipulating menalthough she tries never to string
them on long enough to hurt them. She enjoys being a
girl, but shes not afraid to jump into a nice rowdy
game of sports and be just one of the guys. Other
than the temper that occasionally gets the better of
her, she is truly her fathers daughter, smiling and
laughing as often as Victor does and enjoying life as
fully as possible.
Background: She had four older brothers, all of which
she is very close to, despite the fact that she
resents their over-protectiveness. Her mother is a
short, somewhat pudgy woman who is full of energy and
affection, and her father is a tall, heavyset man who
is firm but just as affectionate as Aidans mother.
Her mother is a skilled baker and her father is an
equally skilled veterinarian. The family was all born
and at least partially raised in Dublin before Moiras
father decided to join the settlers bound for Pern.
Moira was young enough at the time that she didnt
understand the magnitude of the situation and merely
saw it as a grand travel adventure.
When they arrived on Pern and Moira realized they
could never go back home, she was very upset. She
spent a great deal of her time pouting and stomping
from one part of the settlement to the other. When she
was eight, she began to become more aware of
firelizards, horses, and dolphins. She began splitting
her time between hunting for firelizard eggs and
watching the dolphineers. When she grew old enough,
she began studying with the dolphineers, although she
secretly wished to be able to study firelizards and
nothing else.
When the colonists split into two groups, all of her
family remained in the south. By the time the dragon
project came into being, Moira was well into her
training. She was torn between the dolphins and the
chance to become a dragonpartner; to become the
specialist shed always wanted to be. It wasnt until
she saw the dragonpartners that resulted from the
first batch of eggs that her mind was made up: she
wanted to try for a dragon. She applied for Candidacy
and was at the next hatching. She didnt attract a
dragon, but she knows in her bones that she was born
for this.

If your persona were a song, the title: Just a Girl by
No Doubt
Pets: Moira was so busy passing out firelizard eggs to
her family the day that she finally found a wild
clutch that she only managed to grab one for herself.
It hatched to reveal a perfect brilliantly colored
emerald green lizard, which she named Emmy. Shes
turned out to be very trainable and biddable and much
more intelligent than the average green (although
shes still far from qualifying for the title of
smartest thing with wings).
