Physical Description: Gillian stands at about 5'8, with her slender hands normally on her hips. She is a no-nonsense woman. Reddish-brown hair extend just past her shoulders, and she has chocolate brown eyes like most of her family. Her face is roundish, and she has a cute button nose. Since she doesn't have time for "foolish things", she forgoes all types of makeup. Her style of dress is simple, and is usually something that can be easily changed in a hurry.

Personality: Gillian will not take any flack from anyone. Being the lone girl in a household of boys really taught her to stand up for herself. She has lived a "back to the basics" lifestyle her entire life, and she uses it when practicing medicine. Instead of prescribing complex medicines for children with colds, she's more likely to tell them to get three days of bed rest.

She does yearn for her own family one day, but she's extremely selective in who she chooses for a husband. Only the best will do, and so far Mr. Right hasn't come in her life yet.

She enjoys being right, and when she is proven wrong, she resents it.

Background: Gillian was born in the outreaches of Seattle Washington on Earth. She was the only girl in a whole litter of boys, and quickly had to learn to stand up for herself.

However, most of the time she found retreat by clinging to her mother's skirt. Most of her social skills and common sense are derived from her mother.

From a young age, she always knew that she wanted to be a doctor. She was extremely worried about coming to Pern until her parents told her that they would need qualified doctors there just as they were needed on Earth.

So, when her studies were up on Pern she apprenticed herself right out, and continued with secondary studies at the same time. Most of this period in her life was spent alone. While she is somewhat friendly, she is extremely driven and that tends to drive others away.

Unlike the rest of her family, Gillian was very willing to go up north. She argued for it, but in the end, stayed south because the rest of her family wanted it. She doesn't hold out too much hope for the dragon project, and currently is just focused on continuing her residency. Sometimes, she regrets her decision to stay.
