Name/Nicknames: Circe Joliet
Gender: female
Position: Solar Panel Technician
Age: 46
Birthdate: on old Terra December 15th
Birthplace: Paris, France

Persona Description: Circe is a relatively average woman. She has ambiguously blue eyes as moody as the sky around Landing and a light brown hair color that is beginning to bear traces of silver. Her hair is kept a just shorter than chin length and is usually rapidly outgrowing any semblance of organization. She is not overly into personal maintenance and it is not usual for her short to be wrinkled or her pants to have a stain from something that happened last week and she hasnt done her laundry yet.
Dress: whatever she wants. There is a good bet that the oil stains on those jumpers could be a few weeks old.
Weapons: not on your life.

Background: Circes life was one of mixed love and hate of Paris. As a young girl she thought the city full of mystery and love as well as tortured souls who wandered the streets at night. The duality almost killed her sense of balance. She wanted everything to be overpoweringly good, Paris was not the city to lend that perception.

She grew up disassociated from her parents, an only child of a scholar and his housewife in the 14th arondisement and grew up cynically defending literature and watching the scum of the world creep at night. She developed a fascination with the world at its darkest and eventually as a university student made arrangements through the Sorbonne to attend an astronomy summit in Australia. She stayed on at Ayres Rock Observatory a relatively new station on the continent. She conversely showed aptitude for solar panels. Thus her night-loving persona was forcefully flipped into a sun technology guru something she accepted as cruel fate, as the world must be cruel.

She never wanted to marry, but at age 20, she found herself with child from a rash of sleeping around (now that she had her nights free) and carried her first daughter Madeline to term at age 20. She cynically considered herself too young to be a mother and had no real desire to take care of anyone, unless it was herself. She gave the girl to adoption in Sydney and two years later she had her son, Pierre-Luc, the son was also adopted out. This created a slightly hard place in her heart in regard to children and it has not ever softened.

Her adventure to Pern was another pessimistic venture. They needed solar panel technicians and what the heck? Life couldnt be any worse on a barren wasteland, could it? She was surprised that they all survived the trip in stasis, amazed that her shuttle pilot didnt crash the shuttle she was on and even more amazed at Perns natural beauty. She tried to find everything that was wrong the crawlies, the tunnel snakes, the luxuries that were sadly lacking in those first years.

Her solar panels were in mint condition however, she spent countless hours with her panels. Other than fellow technicians, few people knew Circe Joliet until first fall. Thread spurred a momentarily redeeming trait in Circe she showed her level headedness in emergencies. She managed to gather five mares in the paddock near her panel installation and took cover in a near cave, returning with them once the danger had passed. The devastation to the area once she returned stunned her. Still aloof in most cases, she accepted the thanks of the herders and the colonists for thinking quickly enough to save more precious animals. She has no flitters. Those who can abide by her half empty attitude often find her pessimism endearing ;)

Personality: Circe is quite obviously a cynic. She usually has something pessimistic to say before she has something nice to say. She looks for the negative first; it is her largest fault. She is very distanced and disassociated with kids and really tried to avoid their snotty noses like the plague. She also isnt hugely fond of animals. She will unerringly do the right thing, though and usually with a fatalistic spin on it. If she sees something wrong or illegal, she will say something to someone.

Family: Two grown children on Terra: Madeline (40) and Pierre-Luc (38)

Hobbies & Skills: She is still an avid stargazer, though it frustrates her not to know the stars in her knew home sky. She also is excellent in emergencies a level headed and quick acting, usually with good instincts.

Pets: nope.
