Physical Description: Bianca is rather short and unimpressive. Her slightly wavy, black hair stands out against her pale, very burnable skin. She wears it in a short, boyish cut just a few inches long. Her hair is most often matted or flying in all directions from lack of care. Her face has a hidden cuteness to it buried beneath acne leftover from her adolescence. It is somewhat girlish with small features. She has a short, pointy nose, freckled cheeks, and thin, pale lips. Her eyes are hazel with a slight upward slant.

Only 5'2", her short height unfortunately does not come with a petite frame. Bianca is about twenty pounds overweight, which definitely adds a roundness to her all features. Most her extra weight is in her butt and her bust, although she has a rather poochy stomach. Her plumpness and body shape is more typical on a middle aged housewife, so people often mistake her age.

Bianca has a style suitable for a computer geek. She often wears mismatched and oversized clothes. She wears glasses for nearsightedness because she often can't find her contact lenses and hasn't gotten around to elective eye surgery to correct the problem.

Personality: Bianca's first love in life is computers, so she is known as somewhat of a nerd. She can sometimes be oblivious to the world around her. She can't read emotions or facial expressions, so a lot goes over her head. Large groups make her nervous. She has a tendency to talk fast and ramble on when nervous, mostly trying to make funny or witty remarks that are rather lacking in the humor department. She is fairly talkative in general about computers or piloting, and she can't tell when she is boring her listeners. Bianca is more of an introvert, but she does have some fairly close friends, mostly young men found among the computer crowd. She feels the most at home around the computer labs and regrets that her decision to become a pilot has taken time away from that.

Bianca has a rather large crush on Ronnie Cole, and has for a number years now. Bianca considers herself homosexual but doesn't really think much of it. She has been open about it since she was fifteen. She has never been in a relationship and is rather insecure and incompetent in such things.

Bianca was once insecure about her weight and was rather shy, but she has overcome a lot from seeing a psychologist. She still struggles with self image sometimes, but not nearly as much as she did when she was younger. She has learned to cope by making jokes about herself. Bianca has developed somewhat of a motherly personality, so now she likes to take shy kids under her wing and sort of befriends them. She'd like to raise children someday through artificial insemination or adoption, but she isn't about to become a single parent. She's still holding out for Ronnie, after all!

Background: Bianca was born to parents much like herself: geeky introverts in the computer science field. The d'Abruzzo family, oddly enough, elected to go to Pern to give up technology and become farmers. And farmers they became when they set up their own little farm fifty miles from old Landing. Bianca never adjusted to the primitive lifestyle and hated being away from technology, so she moved in with her older sister in Landing to go to school, and when she was old enough to study computer science.

Bianca nearly lost Jennifer in a sled accident shortly after the first fall. Jennifer was a pilot and a mentor to Bianca, so the injuries certainly weren't easy on Bianca. The young woman, now 17, decided to change her studies. An avid player of computer games while growing up, she developed dexterity and quick reflexes in the flight simulator. When the pass began, Bianca started training as a sled pilot because she enjoyed the thrill and the feeling of contributing, not to mention being like her big sister and role model. Like many of the new pilots, Bianca wasn't ready to give her other skills, so she continued studying computer science. She found "double-majoring" was more work that she anticipated, so she put computer science on a standstill until she completed her pilot training. Bianca was slightly more that rattled when Jessica decided to move north.

Bianca decided to apply as a candidate much for the same reasons she became a pilot. She wanted to do something important that would help the colony, and perhaps even get Ronnie's attention. She was accepted as a candidate because of her experience with piloting and combating Thread.

Physical Description: To Bianca, Panth is the most magnificent creature ever to have existed but in truth there is nothing extraordinary about Panth's appearances. He's average in size compared to his counterparts, although his build is on the thin side. His hide is a dark blue with a few slight variations in shade here and there. His wingsails in particular sport a much lighter shade.

Personality: Panth and Bianca are opposites in many ways. He has many personality traits she lacks: friendly (to other dragons), observant, thoughtful, and easily troubled. He observes the world around him, especially humans, although he generally doesn't speak to people other than Bianca. He finds some things about his existence troubling. Why doesn't he have parents? Why is he the only blue? He has the poor memory typical of dragons, and this frustrates him. He's gradually learning to rely on Bianca to remember things, to probe her mind for answers, although she doesn't have the best memory herself when it comes to anything unrelated to computers and piloting. Bianca has also helped Panth with confidence, although he still harbors a lot of insecurities.
