"R's" has been active in Men's Softball in Madison and the Surrounding area since 1972.  He has had numerous championships and individual awards.  Most recently, he has been a member of the 1998 NAFA "A" World Championship Team with Curve Ball.  There he was selected to the First Team All American Team.  In 1999, he was on the ASA over 40 State Championship team with 51 Classics.  In 2000, he was the ASA over 40 State Champions with Rookies.  He was a Badger State Games Gold Medalist in 2000.  He has competed in NAFA World Series in 1998 - 2001 which included a 7th place finish in 2001 with New Image.

...in 2002, Rick played on the 5th place team at the NAFA 'A' World Series in Salem, Oregon.  He also played on the New Image team that won Gold at the Badger State Games.

...in 2003, Rick was on the New Image team that finished eighth at the NAFA "AA" World Series in Chippewa Falls, WI.  Rick also played in the ASA Class C National Tournament in College Station, Texas.  In Wisconsin, Rick won a second consecutive Badger State Gold Medal, and was on the ASA Class C State championship team. 

...in 2004, Rick was on the New Image team that finished fifth at the NAFA "AA" World Series in Hutchinson, Kansas.  Rick also played on the team that finished second at the Wisconsin NAFA "AA" State Tournament.  Rick helped New Image finish first in the Wednesday Night League.

...in 2005, Rick was on the New Image team that finished 4th at the NAFA AA World Series in Mankato, Minnesota.  Rick was also a member of the co-champion NAFA State Tournament team and the first place NAFA Travel League team.  He was also named Second Team A All World for the NAFA A World Series for Schnied's Bar.
