Ice Fire
Room Tutorial
Most rooms on Ice Fire are member owned and written. Everyone who is a member in good standing is entitled to their own room. The following is meant to be used as a guide to help you obtain and set up your member room.
1. Ask Lavicka for a room. You can either catch her online or send smail to Lavicka to request a room. She is the only one who can give this to you. You should have some idea of what you want to do with your room before you request it, as you will be given only 2 weeks to decorate the room before it will be purged due to lack of interest. Once you have been given the ability to make a room, it does not go away. Please, take all the time you need to think about your room before you jump into it.

2. Once you get notice that you have been given a room, and after you have decided what your room will consist of, type .createroom <your room name as you want it>. This will be the name of your room and will show on the .room list.
Note: Rooms will show on the .room list after the following reboot (about 5am EST daily) from when they were created. IE: If you create your room at 2pm EST, the room will not be available until after the following reboot, or after 5am EST the following morning.

3. Contact Lavicka with your room name. Rooms are automatically set to purge after 30 days (14 days if no room profile is written). Once a room has a profile, the purge date is extended for 3 months, with extensions given every 3 months as long as the room owner is a member in good standing. If Lavicka doesn't have a name to go with the room, no extensions will be given and the room will be gone after the initial 30 days.

4. When your room becomes available, you may enter the room by typing .go <roomname>. Once inside, you can set your room code. This is a string of numbers and/or letters that will enable you (or anyone else you give the room code to) to open and close your room to the public. To set your code, type .code 12345 (Where 12345 is your personal code). All room codes must contain a minimum of 2 characters and a maximum of 5 characters. Room codes can be changed as often as you wish.
Note: Room codes can NOT be retrieved once lost. The DM's don't have any special command to find your lost codes. Keep them as you would any other password. Also, anyone you give your room code to may open or close your room to the public. Be careful who you give your code to (and who they are giving it to).

5. Write a short description for your room. This will show on the .room list after the room name and should tell a little bit about your room. To do this, type .rmdesc <description>. Room descriptions can be up to 45 characters long. You may change the room description as often as you like, but we suggest you pick one and stick with it.
Note: You must be in your room to change the description. You can only change the room description of a room you own.

6. Write your room profile. This is done just as you would enter your personal profile, with each line being entered or edited seperately. To write your room, type .rmprofile <1-15> <text>. Each line may be up to 80 characters long and you can use up to 15 lines of text.

7.
Save your room! Type .saveroom to save any changes you have made to your room. If you do not, all will be lost in the next reboot. No one can retrieve information lost in this manner and you will have to start over.

8. Contact a DM to have your room board erased of setup instructions and contact Lavicka one last time to get your 3 month extension. This is the last time you will need to contact anyone for extensions. As long as you remain a member in good standing, your room will be extended every 3 months.

That's all there is to it!
