mouse says: It depends on the slice of society you're looking at.

Lavicka says: some cultures know nothing about monogomy... theyve always had an 'open door' policy as far as sex in their community or living group is concerned.

Crimson says: For all that the norm in western society is supposed to be the monogamous ideal, we sure don't practice it much

Crimson says: Which is why I say I don't think it's natural

Prophet says: and some kill promiscuous women

Lavicka says: as i see it, were just another animal... i dont know many animals that are monogamous

mouse says: I think perhaps part of the reason for the high divorce rate is folks become unhappy when one person can't be their "everything"

Prophet says: there are animals that mate for life

Lavicka says to Prophet: yes, they do... so what makes the cultures different? tradition?

Crimson says: Absolutely

Lavicka says to mouse: should one person be your everything?

Prophet says: the sun god and such

mouse says: Me personally? Nope.

Crimson says: Very very rarely is it possible

Lavicka says to mouse: then does that mean that everyone who does believe in that way of life is wrong?

Aspinara says: I don't think one person can be 'everyting'... There's so many personality types, and so many lifestyles...

mouse says: Not at all.

mouse says: I can only speak for me... it didn't work for ME.

Lavicka says: ok.. so were all agreed that people view it differently.. we agree that its ok for some to think one way and some to think another...

mouse says: It's a live and let live approach.
