Pizzahouse Poem
come to me
with passion in your
"i love you"
and soul
in your commitment
i will be waiting there
with a slice of pizza
and a diet coke
do you want freedom?
smoke a cigarrette
strength in your kiss?
try your arm
and heart in your embrace?
paint a pillow
sleep and dream
with the stars above
you
tonight
won't you, love?
may the stars keep you until then
power is
in your mind, heart
and hands
together and all
are made of
this life
light from the stars guides
you are strong
in our strength
our vulnerability
and courage
we are borrowing
so let us be kind
have empathy
if there is no certainty how to serve
this humanity
yes, we are the very stuff of angels!!!
carry love
for all
let's evolve
for our enemies'
souls
because "i forgive"
can be the greatest words,
i
feel
let's laugh and cry and wonder
as below
and above
the comets and planets
persist
as ever
perplexing me
as man
the message of an imprinted oath
secret of the ages
a promise to the creator
and i am a mirror telling you you are beautiful
even in the cold cold drear night
exposed
freely
alone
one
like
me
kiss a hippy
hug a poet
punch an actor
sue all lawyers
and
smash all guitars
and at the end of the day
have your pizza and diet coke
for five dollars
yes, you can make it
on five dollars
through this indifferent and cruel life
yes, come sweetheart, come!
and endear yourself to me
we can make it together
i will adore you
i will tell you with passion
"i love you"
and with soul in my commitment
and i see my home ...
right where belong
is right here
in
your
big
shining
eyes
with my slice of pizza and my coke
On.
