Dear Grandmother

Dear Grandmother It is hard, nearly impossible To acknowledge or express How much you have meant to us You are so very dear And such a very special, precious soul Dear Grandmother In time of my most confusion, loss, and hurt You were a supporting friend A caring role model Even for a man Someone to depend on Someone to hold me Someone who loved me And someone to make me smile again You were someone I needed And you were there, my grandmother You were there Yes and I know you are in Heaven now Home again by God Your soul is in blissful sleep awakening For if anyone ever earned their place there Next to God It is you And you are home Home And I believe on you like a star Like a prayer, like a truth I send all of my deepest, purest thoughts and love To you I love you Grandma, and I know you love me too You are home now You are home
