Crew rapport Stardate 54873.1 Captain Cathrine Janeway It may appear an unacceptable risk for some , to take a former Borg on board , but I have taken it upon myself to reintroduce Seven of Nine to humanity. Being in the Delta quadrant has caused me to be creative and I do feel somewhat obligated towards her . The doctor has removed all but the essential implants from her body and has repaired or replaced damaged tissue. As a result of her assimulation she has enhanced motor functions and an increased acuity in one eye. As a Borg she did not sleep , eat or drink and only recently has started to take in food. However , she still needs to regenerate in her alcove. We have left four alcoves operational for this purpose. They are a unit and can not be shut down separately. Through-out the re-adjustment toward individuality , Seven of Nine has shown remarkable progress. When Seven's link to the collective was severed , she had quite some trouble adjusting. On one occasion she tried to escape to what she believed was a Borg resonance-signal. Knocking out several of my crew and destroying the cargo-bay door. During the journey and as a result of a conversation with my science officer , she began to have doubts about wanting to be reassimulated and even began to fear it. As it turned out , it was her parents vessel , partially assimulated. Since then she has shown that she can resist the lure of the Borg collective. Even being able to educate her "child" called One , to attack and distroy a borg vessel. This shows her commitment to this ship and her crew. She has made her first steps toward human relationship in a most unusual way. Apparently she has made friends with Naomi Wildman , the only child on this ship. While she seems to tolerate most of the crew and respects others , she is sensitive and protective towards Naomi. She still does not exept her given name , Annika Hansen , prefering to be called by her Borg designation , Seven of Nine tertiary ajunct of unimatrix zero one. I think we must respect that , as she has said "I have been seven of nine for as long as I can remember" , though it may be uncomfortable for some. We kind of agreed to streamline it to Seven of Nine , she said it was "inprecise but acceptable". Her attitude may appear rude and opinionated at times and she may seem to have a lack of respect for authority. This is more to do with the inability to cope with human interaction and relationships , than any disrespect. On more then one occasion , she has show courage and determination to do good by this crew. She has grown as an individual and will continue to do so. As her captain and her friend , I have found her to be an exemplary member of this crew.
