I have found that friends who live a thousand miles away,
Have added color to my life in written words they say.
They always show more interest, than friends along the street,
Who do not know my thoughts at all, though many times we meet.
I would not trade this priceless gift, for anything on earth,
Because through correspondence,
I have found what friends are worth.

Comments: I have had PD/Agorophobia since I was 22. I am on medication, but recently have gone through a lot of life changes. To begin, I ended a relationship of over a year, moved back with my parents, started a new job, turned 35 this month, and went through the 2nd anniversary of my best friends death all in about a two month period.

My panic disorder has really acted up during these last two months. I go to work everday, which being at work is not bad, it's the drive there that tends to be a problem. Driving in general has once again become a problem. I dont know anyone who suffers from this, and would love to talk to other people who deal with this on a daily basis.

Like I said I'm 35, been divorced for 7 years, and I have no children. I feel right now that my life is on hold. I can't date because I don't feel that any man can understand this disorder, so I choose now not to even try to meet new people. Thanks for your help!!!!!

Comments: I've had anxiety disorder for 22 years but recently started Paxil when life threw me a few curve balls. I am very positive despite my frequent internal struggles for a feeling of security and peace, and believe that no one suffers in vain.

I hope to connect with others like myself for support and would love to be of help to others as well. I know no matter what - every day is a gift. Peace to all of you.

Comments: I am a 36yr old mother of three children ages:6,10 and 11. I was diagnosed with Panic Disorder in 1992. I am presently seeing a Psychiatrist whom I have great respect for . He has gotten me through some rough times from the very beginning.

I am on medication but I feel It is of no use now. I am slowly weaning of of it. I used to go to support groups when it was real bad . Now I just use alot of self talk and read books about it. I am under a fair amount of control with the disorder but I still have my bad moments. I would like to talk to people with similar problems or just someone to get and give moral support! Thanks

I have a wonderful husband I have been with for 20 years. Thank God for him.Anyway, never before have I read so many similar things that other people have. It could be me. It is incredible.I only wish that this was available to me during my deepest, darkest moments. I hope they're gone forever. I would love to correspond with someone in my situation.

Comments: I have had agoraphobia for 10 years. I have much understanding on this condition...just can't seem to push myself to face the fear. I am a very up and positive person. I know it is my own thoughts that scare me.

I wish it was just something I was afraid of, but when it is your own thoughts, this is hard to just put out of your mind. I know I will overcome this and then I want to devote much of my time letting others know how much I believe in them. I will answer all email. I believe in honesty, trust and faith.
