| New England had 2 players on the Dickinson Midgets State Champion baseball team this year. Junior Shawn Nieuwsma played Infield and was a top courtesy runner and pinch runner. Sophomore Mark Kuhn played pitcher and infield. Kuhn pitched three no-hitters in JV play and one no-hitter in Varsity. Nieuwsma scored a run in the state championship game as the Midgets defeated Grand Forks Central 14-4 to become 2001 Class A Baseball State Champions!
