�That�s right! Sign up is ending today, so hurry up and get to Natto Island! Will you be strong enough to earn a match with Ryson?� The screen goes blank as the TV is switched off. �There you have it boys�, we see Goku say, �That�s your next assignment!� We see a gathering of Goten, Recomme, Piccolo, Gohan and Pikkon. �You serious?� shouts the son of Senko, �We get to compete in a world-televised Martial Arts Tournament?� Goku nods, Pikkon jumps in the air, �All right! Wait� damn, all the tickets have been sold out� I wanted my parents to see�� Goku smiles and then looks serious, �This is the best shot we�ve had to get straight to Ryson. He�s holding this Tournament because he Dragon Ball hunt is failing due to people unwilling to give his army information. This a publicity stunt to raise their public image as a new friendly faction� We need to stop this, and the best way is to get to Ryson.� Goku�s words cause everyone to nod in acceptance, Goten responds, �So� Do we kill him?� Goku thinks and says, �No� that doesn�t seem necessary just now, we don�t know what his goal is exactly. He might have a just cause to gather the Dragon Balls and just went about it the wrong way� All we need to do is disband his army, and beating him easily in front of a worldwide audience will help. I�m sure he�s filled the tournament with his own men who he expects will go to the final and face him. It�s up to you guys to stop it! Now go to Natto Island and sign up, quickly!� Everyone gives one final nod and flies from the Floating Palace. We then see two men walking down a corridor. One has short brown hair and stubble, the other is quite tall with slicked back black hair, they are both wearing fancy military garb with the Shadow Law Army logo on it. They enter a room with a large chair that facing out of the window, �Come in�� a voice says as a hand is waved from behind the chair, �I take it it�s some good news Vice�� The brown haired man responds, �Yes sir. The tournament sign up is under way and it seems we will be filled with the strongest warriors.� The other man continues, �Yes, we have Nyko at the sign up desk sensing the people�s powerlevels. Only the strongest will be signed to the final 16.� The man behind the chair leans back, �Good news Carter. Now go get ready. I want either you, Vice or Nyko looking at me when the final comes about. Go.� They both bow a little and say, �Yes Ryson.� They leave and we see Ryson looking out the window at the crowd of people gathered at the sign up desk, �Poor fools��
2. Inter-Galactic Gathering
�Mr. Psalm! Mr. Psalm!� we see a young girl shouting as she runs across a grassy field, �I�ve got this for you!� We see a man walk from a cave, he has a scruffy beard and his clothes are torn and dirty, he�d clearly been roughing it for a long while. �What is it dear?� he says as he reads it, �The Shadow Law Martial Arts Tournament?� he wonders, the girl jumps up and down, �Yeah! You�re the strongest in the world! I know you can win!� Psalm smiles and starts to think, �This could be a good chance to test my self-control�� Psalm rubs the top the girls head, �Okay, I�ll do it.� The girl starts jumping up and down again as Psalm lifts up his previously obscured right arm to reveal the Keibatsu Arm Guard. We then see the familiar site of a ship hovering above Earth, this time containing Tooma and his troops. Tooma is looking out of the window �Sigh� damn politics. If Kaditsu, Bardock and Tolow got killed on this planet, what chance do I have?� The ship breaks into the atmosphere and starts to land. We then see two people training with kendo staffs, one removes his mask as clearly his master walks in, �I here you have entered the Shadow Law Tournament Doken.� The man who removed his masked nods, �Yes Master Tairen, I made it to the final drawing and I�m confident I shall be picked.� Master Tairen looks confused; �You know you cannot use weapons in this tournament.� Doken nods, �This will be a test of my overall skill.� Tairen nods and looks pleased as he walks away. �Here it is!� we see Recomme shout as the Z Warriors land on Natto Island. �Right, lets sign up and find a place for the night.� Says Gohan as he and Piccolo walk into town. Goten and Pikkon soon follow, leaving Recomme standing, �Okay� Am I the only one excited about this?� Recomme catches up to them as we then see Ryson still looking out the window, �Ah Nyko� � He thinks to himself as he sees the blonde-haired soldier at the sign up booth, �It�s just a matter of weather you come third, second or first�� Suddenly Vice walks back into the room, �Sir, we have lined up two possible candidates for the Jr. Division that should win easily. They�ll be paid extra to really show you �love� after they win. Should help our publicity no end!� Ryson nods, �Good. Put them both in, it should make for a better final.� Vice nods and leaves. Suddenly Ryson senses a large gathering of powerlevels and sees the Z Warriors walk up to the sign up desk, �Hmmm� this should be interesting��
3. The Good, The Bad, and the Bizarre!
Goten spots Ryu walking away from the sign up desk, �Hey!� Goten shouts, Ryu smiles back, �I was hoping you guys would enter. This should be really interesting.� Recomme smiles and says, �So� how does this work? I mean� there are a lot of people here�� Ryu soon replies, �Well, that large blonde man apparently senses powerlevels and writes down the strongest. At the end of the day the strongest 16 make it through.� Piccolo looks surprised, �That seems easily fixed� but hey.� Ryu smiles, �That�s what I thought, but I got through, so he must be right.� Ryu walks into gathering of people, �All of these people were deemed worthy of one of the 16 spots. We have to wait until everyone has signed up.� Recomme signs first and Nyko nods, �He is exceptionally strong. You pass.� Recomme brushes it off, knowing he would anyway. This angers Nyko; Recomme turns around and joins Ryu in the group, �These guys made it?� Recomme wonders to himself as he sees a man with an over-the-top villain get up waving his cape around, as well as a man dressed in a bright red suit and hat standing next to a man in a bright blue suit and hat. Recomme then spots a man in traditional fighting gear as well as Doken �They�re not bad.� He thinks, he then spots a man in a leather jacket without a shirt on underneath and a cowboy hat, �Strange� that guys aura is different�� Goten is the second from last Z Warrior to sign up and after he does he spots Kakarotto in the cue behind him. Goten is about to say something but decides not to, �He still has that same �leave me alone� look he�s had since he left home�� Goten then hears Pikkon shout �What!?� Goten asks what the trouble is, �They�ve put me in the Junior Division!� Goten laughs, �Sorry. Those are the rules!� Pikkon storms off with Goten and joins everyone else. We see Tooma�s ship land on the outskirts of the Island. �Sir, this is where the Tournament is taking place based off of the transmission we intercepted on the way here.� Tooma gulps and then recoups, �Okay. Thank you Douko. I shall sign up and make my announcement and power public knowledge!� Tooma flies towards the sign up desk. A man stops him, �Sorry, you�re too late. The line ends here and we�ve had enough entrants to please Ryson�.� Tooma shrugs, �The line ends there? Okay.� He charges up some Ki into his hand and drives in through the man at the back of the cue, and then throws him backwards. Tooma enters the line and smiles, �Problem solved.� We see Psalm sign up and pass, followed by Tooma. Goten eyes Tooma for his earlier action as Psalm freezes when he sees Recomme and has a hard time controlling his power, causing some people in the group to move away. Piccolo sees him and thinks to himself, �This should be some tournament!�
4. The Final Sixteen
�Attention! Attention everyone!� the man at the sign up desk shouts, �The Jr. Division has had a smaller turn out than expected, so will be open for applicants until 9pm tonight. As for the Adult Division, here are the final 16.� Everyone gather expectantly apart from Kakarotto and the Z Warriors, who are more than confident they can make it. �The first three spots go to Nyko, Vice and Carter of the Shadow Law Army.� The crowd boos, the man nervously continues, �Followed by Doken, Kessen (the man in the traditional garb), Dee Lei (The man in the leather jacket) Mr. Blue (Guess who!), Erm� Evil Dr. X of the Dark Moon?� the crowd laughs as the strange villain throws his cape around and says, �You fools don�t know the terror of the Dark Moon! Evil Dr. X away!� he runs off to more laughs, �Anyway, Ryu, Recomme, Gohan, Piccolo, Goten, Kakarotto, Psalm and Tooma. The rest of you� better luck next time, I�m sorry.� A load of warriors walk away angry and disappointed. Everyone starts talking, Goten says he�ll scout the area before going to the hotel, Recomme says he�ll treat Pikkon to an ice cream, they walk away with Recomme saying they�ll both have trophies tomorrow. Ryu says he�ll show them the hotel and walks away with Gohan and Piccolo. Goten walks down a back alley to see a kid being pushed around by two older kids. �Cut it out Dollen! Stop it Fent!� the poor kid shouts as he is pushed to the ground, �Awww, what�s a matter? Is Tenchi scared?� Tenchi starts to crawl away with a tear in his eye as Goten walks up behind the two bullies, �Excuse me�� Goten mutters, getting their attention, �What?� replies Fent, �Well, I couldn�t help noticing that you�re being complete bastards. I would like you to stop it.� Dollen pushes Goten, at least tries to, �So what are you going to do about it old man?� Goten looks confused, �Old man? I�m not even 30 yet�� he thinks to himself. �Bah, forget this, let�s get him!� Fent draws out a knife and they lunge at Goten, Tenchi screams for him to run away. Goten dodges Fent�s knife attack and punches him in the gut, flooring him. He then blocks all of Dollen�s attempted punches and chops him in the neck to K.O him. Tenchi looks amazed. �Wow� So cool!!� he thinks to himself, suddenly a woman comes running down and helps Tenchi up, �Tenchi! I told you not to go down this way!� she shouts, �Sorry mum�� Tenchi replies, �but this man saved me!� Tenchi�s mother looks at Goten, �Thank you so much� At least let me treat you to some dinner. I insist!� Goten thinks, �Well� okay I guess.� Tenchi looks excited. �You�re so cool!� he shouts, making Goten laugh as they walk down the street.
5. Saiyajin Skirmish
We see Ryu, Gohan and Piccolo talking while walking up a mountain road, �Are you sure the Hotel is this way?� asks Piccolo; �I thought I was�� replies Ryu. Gohan stops as he looks through some tree to spot the Saiyajin spaceship. Gohan calls the other two back as he draws his sword, �What is it?� asks Ryu, Piccolo thinks, �That female� she looks like Saja, the female Saiyajin I saw during the whole Majin battle. It must be another ship full of them.� Suddenly they get blasted at from above by Douko and the other male Saiyajin � Jin. �Nope, just the four of us this time!� The female walks up to Piccolo, who along with Gohan and Ryu is now in front of the ship ready to fight, �That female Saiyajin you saw was my sister. I am Sanja and I want revenge!� Sanja fires a blast at Piccolo that he deflects; she shrugs and turns Super Saiyajin. A now Super Saiyajin Douko and Jin are now fighting with Gohan and Ryu. After a short skirmish Tooma arrives and shouts, �Hey! I didn�t give you orders to fight!� Everyone stops, out of confusion more than anything. �Now save it for the tournament�� Piccolo smiles at Tooma�s last sentence and says, �You� Well, I look forward to humiliating you in front of the entire population. Maybe that�ll stop you guys from invading all the damn time.� Piccolo, Gohan and Ryu slowly back off and walk away. The three Saiyajin look disappointed, especially Sanja. �I�m sorry. I promise after the tournament you can kill whom you wish. I�m actually looking forward to this tournament now and I don�t want it ruined.� Sanja nods slowly. We then see Goten blocking some kicks from Tenchi in the back garden of his house. Tenchi�s mother looks on with a smile. They take a break and have a drink, �You�re quite strong you know. I bet you could go all the way in the Junior Division tomorrow.� Tenchi looks excited, �Really?! Well I wanted to, but I get to nervous.� Goten thinks for a second, �I see. Is that why you didn�t stand up to those two guys behind the alley? Because, you know you could have beaten them easily with the skill you�ve shown.� Tenchi nods, Goten thinks for another second, �You know the best way to conquer your fears is to tackle them head on� Let�s sign you up for the Jr. Division!� Tenchi looks excited and nervous at the same time.
6. Tournament Eve
�You�re just in time sir, we�re closing in ten minutes.� Says the Tournament operator at the sign up desk, �Thank you and good luck in the tournament tomorrow!� Tenchi nods and walks back to Goten, �I�m not so sure�� Goten gets on one knee and looks at him, �Tenchi, trust me. I know how nervous it can be. Hell I was eight when I won the 28th Tenkaichi Budokai. I don�t know if you�ve heard of it but there�s a place in this world there that Tournament is held annually and�� Tenchi interrupts Goten suddenly, �That was you!! I read about that. I have a book about the Tenkaichi Budokai and read about the amazing eight year old that won it� Do you still have the Subeta Katana?� Goten nods, �Yeah, it�s up in my place. I normally don�t go anywhere without it, but since weapons aren�t allowed in the Tournament I left it with my father.� Tenchi looks really excited, �Wow� Say Goten, can you stay with us tonight and come to the Tournament with me? I don�t know if I�d have the guts to do it myself�� Goten nods, �Sure thing.� As they walk away Tenchi asks another question, �Aren�t you nearly 30?� Goten nods, �� and you still live with your parents?� Goten stops and thinks, �Well, my father is the guardian of� the� Come to think of it� Oh shut up.� Tenchi laughs as they walk back. We then see Recomme lying on a bed in the hotel with Pikkon watching the TV in the background. The phone rings, �Yeah?� Recomme says rather bluntly after picking the phone up. We see Recomme nods and say �Yeah� and �Yep� a few times and then put the phone down. �Hey Pikkon. That was Goten, he�s staying somewhere else with some strong kid he found. HEY!!� Pikkon is mesmerized in front of the TV, Recomme turns it off. �Oh come on Recomme, I thought you were cool�� Recomme looks annoyed, �That�s not going to work a tenth time buddy. Let�s go and tell the others and cancel Goten�s room� Then we can watch TV�� Pikkon leaves with Recomme. Recomme bumps into Kessen in the hallway, �Oh hey, aren�t you in the Tournament too?� Kessen just walks past. Recomme shrugs and knocks on a door and Piccolo answers. We then see down a few floors Psalm is meditating and trying to keep his power under control. We then suddenly see the sun rise and the day of the tournament has finally arrived.
7. Gather for the Tournament
We see Goten and Tenchi arrive at the stadium, �So where does your mother work if it�s so important she can�t attend?� asks Goten, but before Tenchi can answer Recomme shouts hey from the locker room entrance next to Piccolo, Gohan, Ryu and Pikkon. Tenchi is very shy walking up to them but Goten does all the introducing. As Tenchi talks with Recomme and Gohan, Pikkon asks how strong he is, Goten replies �Well put it this way, if he overcomes his nerves you should have a great opponent today�� Pikkon looks excited for the first time since he was told he�d be in the Jr. Competition. Everyone walks in and sees two locker rooms, one for adult and one for the Jr.�s. Pikkon and Tenchi leave, but not before Goten gives him some final advice to overcome his nerves and try his best. Everyone else walks into the Adult locker room and looks at the competition. �Man, it seems we were the last ones here�� mutters Recomme, who walks past the meditating Psalm, causing him to expel some of his power again before getting it under control. Recomme looks confused and walks off. �Maybe this wasn�t such a good idea after all�� Psalm wonders to himself. We see in the middle of the ring the announcer getting the large audience and the people at home excited with his hype and promises, and then reminds everyone that this is all thanks to the new and improved Shadow Law Army. As he says this Ryson stands up in his private sky box and salutes the crowd, who cheer. �It is now time for out Jr. Competition!� we see the Jr. locker room, most of them seem a push over. Tenchi then looks worried when he spies Dollen and Fent. Pikkon asks what�s wrong, Tenchi explains. Pikkon laughs, �Come on, you can beat those guys.� He says, Tenchi still looks nervous, �That�s what Goten said, but�� Pikkon shakes his head, �No buts man, you can do it. Look, they�re doing the drawing.� We see the random drawing take place, Pikkon gets number 8 and is paired with Fent, Tenchi gets number 3 and is paired with Dollen. Goten, Recomme and the rest of the Z Warriors are watching from the Adult ring entrance, �Dollen� I think that was the name of one of those bullies from the alley� This is the perfect test�� Goten thinks to himself.
8. The Jr. Division begins!
We see a young lad named Maine beat another kid in the opening round, we see Ryson thinking, �Maine, that�s one of the kids Vice picked out�� We see Vice, Carter and Nyko looks from a view hole in the adult locker room, �Just as I planned.� Says Vice. Tenchi is up next and walks out slowly, he is still very nervous despite Pikkon saying he�s got nothing to worry about. Dollen laughs, �You? I�ve got you? Hahahaha!� Tenchi looks like he�s about to run when he spies Goten in the adult entrance, all the Z Warriors are cheering him on, with Goten nodding and smiling. Tenchi takes deep breath as the drums slowly pick up tempo from the start of the round, �I can�t let everyone down�� Tenchi thinks to himself. A large gong is sounded and Dollen starts running, �This time I get to beat you up in front of the world!� Tenchi gets a serious look on his face and dodges Dollen�s attempted punch and counters with a punch to the gut that sends Dollen flying back the way he came from. Dollen looks confused and then scared as Tenchi dashes across the floor and flying kicks him hard out of the ring. The crowd goes nuts, as does Pikkon, Goten and the rest of the Z Warriors. Tenchi smiles and bows to the audience before running back to the Jr. locker room. Pikkon pats him on the back, �See! I can�t wait to face you in the finals now�� Tenchi still looks a bit nervous but has a smile on his face. In the next round a boy named Namo beat the only girl entered in the competition with out hassle. �And there�s the other one.� Says Ryson. We see Vice smile. We then see Pikkon easily toss Fent out of the ring and win his fight. The first Jr. Semi-Final begins and Tenchi is up against Maine. Tenchi is looking more confident. Maine comes in and hits Tenchi down, but to his surprise Tenchi flips back up and levels him with a kick. Maine and Tenchi exchange a few blocks and kicks before Tenchi sweeps him and then kicks him into the air. Maine, not knowing how to fly yet, free-falls to the outside of the ring. Everyone goes nuts again, apart from Ryson who looks angry and Vice who is in a state of shock. Next we see Pikkon eliminate Namo with ease again and walk off. We see Vice once again with his mouth wide open and Ryson crushing a drink in his hand with anger. �Up next: The Jr. Division Final!�
9. Pikkon vs. Tenchi: The Jr. Division Finale!
Pikkon and Tenchi take center stage as they arrive in the ring. They bow to each other as the drums pick up tempo, �Are you ready? Remember, don�t hold back!� says an excited Pikkon, Tenchi nods. The gong sounds and Tenchi and Pikkon disappear then appear in mid air exchanging a fast combination of kicks and punches. The crowd rises to its feet in awe and excitement. Even the Z Warriors look surprised. Pikkon fires a Ki blast and Tenchi dodges out of the way, just. Tenchi then fires one of his own, Pikkon dodges it, then notices it�s heading towards the crowd, Goten appears and knocks it into the air and land back near the entrance way. �Not learned how to control your Ki blasts yet, huh?� Tenchi nods at Pikkon�s words, �No problem, we�ll just have to forget them!� Pikkon and Tenchi go back to fighting mid air. We see Vice arrive in Ryson�s skybox, �Sorry sir, but they�re putting on one hell of a show, you posing with them will probably be better P.I.!� Ryson looks mad again, �It�s not that its turned out bad, it�s because you failed. Your had a plan and it didn�t work� Now go back to the locker room before people get suspicious!� Vice nods and walks out. We see him after the door closed with a look of anger; he takes a deep breath and walk down the stairs. Back to Pikkon and Tenchi, who are now battling in the middle of the ring. Tenchi kicks Pikkon near the edge, but he hangs on and moves across the side of the ring on his tiptoes. Tenchi moves in for the kill, but Pikkon ducks under and boots him in the air. Tenchi goes for a punch but Pikkon appears above him, �Sorry Tenchi, but we�re not holding back, remember?� Pikkon hits a double axe handle sending Tenchi towards the outside of the ring, Tenchi regains control before hitting the floor, but Pikkon appears again and does the same once more. This happens a few more times before inevitably Tenchi hits the floor. Pikkon wins the Jr. Division. Everyone rises to their feet in applause; we see Sagat and Mary, who were at home watching, throwing a fit for their son winning. Pikkon helps Tenchi up and into the ring and they shake hands. The crowd once again throws a fit, we see Recomme celebrating and Goten with a smile on his face. Ryson comes down and shakes both of their hands and poses for a few pictures, Pikkon whispers in his ear, �You�re going down today Ryson, we�ll make sure of it.� Ryson looks confused, as does Tenchi. Ryson walks off as Pikkon is given his trophy. They eventually walk to the adult locker room and start talking with all the adults. �Next up!� shouts the announcer, �The Drawing for the Adult Division!�
10. Drawing Numbers
�First up to draw a number: Doken!� Doken walks up and draws a number to polite applause, �Number 12!� Doken goes back. �Now: Nyko!� Nyko walks out to booing, as they know he works for the Shadow Law Army, he draws his number, �Number 15!� Nyko walks away, �Next Up: Piccolo!� Piccolo walks up, we hear someone say, �Isn�t that the top student from Kakarot�s Gym?� We see Kakarot at home with his wife Onna watching on the TV, �Good luck�� Onna says with a smile on her face, Kakarot looks serious, �I hope he beats the hell out of Kakarotto, maybe that�ll bring the boy round�� �And Piccolo has drawn Number 3!� Piccolo walks away. �Up next�� we cut a few drawings to Recomme picking his number, �Mr. Jericho is Number 6!� Upon hearing Recomme�s last name we see Psalm loosing control of his power again, he runs away to calm down, we then see Senko and Sakura at home watching on the TV. Goten draws his number next, �Number 9! That puts you against� Evil Dr. X of the Dark Moon� how do you feel?� the announcer asks, Goten scratches his head, �Hmmm� Confident.� Goten walks away and the crowd applauses, we see Goku and Marron watching the Tournament as well, �Well, at least we know Goten will get to the second round!� We then see another skip of time to the last drawing, which is Gohan, �That obviously leaves you with Number 7!� Gohan walks away. �Okay ladies and gentlemen! Here are our first round matches! Up first is the mysterious Dee Lei vs. the powerful Ryu! Match Two is the Kakarot Gym student Piccolo up against our own Shadow Law Army Member Carter!� The crowd boos Carter�s name, �Match Three sees the appropriately named Mr. Blue against the young fighter Recomme! Match Four sees Gohan against Psalm! Match Five sees a former winner of the infamous Tenkaichi Budokai tournament Goten against the bizarre Evil Dr. X of the Dark Moon!� the crowd laughs as Goten look embarrassed, �Match Six sees the vicious Tooma against the proud warrior Doken! Match Seven is between Shadow Law Army�s Vice and Kessen, the silent warrior! Then finally Match Eight is the son of Kakarot himself, Kakarotto, against the final Shadow Law Army member in the tournament: Nyko!� The crowd booed both SLA members, we see Ryson sitting in his skybox, �I knew I should have fixed the drawing, now Vice and Nyko will meet in the second round�well, as long as one of them make it to me I�ll be okay.� �Okay! Without further delay let�s get the first ever Shadow Law Army World Martial Arts Tournament going! First up welcome our fighters Dee Lei and Ryu!� They walk to the middle of the ring, we see Vice and Carter looking surprised, �It�s definitely him�� says Carter, Vice nods, �Yes, he was the guy who joined our Master�s Secret Arts gym just as we were leaving. I wonder what he learned��
11. The Strange Powers of the Secret Arts Gym
The drums beat as Dee Lei and Ryu look into each other�s eyes with a cold stare. Ryu then gets into an attacking stance as the gong sounds to begin. Dee Lei doesn�t move, so Ryu flies in and lands a large punch to the side of the head� Dee Lei doesn�t move. �Heh, sorry pal. This is a little demonstration of my power� Now I�d run away!� Ryu jumps back and look confused. Dee Lei is no bigger than him, so how did he withstand such an attack? Dee Lei has his eyes closed and a smile on his face. Ryu shrugs and starts to pound his gut as hard as he can, Dee Lei opens his eyes and sees what�s going on, �Oh crap! No!� Dee Lei hits Ryu away and starts to fight back, �Damn it, why couldn�t you just leave, I�ve got the whole tournament to go through!� Ryu fires a blasts at his face, it does nothing, but now Dee Lei is in a real panic, �Damn it!� Dee Lei fires a large one-handed Ki blasts that Ryu tries his best to block, but it shoves him to the floor outside of the ring, �Ring out! Dee Lei is our winner!� The crowd, somewhat confused, gives Dee Lei some light applause. �I hope this first round drags on for a while� I�m going be feeling this fight later!� Dee Lei walks back to the locker room as Ryu in helped back in as well. �He�s either really strong� or Master had fun with his name�� Carter says to Vice, who nods in agreement. �Next up! Carter against Piccolo!� Piccolo walks to the ring with confidence and Carter soon joins him. They both have smug looks on their faces as the drums countdown to the gong. The gong sounds and they clash in the middle of the ring and start to exchange punches and kicks. Piccolo gets the better of the exchange, much to the surprise of Carter, �Ah yes, you have trained well with Kakarot, haven�t you? Well, I guess I�ll have to show you something.� Carter starts to focus his energy into his hand and produces a sword made of Ki energy, �I can control my Ki into any shape thanks to my Master!� He charges at him and starts to attempt to slice him. �Ladies and Gentlemen I have been informed that due to the fact that the sword is made of Ki energy from Carter�s own body, it counts as an attack, not a use of a foreign weapon!� Piccolo hears the announcement and simply says, �Great�� Piccolo climbs higher into the sky and watches as Carter flies towards him, �That�s right, come this way�Big Bang Attack!� Carter stops as the attack heads towards him. He throws his Ki Sword at the attack and it blows up in mid air, the resulting winds knocking Carter hard into the ring.
12. Carter�s Dirty Tricks
Carter shakes his head, trying to get rid of the daze caused by Piccolo�s attack. �I didn�t see that coming�� Carter says to himself as he sees Piccolo land in front of him. Carter gets up slams his hands together before drawing them back to reveal a circle made of Ki, which Carter throws into the air, drawing a rope of Ki attached to it. �A Ki lasso?� Piccolo wonders, Carter spins it around his head and throws it towards his foe. Piccolo dodges it with ease and smiles, �You have to do better than that�� Carter smiles as the circle suddenly flies upwards and surrounds Piccolo, becoming tightly wrapped around him. �Did you really think I�d make such a mistake?� Carter says with a smug grin. He then pulls Piccolo into the ring floor, causing a large explosion. When the dust settles Carter strolls up to the fallen Piccolo to see his damage. Suddenly Piccolo jumps up and punches Carter across the ring and nearly out, �What the hell!?� shouts an angry Carter as he sees a damaged and exhausted Piccolo stand before him. �Very well then�� Carter throws his right hand in front of him and small beams of Ki come from his finger tips and cut Piccolo across the arms and legs, they then fly upwards and do the same to the front and back of his torso. Carter flies in with a kick to the chest and Piccolo finally falls out of the ring. �Here is your winner: Carter!� the crowd boos but Carter doesn�t care. We see a pleased Ryson looking on. Piccolo is helped to the back and gets a round of applause for his efforts. �Next up! Blue vs. Recomme!� Recomme and the all-blue wearing Blue take to the ring, Recomme looks embarrassed. �Great� at least I didn�t draw that Dr. X guy�� Recomme thinks to himself. The drums beat and the gong sounds and Blue jumps into the air and lands a chop to Recomme�s neck� he doesn�t flinch, �Why are you even here?� Recomme asks, �I� I�� Blue jumps back and starts to whisper, �I work for the government as a secret agent! I�m investigating the Shadow Law Army, so you have to let me win!� Recomme�s eyes roll into the back of his head, �That�s the worst excuse ever. If you work for the government how come you�re making yourself stand out like a saw thumb?� Blue smirks, �Me and Agent Red over there are in the perfect disguise BECAUSE we look to obvious to actually be agents!� Recomme laughs, �Oh! Well, it�s all being sorted by the guardian of Earth anyways so� go away.� Blue shakes his head, �No! I must�� Before he can finish his sentence Recomme flies in and punches him in the gut, causing him to go flying into the stands and coincidently landing on Agent Red. �Winner: Recomme!� Recomme walks back to the locker room to applause �Roll on quarter finals��
13. Psalm: The Mysterious Warrior
�Next up! Psalm vs. Gohan!� They both take center stage as a crowd member says, �I hope this fight is better than the last one�� The drums sound and both shake hands. We see Senko watching at home and saying �Hey! He has a Keibatsu Camp arm guard on� this should be good!� The gong sounds and they exchange heated punches and kicks as they ascend into the air. Gohan then beats Psalm in this exchanged by hitting him to the ring floor. Psalm looks up and is pleased, �It�s been so long since I�ve had a fight like this!� Psalm jumps back into the air and once again they exchange punches. Gohan gets knocked back by a sudden palm blast by Psalm and smiles, �Like that is it?� Gohan fires a Kamehameha that Psalm just blocks, although still takes damage. As Psalm lowers his guard to look in front of him he sees Gohan flying in as he does the simple punch and kick combo that knocks Psalm to the floor, but Psalm recovers in mid-air and flies to the ring floor instead. The crowd applauses as Gohan lands in front of Psalm, �Ready for round two?� Gohan wonders, we see Goten looking confused, �Since when did Gohan have � well, a personality?� Recomme shakes his head with a smile. Psalm regains his stance, �Energy Form!� he shouts as the familiar aura surrounds him. Before Gohan can react Psalm appears before him and starts to do rapid-fire punches and kicks and before you know it, Gohan is on the floor eliminated. Psalm�s aura fades and he tries to regain his breath. Gohan gets to his feet, still confused as to what really happened and shakes Psalm�s hand, once again to rousing applause. The two walk to the locker room again. �What a great match that was ladies and gentlemen! Up next is Goten, making his return to tournament competition from all the way back in the 28th Tenkaichi Budokai, a tournament he won when he was just eight!� The crowd sound impressed as they give his a round of applause and some cheering, �His opponent is the� oddly named� *cough*� Evil Dr. X� of the Dark Moon�� Evil Dr. X runs down to the ring and jumps in, once again he starts doing strange posses. Goten smiles �It�s like receiving a bye to the quarter finals!� he thinks to himself. The drums sound and gong rings and Evil Dr. X is still posing and making strange sounds. Goten shrugs and punches the air, causing a large gust of wind that knocks Evil Dr. X clean out of the ring. The crowd laughs and Goten shrugs his shoulders again before leaving. �Your winner: Goten!� �Next up: Tooma vs. Doken!� They both take center stage and wait for the gong to sound. As it does Doken comes charging and starts to hit Tooma with a variety of different punches and kicks, but Tooma manages to avoid most of them, �What�s going on?� Doken wonders to himself, �Maybe I should just stick to weapons� No! I must prove myself!� Doken fires a Ki blast that Tooma hits away with ease. Tooma then fires a large blast that engulfs Doken, but leaves him unconscious rather than dead. �Your winner, by knockout, Tooma!� Tooma walks back and thinks to himself, �Hmph, I didn�t even have to go Super Saiyan. This should be a breeze.�
14. The End of the Opening Round
�Up next! Kessen vs. Vice!� They both walk to the ring; Vice has a smirk on his face, �Kessen� The Silent Traveler type huh?� Vice sniggers as a gong sounds. Kessen jumps backwards and fires a large barrage of Ki attacks, but Vice just stands there. Kessen stops in shock, which costs him as Vice then fires a blast back. To Vice�s amazement Kessen moves out of the way with lightning quickness. �I guess you�re not just in for laughs.� Vice says calmly, �I can sense your dirty Ki before it even leaves your body.� Kessen replies, �I can dodge anything your evil body can throw!� Vice tries a few more times, each time not landing a hit. Vice shakes his head, �I don�t believe it. I guess I�ll have to use part of my Secret Art to defeat you�� Vice concentrates on his palm and creates a black ball of Ki. �What�s going on? That attack has no power� no Ki�� Vice smiles, �This is undetectable by anything other than the human eye, that�s why I call it my Shadow Ball!� Vice throws it and Kessen tries to move out of the way, but is too slow and gets hit full force. His body is surrounded by black lightning for a while before he falls to floor unconscious. �Winner by knockout: Vice!� The crowd boos as he heads to back. �Okay! What an opening round it�s been, but it�s not quite over! Let�s hear it for our last two contestants: Nyko and Kakarotto!� Nyko and Kakarotto lock eyes in the center of the ring, �So� The son of the legendary Kakarot. I�m looking forward to this.� Kakarotto looks angry, �Don�t mention my father to me.� The drums beat and the gong sounds. Nyko and Kakarotto start firing all manor of Ki blasts at each other and they�re all colliding in the middle of the ring. Nyko looks impressed, Kakarotto just looks annoyed. Nyko suddenly flies towards Kakarotto and punches him in the gut, which stuns him. Kakarotto comes back with an uppercut that sends Nyko tumbling in the air. Kakarotto follows up by a series of knees to his opponents back. Nyko fires a close range Ki blast in his face to counter. They both fall to floor as the crowd goes wild. Kakarotto gets up, looking even angrier. Nyko looks worried as Kakarotto charges up, �I don�t have time to get worn out in the first round. I�m ending this now!� Kakarotto turns Super Saiyan and fires a huge double-palmed blast that knocks Nyko not only off his feet but also out of the arena. Nyko crashes with a huge explosion just outside as the crowd watches on in amazement. After a brief pause the announcer receives a word in his earpiece, �Okay ladies and gentlemen! The winner by both ring-out and knockout: Kakarotto!� Kakarotto walks to the back and returns too normal. �We will now take a brief intermission before the quarter finals will begin!�
15. Psalm�s Breakdown!
�How? How could Nyko have lost?� Ryson keeps shouting as Vice and Carter try and calm him down. �Sir he was taken by surprise! Don�t worry, Vice will crush him in the next round!� Vice nods to Carters words, �It will be my pleasure to beat him to near-death.� Ryson sits down, �Fine. But if you don�t they�ll be hell to pay!� We see everyone talking in the locker room until the announcer is suddenly heard, �OKAY!! Here we go ladies and gentlemen, The Quarter Finals!� The crowd cheers, �First up we have Dee Lei vs. Carter!� Dee Lei, looking nervous, steps into the ring wondering where his opponent is. �Come on! I need to get this done now!� Dee Lei shouts. Carter suddenly runs to the ring from beneath Ryson�s skybox and joins Dee Lei in the ring. The drums beat and the gong sounds, but nether participant move, �Come on then!� Dee Lei shouts, Carter plays it cool, �I know where you trained and I know our Master�s sense of humor� I just have to wait for a while, am I right?� Dee Lei runs towards him but then his head turns around with large force and he falls to the floor. �Argh, damn I knew I�d be cutting it close!� Carter looks amused as Dee Lei starts to feel the effects of multiple punches to the gut. Carter picks Dee Lei up and places him back towards the floor. Dee Lei tries to run forward but feels the effects of Ryu�s Ki Blast to the face and falls backward to the floor. The crowd is confused as to what happened so are silent as the announcer announces Carter as the winner. Dee Lei gets up, �I knew tournaments were a bad idea�� he walks to the back holding his face. �Next up! Recomme vs. Psalm!� Recomme and Psalm walk to the ring, but Psalm seems to be having trouble with something. They go eye to eye as the drums sound and Recomme is getting freaked out, �Man� what�s wrong? You nervous or something? You look more nervous than my grandpa Krillin the first time he met my mum�� The gong sounds but Psalm falls to the floor holding his head, Recomme saying Krillin is repeated in his head over and over again. Suddenly Psalm gets to his feet and lets out an all mighty scream and a powerful energy is let out around him. Recomme is send backwards but manages to keep inside the ring. Everyone else is having trouble seeing what�s going on. Suddenly it all stops and Psalm looks normal, before holding his head again, �I must fight it! Argh!� Psalm runs away, out of the ring and out of the arena. Everyone looks confused and Recomme falls forward to his knees, out of breath, �Okay� So that was hard to hang on, but I still have yet to have a real fight!� Recomme walks to the back as the crowd still doesn�t know what happened. �That Ki was very familiar�� we see Goku say to himself on top of the lookout. �I�ll have to keep an eye on this Psalm��
16. Goten vs. Tooma: The Quarter Finals Continue
�Next up it�s Quarter Final Number Three�� the crowd is getting restless after the last two non-fights, �Introducing the competitors: Goten and Tooma!� They walk to the middle of the ring and wait for the gong, �You�re a Saiyajin, aren�t you?� Goten says, Tooma looks surprised, �How the�?� Goten smirks, �I thought so. You have similar clothes to those other guys.� The gong sounds and Tooma goes in for a strike and Goten counters with a knee to the face. Tooma steps back and fires a Ki blast and Goten just manages to deflect it. Goten shakes off the effects it had on his arm as Tooma seems impressed, �Okay� fine.� Tooma charges up and turns Super Saiyajin. Goten looks surprised as Tooma suddenly goes in the starts beating him around. Goten manages to land a hit that sends Tooma away for a bit, �Damn�� Goten says as he wipes some blood from his mouth, Tooma laughs, �I get it now, you were the one who finished off Kaditsu! Well I�m here for revenge!� Goten shakes his head, �I�m afraid the man who killed him is�� before he can finish his sentence Tooma comes in for another barrage of attacks. Goten turns Semi-Super Saiyan and boots Tooma away before firing a Kamehameha blast towards him. Tooma does his best to block it but gets knocked backwards. Tooma runs in for another attack but this time Goten is landing as many as he is receiving. They battle to near the arena floor and instinctively Tooma uses the floor to bounce back and hit Goten in the jaw. The announcer catches it and shouts, �HALT! Tooma, both of you feet touched the floor! You�re out, Goten is the winner!� The crowd cheers as Tooma looks mad, �Damn it! Stupid rules� I�ll be back, and then there will be no rules!� Tooma flies off back to the ship with his men following. �Okay, that was a bit more like it, eh folks? Up next is our last Quarter Final: Vice vs. Kakarotto!� The crowd cheers. They both walk to the middle of the ring as the drum sounds up to the gong. �Time to avenge Nyko�� Vice mutters under his breath as we see Nyko, who�s holding his head, looking from Ryson�s skybox. Kakarotto turns Super Saiyan straight away, �I�ve seen your trick and I won�t give you the time you need to build up your attack!� Kakarotto flies in and starts to exchange punches with Vice. �You thought the Shadow Ball was my only attack?� Vice wonders as he fires a blast that sends Kakarotto into the air. Vice sees a shadow from the sun being behind the stands that has crept onto the edge of the ring. Vice smiles and he jumps towards it, narrowly avoiding a Ki attack from Kakarotto. �Now what closely, you�ll only see this once!�
17. The Secret Arts of Vice
Kakarotto lands on the ring floor and looks at his opponent, who has a self-satisfied look on his face. Suddenly Vice sinks into the shadow as if it was water, �What the? I can�t sense him anymore�� Kakarotto thinks to himself. Suddenly Vice leaps from a shadow behind Kakarotto and knocks him to the floor with a flying kick. Vice laughs as Kakarotto gets to his feet. Kakarotto turns quickly and fires another blast towards Vice but he jumps into the air and lands in the shadow that was reflected on the wall. �Not again�� Kakarotto mutters as he looks all around himself for his opponent. Suddenly a Shadow Ball flies out of a wall shadow and hits Kakarotto head on, causing him to collapse in pain surrounded by black lightning. Vice jumps out from the shadows once again and starts to kick Kakarotto in the ribs, �Come on boy� lets see your power! You�re the son of Kakarot after all�� Kakarotto looks mad again and struggles to his feet. �Leave my so-called father out of this! This is about me!� Kakarotto suddenly punches Vice to the jaw, knocking him on his back as Kakarotto falls back to the floor. Vice gets up with a shocked look on his face as Kakarotto gets to his feet as well. Vice runs towards the nearest shadow, the one on the corner of the ring. As he jumps to the air to land in it Kakarotto blasts him in the back. The blast hits Vice away from the shadow so he simply falls to the floor outside the ring. �Winner by ring-out: Kakarotto!� Ryson is seen punching his desk in half. �Damn it!! Whose idea was it to have a ring-out rule?? Why didn�t we just have knockout and no elevated ring?� Nyko is stepping back, having never seen his boss so mad. Ryson grabs the phone and soon we see Carter picking up his mobile, �Erm� Yes?� Carter says nervously, �You better win this thing Carter!� Ryson slams down the phone. We see Vice walking in and seeing Carter�s face, �Ryson?� Vice wonders, Carter nods, �Don�t worry� We always have a back-up plan.� Kakarotto is slow to leave the ring to go back to the locker room. �We will now have a thirty minute break before the Semi-Finals begin!� We suddenly cut to Tooma in the spaceship as Douko wonders, �Why don�t we just attack now sir?� Tooma shakes his head, �No� not now. I will say when we strike.� Douko walks away, �If we wait to the end the strongest fighters will be weakened�� Tooma thinks to himself. We then see Psalm land back in the forest as the same girl runs up to him, �Sorry you didn�t win Mr. Psalm�� Psalm looks at her and says, �Run away and don�t come back!� The girl runs off crying. Psalm grabs his head and stumbles into the nearby cave.
18. The Semi-Finals Begin!
�Okay! Here we go ladies and gentlemen, the Semi-Finals are here!� The crowd goes wild, �So without further ado, here is our first Semi-Final match up, Carter vs. Recomme!� The crowd cheers as both men step into the ring. The drums beat up to the sound of the gong and both men take defensive stances, expecting the other to make the first move. �Oh, you want me to go first?� asks Carter, Recomme smiles and nods slowly, �Very well.� Carter fires a blast into the ground. Recomme jumps into the air to avoid it but to no avail as it fires out of the ground at a tremendous speed and hits Recomme under the chin. Recomme lands on the ground and immediately flies forward and punches Carter across the face, staggering him. Recomme and Carter exchange punches and kick as they climb higher and higher into the air. Recomme wins the exchange as he finishes off with a knee to the gut and double axe handle to the back. Carter gets up slowly and looks up at his foe before creating a spear made of Ki and throwing towards him. Recomme manages to dodge it but Carter makes it turn around in mid-air and head towards Recomme�s back. Recomme senses something is amiss so turns around in time for it to just scrape past his side. Recomme falls to the floor in pain as Carter makes the spear explode in the air. Recomme slowly gets up and looks at Carter who is creating two small objects of Ki, no bigger than his hand. Carter throws an object at Recomme�s feet and it explodes like a grenade sending Recomme nearly flying out of the ring. Recomme stops in mid-air and is now out of breath. Carter throws the other one and Recomme manages to fire a Ki blast that makes it explode before it reaches him. �Not bad�� Carter says with a smirk, Recomme smiles back, �I never fall for the same trick twice.� Carter seems intrigued by those words and creates five more Ki-Grenades and starts to juggle them, �We�ll see about that�� Recomme suddenly sees his opportunity and fires a Light Matter Attack as quickly as he could towards Carter. Carter tries to block it but in doing so drops all the Ki-Grenades, which when mixed with the Light Matter Attack, creates a huge explosion that sends Carter crashing outside the ring. We see Ryson drop to his knees as he hears the announcer declare a tired Recomme the winner. �Nyko�� Ryson says, Nyko steps forward, �Go get Vice and Carter here as soon as possible�� Nyko nods and walks away. Recomme slowly walks to the back as Carter is helped to his feet. Carter then pushes everyone away and walks to the back on his own. �How about it folks? What a great tournament this has been!� the crowd cheers, �Now we have our last Semi-Final! It pits Goten against Kakarotto!� We see the two walk into the middle of the ring. We see Goku watching the TV and saying, �Now THIS should be good�� We then see Kakarot also smiling while watching.
19. Rivals Bound by Blood
The drums start to pick up tempo as Goten and Kakarotto look into each other�s eyes. �I�ve been waiting a long time for this, Goten.� Kakarotto says, �I hold your father responsible for the downfall of my bloodline and I will now take my revenge through you!� The gong sounds and they�re soon exchanging punches and kicks at lightning speed. They start to fire similar attacks that hit each other with large explosions, �Damn my father for teaching you!� shouts an angry Kakarotto, Goten smiles, �Hey, I was saving the world before you were born buddy.� They then get into a test of strength, �You think I care about this planet?� wonders Kakarotto, Goten looks confused, �Well since you and your parents grew up here� Yes?� Kakarotto starts to get the upper hand, pushing Goten back towards the edge of the ring, �This planet isn�t my true home! My rightful home is with my people on our home planet�� Goten starts to come back and starts pushing Kakarotto back, �You mean the home planet my grandfather destroyed?� The test of strength end with them both jumping back, �Ah yes, the infamous Chris Heero� As if I didn�t hate your family enough already!� Kakarotto turns Super Saiyan; Goten responds by turning Semi-Super Saiyan, �I guess I�ll have to bring you round the hard way�� Goten jumps to the air and starts charging up a huge attack, Kakarotto recognizes the stance, �A � Final Flash?� Kakarotto looks somewhat worried, �I guess I have no choice but to use the same attack, even if it was invented by my father�� Kakarotto, staying on the ground, takes the same stance but is able to charge up the attack quicker due to his full Super Saiyan abilities. �Final Flash!� they both shout at the same time as both huge beams meet in the middle of the ring. The arena is literally being torn apart by the force of the two attacks meeting, �How is he so strong? He�s not even a half Saiyan!� Kakarotto shouts, he then charges up an attack in his left hand and throws it in the middle, causing the struggle to end in a huge explosion of Ki. Kakarotto falls to his knees, completely out of breath as Goten slowly descends to the ring floor, also out of breath. Suddenly Kakarotto fires a quick double-palm Ki Blast and Goten fires a Kamehameha. They both collide in the middle once again and explode. Goten and Kakarotto fall to their knees. They both then fire single palm blasts that once again meet in the middle. This is the final straw as they both collapse on the ring floor. �Okay folks! We don�t believe in draws here, so the first to get to his feet wins!� Both Goten and Kakarotto struggle to get up. Kakarotto fires a very small blast that knocks one of Goten�s arms back, causing him to fall back to the floor and Kakarotto to stand up first. �Your winner: Kakarotto!� We see Kakarot storming out of his living room. �Okay, now we will take an hours break before the final to allow our competitors as much time to heal as possible!� Goten is helped to the back by Piccolo and Gohan, while Kakarotto slowly walks to the back under his own power.
20. The Grand Finale!
We see Goten being placed on a seat. �Man� only an hour�� Goten says in between breaths, �I don�t think we thought this through� The competition has been far greater than we could�ve imagined. How are we supposed to take Ryson down now?� Recomme, who is getting the large cut on his side patched up says, �Well, after that fight I think I can take Kakarotto� but yeah Ryson is a worry.� Everyone gathers, �Hey look guys.� Piccolo says, �We can do this together. Most of us have fully healed from sadly being eliminated early. If we all do it together I�m sure we�ll succeed.� Everyone nods and Goten closes his eyes and sighs. We see Carter, Vice and Nyko standing in a row behind Ryson who is looking out the window again, �So� This plan was a failure, was it not?� Everyone looks at each other, �Plan A was a failure sir, yes.� Ryson turns around, �Plan A?� Vice steps forward, �Sir, we go back a long way. Did you really think there wouldn�t be a Plan B?� Ryson sits down, �Sir, if we can�t improve our public image then we�ll simply make it worse. So bad and frightful that people will hand us the Dragon Balls out of fear for their lives!� Ryson stands up again and looks out the window at the sky, �But� Fine. It�s not like the rest of the world doesn�t deserve it.� Ryson turns around, �We will wait for the finals to end and then I shall make my announcement to the world!� An hour passes quickly and soon the crowd is seated and ready for the grand finale. �Okay ladies and gentlemen! It�s time for the final of what has been an amazing tournament! I would like to thank Shadow Law Army for putting together this show for us tonight!� the crowd boos, �And now our finalists: Recomme and Kakarotto!� Recomme walks out, not really showing the ill effects of his fight with Carter. Kakarotto barely makes it into the ring due to hard battles against Nyko, Vice and Goten. The drums beat and the gong sounds, Recomme dodges out of the way of an early blast attempt by Kakarotto, �Damn it�� Kakarotto says, already out of breath. Recomme lands behind him and elbows him across the ring. Kakarotto just manages to stop near the edge and turns around to get hit with a flying kick. Kakarotto again manages to avoid ring out by ascending into the air. Recomme flies after him and Kakarotto suddenly screams and turns Super Saiyan, taking everyone by surprise. Kakarotto hits Recomme backwards and fires a very small Big Bang Attack. Recomme responds by firing his own attack from one hand that destroys Kakarotto�s efforts and knocks the proud Vejita family member hard, causing him to fall outside of the ring in a heap. �So close� Sorry my ancestors� I�ve let you down again�� Kakarotto falls unconscious.
21. Hollow Victory
�Here is your winner of the first Shadow Law Army World Martial Arts Tournament� RECOMME!� The crowd goes wild. Suddenly Ryson appear behind the announcer and takes the mic from him, �First� and last Tournament. It would like to relay a message before I take on my opponent, people of Earth: If you do not surrender the remaining six Dragon Balls we need we shall hunt you down and kill you for it if necessary!� The crowd looks confused, �Don�t believe me?� Ryson fires a large blast into the audience, killing Agents Blue and Red among other innocents. The crowd screams and starts to disburse. Recomme looks angry and shouts, �Your fight is with me Ryson!� Ryson steps up into the ring. Everyone is about to join him when Tooma�s ship hovers above and Tooma and his men fly down to challenge everybody. At the same time Vice, Carter and Nyko come down. Tooma challenges a very-slightly rested up Goten, who takes him up on the challenge and meets him by his space ship. Piccolo, Gohan and Ryu take on Vice, Carter and Nyko, while Pikkon, Tenchi, Dee Lei and Kessen fight the remaining Saiyajin. Recomme is trying to land a hit on Ryson but is failing to do so. Ryson boots Recomme into the air and then grabs him foot, throwing him into the floor. Tooma and Goten are battling near the edge of the spaceship and Tooma is winning due to Goten�s weakened state. We then see Sanja ducking a blow from Kessen and blasting a hole through his body. Sanja looks pleased with the results. Jin is backing off from Dee Lei, not being able to do damage will do that to you. Jin sees Doken and Tairen are in the stands watching the battle. Jin takes the opportunity to do something of note and kills the unsuspecting Tairen with a large blast. Doken looks shocked and confused and so just flies away in panic. Dee Lei looks confused and says, �Random killing eh? Well two can play that game.� Dee Lei sees Douko hitting Pikkon and Tenchi away and takes his opportunity to kill the unsuspecting Saiyajin. �Damn it!� Shouts Jin, Sanja joins him and says that they should await instructions now they�ve lost a man. Jin agrees and they fly up towards Tooma. Dee Lei flies back down to join Pikkon and Tenchi in helping Piccolo, Gohan and Ryu with the Shadow Law Army generals. We see Recomme blasting Ryson in the face with a big blast. It actually knocks Ryson off his feet, but he is soon to get up and fire his own blast that knocks Recomme out of the ring, �Oh look, I�ve won our match�� Ryson says with a cocky smile, �Damn�� Recomme says as he slowly gets to his feet. Tooma is then seen hitting Goten backwards in the air; Goten has his back turned to his foe. �Ready to give up?� In the background Jin and Sanja are seen watching the battle, Goten is charging a small attack in between is hands. Tooma powers up his own attack just inches away from Goten, who then suddenly turns around and pushes his attack into Tooma�s. The resulting explosion sends Goten flying into the ground below and sends Tooma across the horizon. Jin and Sanja jump into the ship and fly it towards their King.
22. Ryson�s Troubled Past
Goten looks across at Recomme being choked by Ryson. Goten gets to his feet and fires a small blast that distracts Ryson enough to release Recomme. Ryson walks up to the tired Goten and throws him on top of his partner. �So you both want to feel my wrath?� Goten and Recomme both try to get to their feet. �Why are you doing all of this?� Recomme asks, �Why did you start this army?� Ryson looks annoyed, �I don�t have to tell you anything. Goten starts to get to his feet, �Okay then, why did you wish for a large amount of money, then use it to build up a huge army? Why not wish for a huge army to begin with?� Ryson looks shocked that they know so much about him, �Hmmm� You want to know why? I wished for money for my family. We were in debt and with me as a fighter it was hard to bring in money. Then my oldest son was beaten up badly one day and asked why I wasn�t there. I wanted to make sure there was never anyone to hurt my children or my wife�� Ryson cracks his knuckles and is obviously finding it hard to say all of this, �Just when everything was going smoothly� I returned home to find my wife� son and � two-year old daughter� slaughtered! With seemingly no reason and no evidence left behind I was all but alone! I was on the verge of killing myself when my near-life long friends Vice and Carter reminded me of the Dragon Balls. I needed them to bring back my family! Since they were combined into one set it has been more difficult to find them� But I won�t give up�My army is stronger than ever!� Ryson, near tears, runs forward and punches a stunned Goten and Recomme away and into the nearby wall. Gasping for breath, Goten says, �Looks like my father was right�� Recomme nods, �Well, about Ryson�s wish anyway, his army still needs to go�� Goten nods back. Ryson is slowly walking towards them. We see Nyko and Piccolo exchanging punches. Piccolo dodges past him and elbows him in the back of the head, knocking him unconscious. Piccolo prepares for a Big Bang Attack to finish him off when Vice and Carter realize what�s going on and put both their hands together and spin them towards everyone, turn their palms out and fire a huge joint Ki blast that hits the ground, knocking Piccolo, Gohan, Ryu, Pikkon and Tenchi out of the arena and out cold. Dee Lei is left standing there and says, �Damn� that�s going to really hurt later�� Vice and Carter pick Nyko up and put one arm over each other�s shoulders and nod to Ryson, who nods back. The three generals fly away. Dee Lei shrugs and walks away.
23. Unexpected Ally
Ryson suddenly appears behind Recomme and Goten and knocks them both stumbling forward and they hit the floor. �This is too easy. How about I give you till the count of ten to do something, then I�ll end this.� Ryson slowly rises into the air with his arms crossed, �1� 2� 3� 4�� Goten and Recomme look at each other and although they�re both exhausted, nod to each other, �5�6�7�8�9�10!� Ryson fires a huge one-armed attack towards them, they respond by firing the two biggest blasts they could muster. This results in a power struggle, but one Ryson is easily winning. �This is pathetic�� Ryson says to himself with a self-satisfied grin. Suddenly a blasts hits him in the back, Ryson looks behind him to see an exhausted Kakarotto with a smoking palm behind him. He slowly flies away. This distraction was enough to allowed Recomme and Goten to stand up and push the struggle back towards Ryson, who is engulfed. Recomme and Goten fall to the floor and pass out. The smoke clears and Ryson is basically unharmed. He points a single hand Ki blast at them but then retracts it, �Hmmm� That�s not my style. I�m sure we�ll meet again.� Ryson flies off. After a passage of time we see that Senko, Kakarot, Sagat and their respective wives have all arrived to help them up, along with Tenchi�s mum. Everyone is gathered in the middle of the destroyed ring, everyone is sore but are able to stand, with the exception of Goten and Recomme, who are sitting up still trying to catch their breath. �You fought till you had nothing left� That�s my boy.� Senko says with a smile. Kakarot interrupts, �It seems Goku was right. We no longer need to interfere with your fights.� Goten looks at Tenchi, �Say, do you want to train with us?� Tenchi looks at his mum, �Only if I get to go home every day�� Goten nods, �It�s what we do with Pikkon. No problem.� Tenchi looks excited. Recomme looks at Ryu, who is starting to leave, �Hey, what about you?� Ryu turns around to look at everybody, �Sorry. My heart is in my hometown. I want to stay there and protect it. But if ever need a hand, don�t hesitate to ask.� Ryu flies off holding his arm. Everyone starts to split up. We then see Kakarotto sitting in a forest, still battered and bruised. �Why did I help? Why didn�t I beat that no-body in the final? How can a member of the Vejita family have this low fatigue level? I must get stronger� I must forget these trivial things that were apart of my life when I was being kept from the truth. I� Must� Get� Stronger�� Kakarotto falls asleep.
