The Death~Valley Blog - This is the part of the site where I, NS, vent my frustrations, and state my general opinions - In NS's Thoughts!
Entry for November 28, 2006
Hello, and thank you for visiting Death~Valley!  Here's what's on my mind today...

Survivor Series was a decent pay per view.  It had a couple of good/interesting matches...and of course my favorite was the Undertaker vs. Mr. Kennedy match.  There have been rumors that the Undertaker had suffered from a broken rib...while I am not dispelling these rumors, the Undertaker did move around fast for someone that is supposed to have an 'injured rib.'  Could the "broken rib tale" still be true?  Yeah...but, it seems like the Undertaker is going to be okay, since he moved around faster than ever on Sunday.  Otherwise, the chairshot that he gave to Kennedy was DEVESTATING, and just a total 'wow' factor.  It's the first time I've marked out in a while, but the match was finally a good one.  Kennedy is no Khali, thank God.

Now, I have to bring up a bulletin I saw from NODQ.com about the possibility of the Undertaker's match at WrestleMania 23.  Here is the full read:

"It is being reported that Vince McMahon has already agreed to a Batista vs Undertaker match, in a 'world title vs WM streak' match at Wrestlemania 23. Probably the most significant thing written is that Batista is the one planned to get the win, at this point."  - from http://nodq.com/wwe/166685304.shtml

Now, I'm not saying this is false either...BUT, the rumor is most likely untrue.  If it is true however, I will be majorly upset.  The Undertaker's Wrestlemania streak means something to his legacy.  He doesn't have 10 or 17 world championships...he doesn't have to be the main event each and every time...and he doesn't need every accomplishment of the WWE to be known.  Hell, the Undertaker doesn't even need the WM streak to be the legend that he is, but it's there and it means something now to the fans.  And to make the Undertaker lose it to BATISTA?  Batista?  Lose the WrestleMania undefeated streak to a guy that has no wrestling capability in my mind and is basically a joke?  Batista?  I can't get over this...they are trying to get behind the "FUTURE" of the business, but it's not Batista.  Why does the streak even need to end?  Why can't it just stay with the Undertaker when he does retire?  And even if it needs to be done with...why can't it be someone like Kane?  Someone that actually deserves it.  Not some jacked up Ultimate Warrior/Lex Luger wanna-be that has no talent except to switch the position of his thumbs.

I will be at WrestleMania, and if the Undertaker loses his undefeated streak to Batista, I will walk away and go back to the hotel...and that's not being stupid or over reacting...that's sticking up for a wrestler that deserves better than he has gotten at times.

I'm jumping the gun right now, but believe me, there will be an outcry from Undertaker fans alike if this does indeed happen and Batista wins...Why would this need to be done is the real question.  When you have guys like Hulk Hogan that jump into the picture with no rhyme or reason, and squash the opponent...at least 'Taker takes the time to put over his advisary and not completely destroy him right from the gate - while taking 30 minutes to wave his hand by his ear.

I've gone on a bit of a rant, but believe me, more is to come as this falls together.
