| A super heavyweight. A backstage manager. The on-air president of the WWF/E. Legendary commentator. Beloved friend. All these phrases, and more, sum up the man that is Gorilla Monsoon. Gorilla played the heel in wrestling, and was one of the greatest of all time. And even after his 20 years as a wrestler, Monsoon still played a role in the industry - behind and in front of the camera. Many will remember Gorilla Monsoon as a announcer, alongside his very talented - and fellow Death Valley HOF Inductee - Bobby Heenan. He was also very involved in the backstage area of the WWF, and even has the prominent area behind the entrance stage named after him (The Gorilla Position). Many will also just remember him for being Robert Marella. A beloved friend...and a true classic. I am proud to induct Gorilla Monsoon into the Death~Valley Hall of Fame! Rest In Peace, Gorilla. |
