The Word says that Jesus has sent us a Comforter to be with us. But how often we live our day-to-day lives, forgetting to involve Jesus in any aspect of it. If we have truly asked Him into our lives as our Savior and Lord, then He is with us all the time. He reads the morning paper with us, goes to work with us and in the evening watches the same television programs that we watch. He is with us when we visit with friends, when we go on vacations and when we do our grocery shopping. When we are in bed sick with the flu, He's right there. When we say goodbye to a loved one at death, He's there as well.

I think about that sometimes. When I'm at my computer, working on this web site or just surfing the web, He is right there. The realization of His presence makes me think twice about listening or participating in gossip. It dictates what TV programs I watch. It reminds me to guard my tongue.

But lest you think that I have all this down pat....there are so many times I let him down. But I'm trying. I'm trying.

Being a widow makes the fact that His presence is with me all the time even more blessed. I can share things with Him that are special to me - sunsets, the sounds of ocean waves, beautiful music. No, I can't see Him or physically touch Him, but I do feel His presence. How many times He has wrapped His arms around me when I grieved or felt overwhelmed. What kind of danger have I been protected from by His being there!

I am thankful for a Savior who through His Holy Spirit has promised to never leave us or forsake us. Even when we are unfaithful to Him - He is always faithful to us.

He is "with us always."
Thank you, Jesus
