Disclaimers: As always, this has NOTHING to do with the new movie. It's a product of my twisted little mind and crazy imagination. I don't own half the characters in this, because if I did, THIS would be the new movie, not TPM.

Chapter 3

She could still hear them whispering. They had been standing outside the room - whispering - for so long. She had asked them to leave her alone and yet...they guarded the entrance to her room religiously. Why wouldn't they leave her alone?! Her parents were gone! Didn't they understand? They said it had been an accident...a _tragic_ accident...It _was_ an accident...wasn't it?

"NO!" Obi-Wan was taken aback. "Please - " "I don't transport _Jedi's_," the pilot replied gruffly. "Now LEAVE!"

Biting his tongue to keep from saying something he _knew_ he'd regret later, Obi-Wan stormed back to the bustling street. He was no better off in finding a pilot than he had been when he started - nearly two hours ago.

As he walked, he reflected on Owen...and Beru. His brother - his _younger_ brother - felt so much happiness. Beru made him happy...there once was a woman that could have made Obi-Wan happy, but he had wanted to become a Jedi. There was no time for love in his life...however, at times, he wished there was...and more often than not...

Obi-Wan abruptly stopped walked. Someone was watching him. Cautiously, he glanced behind him and seeing no one, continued walking. However, the feeling wouldn't go away. Someone - though very well hidden - was there and not interested in delaying the pursuit.

Obi-Wan pulled his hood closer to his face and slightly quickened his steady pace. Before he realized anything was happening, someone grabbed Obi-Wan's arm and jerked him into an alleyway. Obi-Wan reached for his lightsaber, but as he did, the cloaked figure threw back it's hood. "Aren't you supposed to be at the Council Meeting on D'Mar Three?"

"Master Lonys!" Obi-Wan gasped. "Forgive me!"

The tall, good-natured Jedi Master, Andru Lonys sighed. "I presume you have a good reason, Kenobi? You _know_ how important that meeting was!"

Obi-Wan nodded. "As I was leaving Tatooine, a young boy told me that he felt danger and said that I should take another transport."

Master Lonys momentarily closed his steel grey eyes. "And you believed him?"

"He knew I was a Jedi."

"Perhaps he saw your lightsaber," Master Lonys said warily. "He could have merely deduced it from that."

"He knew," Obi-Wan said firmly. "The Force is strong in him. Very strong." Master Lonys thoughtfully rubbed his thickly bearded chin. "Does he know of the Force?" "I tried to ask him but he became frightened and ran away," Obi-Wan replied glumly. He glanced at the noble Jedi-Master wide-eyed. "Do you suppose..."

"He could very well be what the Council is searching for," Master Lonys paused. "How old is the boy?"

"Ten years."

"A mere child," Master Lonys shook his head. "And of his name?"

"Anakin...Skywalker," Obi-Wan said clearly. "He lives near my brother on Tatooine. He will not be hard to find."
