Summary: Not everyone deals with death so well.Obi Wan shows no weakness to his new padawan or the council despite what damage it does to his soul. Dont blame me I was hyper all day to day I dont know what happened.

Disclaimers: I dont own em dont want to actually.I like what George does with them but I gotta do something when I'm bored.George Lucas...who owns them if you didnt know does a much better job than I ever could.

Anakin swung the sabers blade down to meet the laser beam that had shot out of the small round target droid less than a second ago. Anakin extinguished his saber and looked up at his master expecting praise as he had not missed blocking a single shot all day.Jedi Master Obi Wan Kenobi sat staring at the pavement. They had spent most of their time in Theed,Anakin didnt dare ask questions since it meant he could spend his spare time with Queen Amidala. He suspected his Master was afraid to leave his one link to Qui Gon.He couldnt seem to let go,that much was obvious.

"Master?"Anakin called out carefully.

Obi Wan's head snapped up and his blue-grey eyes focused on his Padawan.Even in his unfocused and depressed state his eyes still shone with very unJedi like pride towards the boy. Obi Wan smiled sadly, then stood from where he had been sitting on a fountain edge in the Theed Palace Gardens. "Good Ani I think we've both had enough for today why dont you go find Amidala?" Obi Wan suggested figuring Anakin wouldnt need any more encouragement to talk to the young woman the boy was so fond of. Anakin shook his head and walked over to stand at his masters side. Anakin looked up at the man he thought of as a father. He was sure what he saw in those blue-grey eyes was sadness along with loneliness,Anakin silently wondered if his Master seriously missed Qui Gon so much he couldnt move on.But told himself that couldnt possibly be it.Master Obi Wan was far too strong to let that take him down.Besides he had won the fight. That was all that mattered as far as Anakin was concerned. To Be on the winning side.Anakin shook his head to clear the thoughts then realized his Master was sending confusing thoughts through the force to try and change the subject.Anakin stared at his Master in shock. He had never resorted to mind manipulation before.

"Master we must talk."Anakin started.

He felt something he had so very rarely felt radiating from his master. It was frustration and sorrow.Anger because he didnt wish to talk about it.Anakin stepped back in surprise then turned and left his master to be alone.Obi Wan watched after his Padawan sadly,he didnt know when everything had fallen apart but slowly it had.He sat down by the fountain and for the first time since he could remember he wept.He wept for his lost master that he never truly got to say goodbye to,he wept for what he knew was to come of young Anakin,he wept for a lost soul that he did not yet realize was his own.He felt empty, almost dead it was then that he realized it wasnt because he was crying but because someone close by was feeling sorrow as well.Their sorrow was overwhelming. He looked up and saw Queen Amidala, still in her royal robes and face paint standing there. Her face showing nothing, cool and calm, completely devoid of expression.Yet he could feel her heart crying for him, only him.He didnt understand. He wiped his eyes and stood quickly, somewhat embarrassed from allowing his emotions to show through.

"Queen Amidala I did not see you."he said rather stupidly.

"Well it seems you were busy at the moment with other things."she said trying to keep her poise. She knew she would break at any moment if he looked at her with those sad eyes.He hadnt been the same since Qui Gon had died.None of them had, he had touched all their lives in some way but she guessed since he had known Qui Gon the longest he would feel the loss much more than she or Anakin would. She was going to lose it she knew it.Obi Wans tear strained eyes locked with hers and within two steps she was with him.Her arms around him, hugging him and trying her best to comfort him despite her own tears.Together they stood in the gardens crying into each others arms trying to fill the emptyness they both felt inside.

The End
