Stepping Out
A musical by Richard Harris, and by
kind permission of Samuel French Ltd.

One-time professional dancer Mavis Turner starts her own dance school and takes on the challenge of turning a group - lacking all sense of graceful movement - into a highly-trained tap-dancing troupe. While putting up with an antagonistic pianist in the shape of Mrs Fraser, the class learns the joy of dance, and about each other, as together they prepare for their big night.

The action takes place in a somewhat dingy church hall. Time: the present.
