NHS vs Little Axe: Mother Nature began her war on baseball teams and won. This game was rained out. (1-0)
NHS vs Elk City: Newcastle lost the first game to Elk City by a score of 6-5, but came back with a big win in the second game winning 6-1. (2-1)
NHS vs Purcell: The game against Purcell was rained out. Purcell Coach Dane Coale also had to make a trip to the NCAA women's basketball tournament. Good luck to the OU women as they make a run for the National Championship. (2-1)
NHS vs Bethany:This game was also rained out. (2-1)
NHS vs Deer Creek: Again, Mother Nature has the last laugh on baseball coaches in Oklahoma! (2-1)
NHS vs Minco: She is still laughing. (2-1)
NHS vs Dibble: Newcastle won this double header. The score of the first game was 21-1, with Gastgeb pitching his first varsity win. Jerrod Williams was on the mound in the night game. It was his first start as a varsity pitcher. It was a historic game for the Racers, our first night game with the new lights. (4-1)
NHS vs Tuttle: This game was rained out.(4-1)
NHS vs South East:Another rain out for the Racers. (4-1)
NHS vs Sequoyah Claremore:The Eagles won this game 3-1. Tim Ross started the game and was relieved by Matt Gastgeb. The Racers just could not get a timely hit. (4-2)
NHS vs Blanchard:This was a loss for the Racers by a 3-1 margin. Dustin Rowden was on the mound, and had a 1-1 tie going into the seventh inning. (4-3)
NHS vs Meeker:The Racers traveled to Meeker to play a double header with Meeker and Luther. Newcastle easily won this game. Tim Ross threw a one hitter, winning 11-0. (5-3)
NHS vs Luther: Another victory for the Big Blue! Jerrod Williams got the win 2-0, and he also hit a double of the left field fence knocking in the two runs. (6-3)
NHS vs Wayne: The Racers got the win at Wayne 10-0 with Matt Gastgeb on the mound. (7-3)
NHS vs Paoli: Paoli came out ahead in this game by a margin of 7-1. Derek White got his first start as a pitcher in Newcastle. Dustin Rowden had a home run. (7-4)
NHS vs Bethel: Newcastle traveled to Bethel for this win by a score of 6-0. Dustin Rowden pitched, with Gastgeb hitting a home run. (8-4)
NHS vs Marlow: The Outlaws proved to be a tough team, getting two wins on this Friday. (8-6)
I haven't been able to keep up very well this year! I'm going to try to catch in the next few days!
NHS vs Noble: Newcastle defeated Marlow with two big homeruns by Dustin Rowden and Zach Lynch. (19-9)
NHS vs Capitol Hill: The Racers won this game also. Saturday turned out to be a good day for the Racers as they defeated two 5-A teams. (20-9)
NHS vs Lone Grove: Tim Ross pitches the Racers to another victory. (21-9)
DISTRICTS: NHS vs Tecumseh: Racers took over this game early, winning 8-1. Matt Gastgeb pitched the first 5 innings, and came out in case we needed him for the next day. He was followed up by Jarrod Williams, who did a great job. (22-9)
DISTRICTS: NHS vs Tecumseh: Dustin Rowden improved to 8-1, striking out 13 batters. Racers made a dramatic comeback in the top of the 7th inning, down 4-2, they got 5 hits and ended up winning 7-4.
OF SPECIAL INTEREST: One of our big rivals, Blanchard, unfortunately (not!) did not win their district tournament at home against Little Axe. So, although we don't know where our Regional Tournament will be, we do know it won't be in Blanchard!
