Baptist Church
On May 1, 2000, New Beginning Baptist Church welcomed a new pastor, the Reverend David Coburn. "Pastor David", as he prefers to be called, has been happily married to Trish since 1989. They have two sons, Michael (born 1994) and Daniel (born 1998). The Coburns have lived in King since 1994.
Pastor David graduated from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in the town of Wake Forest, North Carolina. He has served as pastor, associate pastor, or interim pastor for several churches since 1983. He is also active in denominational life, currently serving as Vice Moderator Elect of the Pilot Mountain Baptist Association. In addition to his credentials in ministry, he graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Pastor David's passion is people. He enjoys preparing and preaching sermons that are relevant in the real world where we all live every day. He also enjoys spending time with his family, listening to current books on tape, and working with computers. (When he and Trish lived near friends who had a boat on a lake, he enjoyed water skiing, too!)
