EUROPE

This page contains information on European Treaties and directives which affect the regeneration of Ballymun as well as other relevant European involvement. The Directives are long, technical and a little boring to read, but nonetheless they are very informative.  All the documents attached below are in Word 97 rich text format and may be copied and pasted or downloaded for reading.

ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENTS
The regeneration of Ballymun is a large scale urban redevelopment project.  All such projects carried out in member States of the European Union are required to produce an Environmental Impact Assessment.  The document linked here contains the provisions member States must make in order to protect citizens and the environment. URBAN WASTE WATER
The regeneration of Ballymun will lead to large increases in the amount of urban waste water in the area. The European Directive on the treatment of urban waste water tells member States how such urban waste water should be treated in order to protect citizens and the environment. Click here.

European Union Complaint to Ireland
The European Union has made a complaint against Ireland for the governments failure to ensure environmental information is supplied regarding projects. Click here.
