Birthday Road Rally
"Gas up for a neighborhood adventure"

Are you in search of a truly unique party which is sure to provide barrels of fun for both kids & parents? After reading the following "Great Idea" in a June 1995 issue of Family Fun magazine, I have been waiting for the right opportunity to host this party. A 13th birthday seems the ideal time!

"For my daughter's thirteenth birthday, we decided to hold a road rally party. My husband and I plotted out a driving course around town and into the country that would take about an hour in the car. I then made up cryptic directions the kids had to follow, such as turn left on the state capital of Wisconsin (Madison Street), turn opposite of right on spectacular vista (Grandview Boulevard), and hang a Louie (a left) on Highway 60-1 (Highway 59). Sprinkled among the clues were fun activities that the s needed to do, such as buy one bag of french fries and divide them evenly, run around the baseball diamond backward, and stand by the river and sing "Happy Birthday" as loud as they could. The hunt ended back at our home where the s went in pursuit of a final treasure. We opted to put all the kids in one car, but this road rally could easily be made into a race by splitting guests into separate cars and having one team follow the directions in reverse (all within the speed limit, of course)."

Let your imagination expand on this idea...the possibilities for fun are endless.
