To, The Administrator of Comunidades of North Zone Mapusa, Goa. Sir, I am a Gaunkar and Jonoeiro of the Comunidade of Serula. I have to state that I have learnt on 19th January 2007, that some unknown person/s are developing/excavating land supposedly for a road connecting the ward of Vaddem, Socorro, with the plateau of Serula after the ward of Maina, Socorro, by trespassing over the land belonging to the Comunidade of Serula. The exact distance of the excavation and road work cannot be verified but may be approximately more or less than 6 kms., passing through the hills, horticultural gardens, forests and grazing lands falling within the Private village of the Comunidade of Serula. Please let me know if you are aware of the said activity and if so, whether it has been approved by the General Body of the Gaunkars of the Comunidade of Serula. Alternately, in the absence of any approval from the Comunidade, you are directed to immediately stop the said activity. I am prepared to identify the site since the documents of the area are in the custody of the concerned Escrivao, who is most reluctant to furnish the necessary information to the undersigned when required.
