This is the Review for the month of June, 2003.

Hello once again. Utopia here doing my monthly article on the UGW. It is June now, the sun is shining, the weather is great at times, and the UGW is going full throttle once again. It has been awesome to see the competition going on in the park. Usually at least one show is done per week so the wrestlers are really working hard to keep this little backyard fed going. This month I am going to focus on bringing you all up to speed on the up coming pay per view entitled Singled Out.

Well, the obvious match, probably main event, that has already been talked about is the Pope vs Akira match that will take place at Singled Out. This match promises to be a UGW classic as Akira is always great to watch in the ringI mean the guy has it all. Hes powerful when he needs to be, he is aggressive, competative, he has speed, hes one of the best technical wrestlers in the UGW, and he possesses one thing that no one else in the UGW has right nowthe Heavyweight title. This is a big advantage to him because every match that he defends his title, he has been a little bit better than the last. It is very hard to improve on perfection, but Akira has proven time after time that he can do it. Just recently he has defeated Bonar, virtually every member from Team Hell, including former UGW wrestler Cyanide who as we all know has been fired for being gay. Akira has beaten the best in the UGW since winning the title in a huge match against Fuel earlier on in the year. Akira looks to be going strong and there has been nothing in site that can stop him, that is until now

Akiras opponent at this Pay Per View is one third of Team Hell, The Pope. This man is probably the most underrated wrestler in the UGW. He is indeed the current T.V Champion, but not a lot of people give him the credit that he deserves. Inside the ring the Pope is as ruthless as any other competitor today. He is fast and effective, and when he fights, he fights hard, and tries to bring as much pain to his opponents as possible. He is not proud or overly cocky in the ring, which is key to him keeping a leg up on his opponent as he never underestimates who he is fighting. Outside the ring is a different story. We always see him giving doglips to someone he has to fight, hell, he even had a nice little motivational speech of sorts with Akira this past week on UGW T.V. Pope basically told Akira that he would get to lose his title at the Pay Per View if he was able to get past Bonar. Pope can be cocky when he wants, but it is never brought to the ringAs I said before, when he is fighting, he is serious. He always acts like he is the underdog, whether it be against Akira or just some pud jobber, he always takes the match seriously. This makes him dangerous because everyone else who has fought Akira only think of him as the former cruiserweight guy. No one ever thinks about how hard he must have worked to get from where he was to where he is, that is no one except the Pope. He will not underestimate Akira, and therefore he will not assume that he can just walk all over him. Whatever the outcome of this match, it is sure to be one of the best matches the UGW ring has ever had in it.

As for the rest of the pay per view, very little is known about any matches signed or being organized. It is obvious that with all the feuding between Team Hell, No Respect, and the team of Bonar and Fuel that something will come of all of that. Maybe a 3 way tag match or something of that effectbut Fuel seems to have another interest in this pay per view. There have been rumours about some kind of match for #1 contender for Popes T.V Title. Now I dont know if this is true or not, but I can think of several wrestlers that would jump at the chance to fight for the T.V Title. Fuel is obviously one of them as he is trying to prove to everyone that he is indeed a great wrestler, and this would be a big step for him on his road to success. After losing to Akira, Bonar might be looking for something a litle bit easier for him to obtain, as he has just recently come back to the ring, and may still not be on his a game, this could be a good detour for him on his way to possibly becoming the Heavyweight Champ. Im sure that Hotshot Joe and Hardcore Kelly would love to rub the T.V Title in Team Hells face right after they pin Pope for it, and Mike Sledge would probably be very excited to hold a belt in the UGW as he has never done so Im not sure what kind of thing will be going on for the TV Title at the pay per view, but Im sure that the UGW Commisioner, King Harv, will not leave it laying idle at such an important event.

As for the Mexican Titleit never seems to stay in anyones hands for more than a few minutes Lately we have seen Mike Sledge absolutely mutilating all Lightweights who cross his path Could it be that he is actually considering fighting for the belt. I mean, Mike Sledge could become the first wrestler to have a really good long reign as the champion in this division. He will probably have to lose a little weight, but he could definitely start something for himself with thisthat is if he doesnt have his sites on higher goals at the immediate moment. Whatever goes on with this, it should be good and hilarious to watch.

Well, those are my thoughts on the upcoming pay per view. A date has not yet been set but there are about 4 more UGW T.V shows schedualed before Singled Out, so it wont be for about a month yet. I am looking forward to it, and it promises to be a great show. This is Utopia signing off 1
