Prison Ministry - Instructions For Christmas or Easter Cookies For Inmates

  1. Make cookies generous in size - about 3 inches in diameter.  Christmas or Easter cookies are great, but some shapes break easily for example - candy canes, sticky cookies, etc.  Try to have a variety of cookies.

  1. Do not pack cookies while warm.

  1. Keep cookies cold or frozen until delivery.  Thaw completely and dry before packaging.

  1. Put 5 to 7 cookies into a Ziploc plastic bag about 7 inches by 7 inches.  The ones with a little pleat opposite the zip are best.

  1. Write a short message on a card and sign with first name only.  Examples of messages -

a.       Have a Nice Day in Jesus.

b.      These cookies were baked in Love.  I hope you like them.

c.       May you enjoy God's Peace this Christmas or Easter.

  1. Put the card in a small plastic bag or wrap in cellophane wrapping.  Put the card in bag with front

of card facing down to be visible.

        7.  May include a Christmas or Easter Tract, which can be inserted in the card.

I plan to make a card up on my computer and then give it to the Chaplain at BCC to run off - you may want to consider doing this also, or do it up at your own local church.

I have some Christian Tracts I ordered from Gospel Tract Society you may wish to use, or maybe you have a tract you would like to use instead.

Please contact Bob Ventura( 725-2733), Peter Kanygin (727-4775)  or your Pastor if you have any questions concerning this project.   This project will be for Easter 2000.

Thank you for your cooperation in this project.  I'm sure the inmates will appreciate your extension of love and concern for them as a church and community.  God Bless You!
