Pitch Black
Directed by David N.Twohy

Confession Time: I missed the first 20 or so minutes of this movie. Those 20 or so minutes, had the back story of Riddick (Vin Diesel) getting his eyes polished and the crashing off a transport ship.

I came in when the surviors of the crash are looking for water and find a huge skeleton graveyard of what looked like elephants to me.

Like in every good situation, they ponder what could have possible done this?

They finally come across an abandon settlement, which has running water and a useable craft they can use to get off the planet.

But then they learn that when night falls upon the planet a terrible evil is released from below the surface, to feed upon anything they see.

This movie quite surprised me in how good it was. You have a bunch of unknown actors, a plot rehash of ALIENS, and the worlds lamest weapon against these monsters.

For most people this will probably the first movie you'll see Vin Diesel in and inmediately after seeing him, you'll like him. Even has the bad guy, you'll root for him.

I'm really surprised this movie didn't do better at the theaters, by the time it was finished it only made $39.2 million.

This movie will definitely become a cult classic on home video.
