I'm kinda lost with this movie. I mean, it was OK.. but it wasn't great. It also doesn't really fit in with the continuity of the series. The sad fact is, that this movie could be taken out, and you wouldn't even notice. It's kind of refreshing, while at the same time being annoying.. Confused yet? On with the review.
Ronny just moved to elm street, coincidently into the same house as the house that "Nancy" had so much trouble with a few years back. *lucky guy* By the way, that's the ONLY link to the series, besides Freddy that this movie has. He starts having bad dreams about some guy in a red and green sweater, and eventually ends up as Freddy's personal puppet to do all his evil deeds for him.
For some reason in this movie, Freddy uses Ron and eventually disposes of him (In a very cool FX scene) and comes into the real world. He Then wreaks havoc on a teen girl's pool party. Fires errupt, Beer cans explode, the pool boils, and the hotdogs explode.. (scary huh......) Then freddy appears and kills a few people. Kind of ho-hum stuff compared to later installments of the series.
Like I said, the deaths were very "ho-hum" I mean, don't expect any cool special effects, or witty remarks during the deaths. The perverted, S&M loving, Gym teacher's death was decent, but not very creative if you ask me. The only other death besides the "suprise" ending, was Ron's bully friend, who was stabbed through the chest against his bedroom door. Freddy's claws poked through the door, while his father watched him die.
The only other notable scene was when Freddy broke out of Ron's body and went on his teenage ass kick'n rampage.
Ok movie.. I like the later "cheesier" Freddy movies better though. That's just my opinion though. With a low death count ( I counted 4 ) This movie is only for people who want to see the WHOLE series, because like I said, this movie could be left out altogether, and no one would notice.

Funny Things I Noticed
Only thing I noticed was that this movie doesn't fit into the continuity of the series and could be cut from it altogether and no one would ever notice.
