To me, This CD is slightly sentimental. "The Game" is the first song I heard on the radio when I crossed over into Washington state to be with my girlfriend. I had no Idea who it was, until we went on a trip to Palm Springs, The house we stayed at had full fledged cable (something I miss) and I saw the video for "Stupify" I was hooked.. I bought the CD as soon as I saw it in the stores. They wern't widely known then, and the CD only cost $8.99. I've listened to it UMTEEN times and know just about every song word for word.

There are those who say they they just rip off other bands like metalica, and alice in Chains. Yes I admit there are some simularities in the song styles but I consider Disturbed to be almost a modern day omage to older bands. Once you hear the Voice of  David Draiman you'll be hooked.

My favorite songs on the CD would have to be "The Game", "Voices", and "Down With The Sickness" They all have distinct flavors to them, ranging from the instruments used, to the powerful voice David uses.

Although I love this CD, there is however some bad points.. The song "Down With The Sickness" has a pretty stupid end part where he cries about his mommie.. I felt it was pretty unecessary. It's also very cheesy.
One other problem I have with this CD is the song "Droppin Plates" I guess I' not really into 'rap-core' cuz this song just annoys me. *hehe*

Other that that the CD is great, and definatly worth picking up.
One thing to note, There is a version of this CD floating around that has an extra track on it called "God of the Mind" This is an awesome track.. See if you can find it. Or atleast "nap" it.

9 out of 10
(half a point deducted each for the "mommie" part, and the stupid song "Droppin Plates")
