American Psycho
Directed by Mary Harron

Has anyone else notice the crap load of based on book movies lately??

American Psycho is based on the book by Brett Easton Ellis, it tells the story of Patrick Bateman (played by Christain Bale) a businees man in the mid-80's who happens to have a psychotic edge to him.

For a 102 mintues you get to watch Bateman go around and kill people. From business associates to hookers to bums and animals, Bateman doesn't give a fuck you he kills.

Since I never read the book, I don't how well the film was translated. There were some scenes I found absolutely hilarious, take the first officail kill of the movie . Bateman invites Paul Allen, a businees associate, to his apartment.

Bateman puts on a "Huey Lewis and the News" cd on and starts telling Allen how much he likes them while at the same time he's putting a raincoat on.

As this very momnet in the movie you're wodering what the hell is going on? but then it comes clear when Bateman smashed Allen in the head with an axe. He didn't want to get blood on his suit.

Theres also some cool little horror moments in it. Bateman is working out and on the TV is TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE and when he kills the hookers he chases one of the arounf with a chainsaw.

I for one, loved this movie event hought the ending leaves little to be desired. It leaves you wondering, "Was it a dream or did he really do it?

I for one think its a dream, maybe I should get the book, maybe it has a more concrete ending.

I was likey enough to get a brand new copy of this at a GOING OUT OF BUSINESS sale, this is definitely a movie you'll want for your collection.
