Spineshank: Height of Callousness
While this album is plenty heavy, and overall better (in my opinion) than their first effort.  And now that they have their own sound, not the Deftones wannabe sound many have claimed they had, Spineshank's sophomore album "Height of Callousness" is AWFULLY SHORT.  37 minutes to be exact.  This may leave much to be desired once the CD has played through to the end.  Be prepared for some heavy thrashing tracks, and the occasional metal-techno bastard child.  This isn't necessarily a *bad* thing, but... damn.  Heavy stuff.

Another thing I noticed is that all the more polished-sounding tracks' lyrics were done by the drummer.  Let me just say, Tommy Decker knows how to write a good song.  You'll find yourself hooked to the first 5 tracks, like I am.  The overall theme of the album i would consider as Self-Regret/Despite... somewhere along those lines.  Unlike Staind, or Papa Roach  (2 other depression bands.. gotta love em)  the guys in Spineshank really know the Height of Callousness, so to speak.  I'll say it again.  Heavy. Stuff.
If you like industrial metal, or just heavy thrashing music, and some pretty good lyrics (enclosed with the CD if you can't decipher them alone), definitely pick this up.  It MAY be a little on the short side, with cd-length, but it's made up for with some damn good music.

9 out of 10.
