Update 10/25/00

I'm sorry for the lack of updates in this section. I'll work my hardest to keep it updated in the future.

I really want to get the count on reviews up and the overall quality of the site, before I deal with a news section. Other members may post news if they wish, but I'm going to stick to other aspects of the site.

Columbia Tri-Star Home Video is bringing Godzilla 2000 to DVD in December (actually no one brings Godzilla anywhere...but he will be arriving).
Both an American and Japanese version of the disc will be available with the Japanese version featuring Japanese language only and the American version featuring English and French dubbing and English and French subtitles.
Both discs will be feature 16X9-enhanced widescreen transfers. Bonus features will include a commentary from editor Michael Mahoney, Supervising Sound Editor Darren Paskal and Sony Pictures Releasing Executive Michael Schlessinger on the English version, as well as behind-the-scenes special effects footage, theatrical trailers, bios (including one of Godzilla!) and production notes.
The discs are scheduled for release on December 26th. Theyll carry a suggested retail price of $24.95.

This could be the world's greatest news update for any fan of George Romero's Dead Trilogy. This past friday, Smilin' Jack Ruby attended a party set-up by Anchor Bay Entertainment, he got a chance to interview Mr. Romero.

In the interview he asked Romero about the movie we learn that the movie won't be named Twilight of the Dead and that Anchor Bay may be financing the picture.

So no matter what, this film will see the light of day on either the big screen or the small screen.

Also George still hasn't finished the script. So it'll probably be a while til he starts it. Get cracking George, we want it now!!

Its time to relive your child hood again. Thanks to the fine folks at Rhino Video, they acquired the rights to show Transformers The Movie in its fullest uncut form on DVD. It's coming out on Oct. 24. Mark the date and buy this bad boy!

Adam Sandler has signed on to do a remake of the 1936, "Mr. Deed Goes to Town". If you haven't heard of it before don't worry, neither have I. Its about a Greeting Card writer who inherits a fortune. Sounds like "Waking Ned Divine".

Also, theres talk of "Meet The Parents 2".

Update 10/9/00

A new Sci Fi/Action/Comedy is on the horizon from DreamWorks. It's called "Evolution". Supposedly, David Duchovny (The X-Files) and Julianne Moore's (The Big Lebowski) have signed on to this new sci-fi flick. Orlando Jones (The Replacements, 7-UP commercials, former MadTV member) is also in negotiations to join the cast.
The story follows a meteorite full of single-celled organisms crashing to earth. Alien organisms start evolving, then bad things happen..
Its going to be directed by none other than Ivan Reitman, and filming starts this month.

Just a little Batman news for you guys.

Paul Newman has signed on to star in the live action "Batman Beyond" movie to play the role of the older Bruce Wayne. Terry McGuiness(Batman) has not been cast yet, but  Keanu Reeves is rumored.

Also the release of the long awaited "Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker" has been
kicked back from October 24th to December 12 due to cut away some of the "darkness" of the film, to make it suitable for a younger audiance. From what I have heard / read, this movie has been given rave reviews.
