FatBoySlim: Halfway Between the Gutter and the Stars
Fatboy Slim's follow-up to his multi-platinum "You've Come a Long Way, Baby" may not be liked by everyone.  Only true Fbs fans will probably find this new album to be a perfect successor to "YCALWB".  This time around, there are no 'Funk Soul Brotha's.  Just good ol' FBS house.  Also new from Fbs are voice collaborations.  Such guest vocals as Roland Clark, Bootsy Collins, and Macy Gray make this album stand out from the rest of Mr. Cook's pack.  Not mention the more fluid transitions from track to track was a nice touch as well.

While a few tracks are good to keep a party going, "HBTGATS" is by no means a party album.  Norman Cook has dug deeper into the soul and spirituality of the house type music this time around.  While this may sound odd for Fbs listeners, just listen to this Cd and you'll know why Fatboy Slim has chosen this route.  Halfway Between the Gutter and the Stars, while not as great as the world-renowned 'You've Come a Long Way, Baby', in my opinion, it at least comes damn near close.

A vote for Fatboy Slim is a vote for Nonsense.  I'll take nonsense!

This freak-ass RaVeR dork gives HBTGATS a
9.
