The New BSC: About

Synopsis: It's five years down the road and the original sitters are in their first year of college. They've now handed the club over to some of their former sitting charges who are now old enough to be sitters themselves. Here is a list of events that happened in Stoneybrook since....

JANUARY

Carolyn's Great Idea - Carolyn Arnold, the president of the New Baby-sitters Club, announces the opening of the NBSC online! Marilyn (VP), Margo (member), Maria (associate officer), Karen (member), Charlotte (secretary), Rosie (treasurer), and James (associate officer) are online.

- Rumor has it that Derek Masters is coming back to Stoneybrook. He has been in L.A. filming his new movie, Am I Really Here?, with co-star Cam Geary. Charlotte wonders if he might like to join the NBSC.

FEBRUARY

- Charlotte Johanssen posts some of the new clients of the NBSC, meaning the old club never sat for them! The newest clients are the Bondurants, the Buttons, the Dryers, the Harmans, the Lorenzens, the Mercers, and the Morales. Rosie Wilder announces that Mrs. Rodriguez (a client), is four months pregnant with the family's fourth child.

- Derek Masters returns to SMS, and joins the board. He is the first non-member, and the first (and only) celebrity. Non-club members really aren't supposed to post on the board, but no one seems to mind. (Gee, wonder why?) Marilyn emails the entire club, asking if they should ask him to join. No one can stop screaming long enough to give her a straight answer. Becca suggests that they get to know him better first. They vote on Marilyn to ask Derek to attend a meeting. To everyone's amazement, he does.

- As editor of the SMS Express, the task of interviewing Stoneybrook's celebrity falls to none other than Charlotte Johanssen. Shy Charlotte reluctantly asks him if he'll do the interview, and he accepts. During the interview, Charlotte and Derek begin to develop crushes on each other.

MARCH

- Becca Ramsey has a birthday!

- On a sitting job at the Rodowsky's, Marilyn finds out from Archie that Jackie wants to join the message board. She asks the others if they think they should allow their school friends to join, adding: "I don't see why we couldn't let some other kids from school post, too. Maybe it'll catch on and be a big hit! What does everybody think about this?" Before anyone else can answer, Jackie has already joined. ("Hey Marilyn! I hope it's fine that I already joined. Har har, impatient little bugger that I am.") Thus, Jackie leads the revolution to bring the non-NBSCers to the board.

- Becca Ramsey asks for help in Pre-Algebra, and James Hobart answers her request.

- The SMS Express comes out with an issue, featuring Charlotte's story on Derek Masters.

- Derek has an audition job for the NBSC.

- Matt Braddock joins the board. In December, Matt was mainstreamed into SMS after previously attending the Stamford School for the Deaf. He is hoping to make new friends. His wish is granted when he meets Rosie Wilder and develops a crush on her. They IM each other, and Rosie asks Matt to teach her sign language.

- Becca starts volunteering at Stoneybrook Manor.

- Nicky Pike and David Michael Thomas join the board.

- Derek Masters becomes the newest member of the NBSC.

Marilyn's Mystery Admirer - Jackie Rodowsky decides to win over Marilyn Arnold, the girl of his dreams, by becoming her secret admirer. With Matt Braddock as his only witness, Jackie slips a pre-ordered copy of Hanson's latest release into her backpack. Charlotte is with her when she finds the anonymous gift with a note from "Head Over Heels."

- Carolyn finds out about Matt's family problems from his sister and her friend, Haley. Matt tries to explain that he feels like his family is pressuring him to get cochlear implants now that he attends SMS.

- Margo announces that track practices have started, and she is running the 800 m and the mile. She invites the group to come see her and Matt at the first meet.

- Marilyn Arnold loses first chair to another french horn player, Tyson Grant.

APRIL

- Lindsey DeWitt joins the boards on April 1. (April Fools'!) She introduces herself with a sarcastic comment and promises that she'll be coming back to spice things up a bit. (And, boy she means it, too!)

- Jackie Disaster #802,239: Jackie sends Matt into the band hall to fill Marilyn's french horn case with Hershey Kisses, but they end up in the wrong case. Marilyn thanks her Secret Admirer on the boards anyway, saying that it was okay that the kisses went in the wrong case. She's still "flattered."

- Hannie Papadakis joins the board.

- Matt helps Jackie give another Secret Admirer, but unknowingly gets caught. In the act of putting sheet music and a single rose on Marilyn's stand, Rosie Wilder sees him. She tells Marilyn, and both girls are distraught because they thought Matt liked Rosie. Rosie then cold-shoulders Matt, leaving him bewildered. (No pun intended, ha.)

- Betsy Sobak, Stoneybrook's merry prankster, joins the board. Certain people are alarmed that the notorious Ms. Sobak is now in their company.

- When Carolyn goes to the Braddocks' to hang with Haley, she winds up talking to Matt. She thinks that Matt is the one sending notes to her sister. What she finds out is that Matt is actually interested in Rosie, and he is helping the real secret admirer, Jackie Rodowsky. Feeling terrible for spilling the beans, Matt swears Carolyn to secrecy. He asks Carolyn to tell Rosie it wasn't him, and she does.

- Becca announces her plans to attend a month-long summer program at Spelman College where she will take seminars on leadership and possibly writing, which is one of her passions.

- Buddy Barrett joins the board!

- Charlotte Johannssen goes to NYC for Spring Break.

Buddy's Wicked Step-sister - The NBSC execute a successful day camp during Spring Break with some help from their friends. Betsy helps out, hoping to score points with the club members; she wants to join. Jackie tries to impress Marilyn during camp. On the final day, they hold a big softball game for the kids. At the game, Lindsey DeWitt gets her hands on the note in which Jackie reveals himself as Marilyn's Secret Admirer. Jackie's plan is ruined when Lindsey reads the note to the entire camp, humiliating both Marilyn and Jackie.

Matt Likes Mary Rose! - During a sign language lesson, Matt admits his crush on Rosie. She tells him that she likes him, too. Matt doesn't really know where to go from here.

- James holds auditions for a play that he's written and plans to videotape. Matt is his cameraman. Derek, Jackie, Carolyn, Rosie, Becca, Margo, and Lindsey all audition. Rosie and Derek, the experienced actors, receive the leading roles. The other parts are given to Jackie, Becca, and Margo.

- Lindsey apologizes to Marilyn for revealing the big secret, but her motives are selfish. Buddy's mother and Lindsey's father have decided that the more responsible, well-behaved eldest child will receive his or her own room. Marilyn says she will not accept Lindsey's apology unless she also apologizes to Jackie. However, Lindsey refuses.

- Shy Susie Albion joins the board.

- The SMS chapter of SADD has a meeting to discuss the annual fundraiser. To Charlotte's horror, Carolyn's suggestion for Win a Date With Derek Masters is a big hit with everyone... including Derek? In reality, Derek doesn't realize what he's volunteered himself for until it's too late to turn back.

- Karen Brewer snags her "first official middle school boyfriend," a boy at her school named Brody. She posts a picture of herself with him on the board.

- The NBSC throws a party to thank their friends who helped them with the day camp.

- During the party, they ask if anyone is interested in joining the club. Hannie, Betsy, and Myriah become the new trainees.

- Matt and Jackie plan a picnic for their first double date with Marilyn and Rosie. Jackie invites Marilyn to the Spring Fling, which is coming up. Matt doesn't invite Rosie, however, and explains later that the idea of a dance makes him uncomfortable. When Rosie says she won't go if he doesn't go, Matt reluctantly agrees to it.

- Buddy gets his own room. (Too bad, Lindsey.)

- Nicky asks Hannie to the Spring Fling (set for May 1). Buddy Barrett gets forced into taking his step-brother's date, Rachel, to the dance when Taylor (his step-brother) gets sick. Lindsey says she won't be going; instead, she'll be stuck taking care of her sick brother.

- Buddy and Jackie jam together. Buddy's a budding guitarist (har, har) and our Walking Disaster is a drummer. After a jam session, they discover they play well together. Then - BOOM! - inspiration strikes. They decide they should form a band with the other talented musicians they know.

- And speaking of music, Marilyn beats Tyson Grant in another challenge, claiming first chair again.

MAY (We are going by days now, due to an increase in activity in the RPG)

- Dana Cheplin joins the board.

Spring Fling, Stoneybrook's Spring Dance is held:

-Buddy Barrett goes and Mr. Kingbridge yells at him because of Rachel, his date; Rachel runs off with another guy.

-Matt and Rosie dance together; he kisses her on the cheek.

-Jackie asks Marilyn to be his girlfriend; she says yes!

-Hannie Papadakis goes to Spring Fling with Nicky Pike.

- Tickets go on sale for the "Win a Date with Derek Masters" fundraiser. Girls flock to buy more than one.

- Rosie Wilder announces that her parents have been planning on adopting a little Russian girl (a 6-month-old baby) and that they are leaving to pick her up next week.

- Brittany Taylor joins the board.

- Adrienne Garvey joins the board to stir things up with her best friend, Lindsey.

Rosie and the World's Cutest Baby - Rosie shows the boards her sister's picture for the first time: an adorable baby girl with big blue eyes and soft wisps of blonde hair, named Natasha.

- Matt invites Dana to join he and Rosie for a signing lesson since she says is interested in learning.

- Lindsey DeWitt gets her belly button pierced at the mall with Karen Brewer.

- Mother's Day

- Susie Albion announces that her mother is getting remarried. She will also be gaining two stepsiblings - Sadie, who is 9, and Jonathan, who is 6. She feels a little overwhelmed by this.

- Becca worries about her Aunt Cecelia, who doesn't seem to be feeling well.

- The Win a Date with Derek Masters assembly is held! Charlotte Johanssen, president of SADD (the sponsoring club) wins the date, even though she only bought one ticket (some people suspect it is fixed); Carolyn is extremely disappointed, while Derek is extremely pleased.

- James Hobart's hold his first play rehearsal.

- Carolyn reports that Betsy impressed her on her BSC training job.

- Matt helps Rosie prepare for the arrival of her new sister. He also confides in her about considering cochlear implants; later, they become an official couple. Also, Natasha comes home!

- Buddy and Jackie announce auditions for a band they're starting.

- Bryant Phillips is the first sixth grader to join the board.

- Quote of the month: "I understand girls can get like that during that time of the month." - Jackie Rodowsky

- Becca Ramsey and Myriah Perkins make plans for Myriah's first training job for NBSC.

Welcome to the NBSC, Betsy - Betsy Sobak becomes a member of NBSC.

Charlotte + Derek = ? - Charlotte and Derek go on their (Win-A-)Date and admit that they like each other. Soon after that, they begin dating each other in secret.

- Lindsey DeWitt has a birthday. Adrienne Garvey throws her a surprise slumber party and invites Carolyn, Margo, and Karen.

- Jackie and Buddy hold band auditions. Marilyn, Bryant, Adrienne, and Dana audition. Tone-deaf Carolyn auditions to be the band's promoter by pitching them guys her skills as an agent. Buddy and Jackie are impressed with everyone, except for Adrienne who they can't stand.

31 (Memorial Day)

- Maria Kilbourne has a big pool party at her house.

- The Pikes return from their mini-vacation in NYC for Memorial Day weekend.

JUNE

- Color War Fever begins! For the final week of school (starting Friday), SMS will have a school-wide color war. The eighth graders are blue, the seventh graders are green, and the sixth graders are red.

- Becca reports that Myriah impressed her on her BSC training job.

- It's Day One of Color War, and the sixth graders take an early lead! "Don't Mess With the Red!" Myriah's baking skills help her team win the bake-off, and Taylor DeWitt scores points in the candy eating contest.

Jackie and The Trouble with Twins - In addition to the activities, people dress in color-coordinated costumes. When Marilyn and Carolyn dress as matching twin Martians, complete with wigs, Jackie mixes them up. Marilyn causes further problems by pretending to be Carolyn and making Jackie furious at her. However, they make up in the same day... and have their first kiss!

- Bryant asks Matt if he will teach him some signing so that they can "talk". Matt is already teaching Dana and Rosie and is happy to have another friend who wants to learn.

Hello, Myriah! - Myriah Perkins becomes the first junior member of NBSC.

- It's Day Two of Color War, and the "Mean Green Fighting Machine" (the seventh graders) are the big winners for this day.

- When Hannie Papadakis posts pictures of her family, including her older brother Linny, Lindsey DeWitt is impressed and asks if Linny is single.

- It's Day Three of Color War, and the seventh graders are the big winners again! The eighth grade has some serious catching up to do. Rosie Wilder wins the portrait contest for her grade. Carolyn Arnold is the proud winner of the Most Original Outfit contest. Jackie surprises everyone by rescuing his teammates from the jail in Capture the Flag and causing his team to win the game.

- It's Day Four of Color War, and the eighth graders are the big winners of the day. Blue Attitude! Becca helps her team win the instant limerick contest, Rosie helps her team win the math contest, Jackie trips in the tire race, and Jake Kuhn and Tyson Grant provide muscle power in tug-of-war.

- Susie posts her end of year art project on the board, a pastel painting of a cat.

- On Day Five of Color War, the seventh graders increase their lead. Matt and Charlotte compete in speed chess, and Matt wins it. Becca and her partner win the three-legged race.

- On the last day of school and the last day of Color War, the seventh graders are declared the winners. Buddy wolfs down Snickers Bar to win a contest and makes himself kind of sick! In the Dunk-a-Teacher contest, Charlotte dunks Mr. Kingbridge and Jackie dunks Mr. Zizmore.

- The first day of summer vacation!

- Betsy goes to Maine for two weeks.

- Matt announces that his mom is teaching an ASL I class on Tuesday and Thurday nights, and encourages people to sign up if they want something to do for the summer.

- Jackie and Buddy arrange for Hannie to audition for the band (since she was sick when the first audition was held).

Matt's Choice - Matt tells Rosie that his final decision is not to get cochlear implants.

- Hannie auditions for Buddy and Jackie's band.

- Rosie dances in a big recital with her dance class.

- Father's Day

- Bryant the Annoying Photographer Guy posts random pictures that he's taken at inopportune times during the school year.

- After getting to know Bryant by being his science tutor, Carolyn emails him to do non-science stuff together, like seeing a movie. In his reply, Bryant answers that he'd like to see Spiderman 2 if she wants to. He also mentions that he signed up for swimming lessons during the summer to prepare for swim team tryouts at SMS.

- Buddy and Jackie announce their band members. It's Buddy on guitar, Jackie on drums, Bryant on bass, Marilyn on keyboards, Dana on lead vocals, and Hannie on backup vocals. And the band's promoter is Carolyn Arnold.

- Rosie reports that Hannie impressed her on her NBSC training job.

- First day of the ASL I class taught by Mrs. Braddock.

Welcome to the NBSC, Hannie - Hannie Papadakis becomes the newest member of the NBSC.

- After learning that Haley and Shea are officially a couple, Matt emails Jackie to determine whether Shea is worthy of his sister. Jackie succeeds in calming Matt down (a little). The families are planning on a dinner together.

- Charlotte Johanssen has a birthday!

- The band has their first rehearsal in Buddy's garage. Lindsey comes around to hassle them. "Hmm, 6 days 'til your first gig and you haven't played a single note together. What a shame. Buddy, try not to ruin my reputation, okay?" They talk about names for the band, and Marilyn comes up with the one that fits. The band now has a name - Firecracker! Not everyone is happy about this; Jackie is jealous that he didn't get to name the band.

- Derek mentions the Off-Broadway play he'll be doing until the end of the summer.

- Matt posts birthday wishes to his all-time favorite sitter, Jessi Ramsey.

JULY

- The Rodowskys and the Braddocks have a dinner; Haley and Shea kiss in front of Jackie and Matt; Matt gets mad while Jackie laughs.

- Lindsey recieves a phone call from her biological mother, who she has not been in contact with for over five years.

- Matt films a Firecracker practice. After the practice, Jackie, Matt and Buddy have a guys' talk - they convince Buddy to ask Dana out.

- David Michael asks for NBSC help for compiling kids for the New Krushers.

4 (Independance Day)

- Firecracker performs their first gig at Stoneybrook's 4th of July block party at Brenner Field!

- Marilyn and Jackie get into a fight over Marilyn's constant criticism of Jackie and his jealousy that she came up with the band name. Bryant Phillips shocks everyone by telling them to shut up. Jackie and Mar make up afterwards but it's only the beginning of their troubles...

- Buddy and Dana watch fireworks together - Buddy asks her out and Dana says yes!

- Becca leaves for Spelman College in Atlanta.

- Matt Braddock's birthday! NBSC and friends throw him a surprise party at Good Time Charley's. One of his birthday presents is a Golden Retriever puppy who is christened Sandy.

- Bryant and Susie start swimming lessons at the Y.

- Moira Phillips, older sister of Bryant, joins the board.

Sea City, Here We Come! - The Pikes leave for Sea City.

- David Michael recruits the help of Bryant, Matt and Margo for the New Krushers. He also asks Karen to be cheerleader to the young girls; Karen misinterprets this and assumes the Three Musketeers will be cheerleaders themselves.

- Firecracker shoots their first music video in Maria Kilbourne's swimming pool.

- Buddy and Lindsey, who have been fighting for the past few says, finally reconcile after being locked in a room by Mr. and Mrs. DeWitt. Lindsey reveals her amazing singing voice to Buddy and tells Buddy about her mother calling - the two of them bond.

- Buddy and Dana go on their first date - they watch Anchorman. They both have a good time - Bud is indeed a stud!

- The Barretts/DeWitts leave for their road trip - they'll hit Sea City, New York, Niagara Falls and Canada! *hums Oh! Canada* No one questions how a family with seven kids can afford this.

- Sea City update - Nicky is not having a good time because he feels left out since the triplets have each other and he's stuck with the girls.

- Marilyn, Jackie and Bryant both volunteer to be models for Susie's drawings.

- Dana leaves with her brother for Chicago to visit their father.

- Rosie Wilder's birthday!

- Becca updates from Spelman College with pictures of CNN Headquarters.

- A NBSC client, Mrs. Rodriquez gives birth to a baby boy named Miguel.

- Matt leaves for Camp Isola Bella in Taconic, CT.

- In Sea City, the Pikes run into the Barretts/DeWitts. Margo and Lindsey hit the boardwalk to find guys while Lindsey's little brother Taylor stays behind and finds the message board....

- Taylor DeWitt joins the board!

- Jackie and Bryant plan a trip to Stamford. (Woo-hoo...)

- Dana updates from Chicago.

Betsy Breaks the Rules - Betsy makes the mistake of putting her dribble glass in her kidkit while babysitting for Andrea Prezzioso. When Mrs. P returns home, Andrea is crying and has juice all over the front of her white party dress. Mr. P pays her an extra $5 for her troubles, but the every-prissy Mrs. Prezzioso isn't so amused.

- The Pikes return from Sea City.

- Moira Phillips falls in love with the idea of owning a pet geiko, thanks to one-too-many viewings of the Geico geiko commercials.

- During a club meeting, Mrs. Prezzioso calls to complain about Betsy. Marilyn, who answers the call, quickly becomes upset. Lines are drawn as Charlotte, Marilyn, and Rosie fire at Betsy with easy-going Margo as Betsy's only supporter. Betsy leaves the meeting in tears when she's asked not to attend the next meeting. After she leaves, the club members in attendance discuss putting Betsy on probation.

- Matt receives a letter from Bryant and writes him back. He tells Bryant about Catalina, a girl at camp who wants to go to a boy-girl social with him. Matt asks for advice on what to do, since he is going out with Rosie.

- Margo tells David Michael that she will help him with the New Krushers.

- While in NYC, Lindsey tells Taylor about their mother calling. Taylor becomes angry about the possibility of seeing her again. The secret about the call stays between Lindsey and Taylor.

- Matt writes to Nicky, David Michael, Jackie, and Rosie. He asks the guys what he should do about Catalina, but says nothing about her to Rosie.

Carolyn and the Bad Baby-sitter - As president of the NBSC, it is Carolyn's job to call Betsy and tell her that she's on probation from the club until further notice. She does not like being the one to do it since she was not for putting Betsy on probation.

- On the last day of ASL I, each member of the class signs a nursery rhyme for their final project. Archie Rodowsky makes the girls giggle with his rendition of "This Little Piggy," and Jackie impresses everyone with his version of "The Eensy Weensy Spider." Not all the Rodowsky brothers are skilled signers. Shea shocks the crowd, especially Mrs. Braddock and Haley, when he accidentaly uses a vulgar sign in his presentation.

- Jackie sends a package to Matt with a letter telling him about Shea's big mistake. He includes the poloroid pictures he took to capture the looks on everyone's faces.

- Rosie posts pictures of Miguel Rodriguez, new baby of NBSC clients.

- Lindsey posts on the board from an internet cafe on the way to Niagara Falls. She gives an update on the trip, especially NYC and the Broadway production of 'Beauty and the Beast' (Belle looks remarkably like Lindsey herself. Hmm.)

- After a brief absense, Myriah returns to the board. She announces that she's signed up for a dance camp for two weeks in August. ((ooc note: new player))

- Becca returns home from Spelman College.

- Moira posts a picture of her new pet, Steve the Gecko. For some reason, Moira's new pet reptile and her brother Bryant are not getting along.

- Taylor updates the group on the DeWitt/Barrett marathon vacation. He talks about Niagara Falls, USA; Niagara Falls, Canada; and Marineland.

- Susie emails Jackie and Marilyn to set a date for when she can draw them.

- Bryant goes home with Susie after swimming practice to be her subject for a portrait. While she draws him, Bryant and Susie talk and get to know each other better.

- Jackie invites everyone to Archie's birthday party.

- While at camp, Matt writes a letter to his best friend Jake Kuhn who is also at a summer camp (and has been there all summer with his sisters). In the letter, Matt suggests that Laurel and Jake both check out the message board if they have Internet access at camp and gives them the address.

- On the board, Taylor gives the group the details about the family's visit to Toronto and Hamilton, two large Canadian cities. He talks about a girl in Hamilton named Ashley who, according to Tay, was hitting on both him and Buddy.

- Myriah boasts that she might be getting a job sitting for her little sisters until 11:00 p.m., which is a very big deal for this junior member who normally can't sit past 9:30.

- Carolyn catches up on her e-mails, writing to Bryant, Moira, Lindsey and Marilyn. (She's writing to Marilyn to warn her that she may be in for 'the talk' from their mother; Mrs. Arnold has just traumatized Carolyn by giving her 'the talk.')

- While at camp, Jake and Laurel ask their counselor, Ezra, if they can sign up for time to use the computers at camp. The Kuhns don't have the Internet at home.

- David Michael announces the kids that have been selected to be his New Krushers. The first practice is set for Tuesday, August 3.

- Derek Masters' off-Broadway play opens tonight.

- Melody Korman joins the board.

- Taylor DeWitt updates everyone on the big vacation. While in Toronto, they visited the Hockey Hall of Fame, Chinatown, and MuchMusic (Canada's MTV). Tomorrow, he says, they are headed back to Stoneybrook.

- Matt announces that he is home from camp.

- Myriah boasts that she is, in fact, going to babysit her sisters until almost midnight tonight. Her mother is taking every precaution to ensure that Myriah's job goes well.

- Rosie posts pictures of 9-month-old Natasha in her bathing suit. (So cute!)

- Dana announces that she and Adam are home from Chicago.

AUGUST

- The Barrett/DeWitts return from their whirlwind summer vacation.

- Betsy e-mails Carolyn about her probation.

- Charlotte goes over to Becca's to look at photos from Becca's stay at Spelman College. When Becca gushes about her roommate, Sabrina, Charlotte finds herself feeling very jealous. Charlotte hides her jealousy, pretending nothing is wrong.

- Taylor flirts with Rosie and annoys Matt.

- Laurel and Jake Kuhn join the board, posting from camp.

- Matt posts pictures of Sandy, his new puppy who is coming home to live with the Braddocks soon.

- Kellie Garcia joins the board.

- Myriah reports that her sitting job with her sisters went smoothly.

- Maria posts after a long absense and asks the NBSC if she can take more jobs. ((ooc note: new player))

- Becca congratulates James on the filming of his play.

- The ASL II class begins.

- Snobby Pamela Harding joins the board.

- Susie asks for suggestions for a wedding present for her mother and her soon-to-be stepfather, Mark.

- Carolyn has an idea for a huge NBSC Back-to-School picnic. Her idea is to invite not only all of the families the NBSC sits for, but also the original BSC.

- Carolyn e-mails Buddy about a Battle-of-the-Bands competition that she heard about on WSTO. She thinks Firecracker should enter and Buddy agrees.

- Druscilla Porter joins the board. She is living with her Morbida Destiny while her mother is on an extended business trip in Spain.

- Derek Masters is puzzled when his parents meet with his agent without him.

- Marilyn e-mails Jackie to complain about comments he's been making on the board. Later, she cold-shoulders him at the ASL II class. Jackie talks to Haley Braddock about his problems with Marilyn after class. Haley offers support if he needs it.

- Marilyn and Rosie leave for the band camp. Taylor, Jackie, and Bryant ponder the origin of the popular phrase "This one time at band camp..."

- Derek's movie premiere for Am I Really Here? is held in New York City. He attends with Charlotte as his date, who he has been dating secretly.

- Stoneybrook finds out about the celebrity couple, thanks to Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood and other gossip entertainment.

- Taylor's voice begins to deepen, causing his ego to soar.

- Sandy the puppy comes home to live with the Braddocks.

- Hannie Papadakis' birthday! Nicky treats her to a movie and ice cream.

Charlotte's Ex-Best Friend - Becca and Charlotte fight due to the fact that Becca did not know about Charlotte's relationship with Derek and had to find out on television and Charlotte's jealousy over Sabrina.

- Jackie and Haley Braddock go to the Washington Mall to do a project for ASL II, but it doesn't go as planned. The project winds up feeling more like a date to them as they flirt and enjoy each others' company. At the end of the date, er... project, Haley and Jackie share an unexpected kiss in the middle of the mall. They immediately panic, but then decide that no one they know. saw it. They are horribly, horribly wrong. Adrienne Garvey and Lindsey DeWitt have been spying on them the whole time. Even though Lindsey isn't exactly Marilyn's biggest fan, she doesn't think Jackie should get away with cheating on her.

- Rosie leaves on a family trip to Nantucket.

Marilyn's Broken Heart - When Marilyn gets home from band camp, she finds an e-mail from Lindsey, telling her about the kiss between Haley and Jackie. After sending Lindsey a nasty reply, Marilyn goes to Jackie's house to talk. Jackie is dreading her visit, worried that his secret will be leaked. They go to the basement to talk, and Marilyn is intent on finding out for sure that Lindsey's e-mail was full of lies. She's sure there was some fight, but when she learns otherwise, she's baffled. She tells Jackie about the e-mail... and he is caught. When Jackie tries to call it an accident and say that it meant nothing, Marilyn is too angry and hurt to buy into it. Crying hard, she pushes Jackie away and he falls over an ottoman. Shea chooses this moment to enter the basement and overhear Marilyn saying that he kissed Haley. As Marilyn runs out, Shea lunges for his brother and they fight. The Rodowsky parents break it up, and Jackie later gets grounded.

- Buddy has dinner over at the Cheplins; Adam embarrasses Dana.

- Dana decides to seek out revenge on Adam by e-mailing Taylor about Adam's first date. Adam is going out with Bernadette Monsoon, someone who Taylor affectionately calls 'Buckadette' due to her large buck teeth.

- The Kuhns return to Stoneybrook after spending three months at Camp Laurelwood. Matt and company throw them a surprise party.

Lindsey's Big Break- The cheerleaders perform a free show on Stoneybrook High School's field. While being hoisted by the girls, Lindsey falls and breaks her ankle. Being the great brother that he is, Taylor opts to flirt with the cheerleaders and show off his mature voice.

- Lindsey arrives at Stoneybrook General Hospital. She undergoes surgery on her ankle. Bad brother Taylor decides to go the Kuhns' party, while the good brother Buddy stays with Lindsey.

- Marilyn visits Lindsey at the hospital and apologizes for not believing her e-mail.

- Kyle, the message boards' resident player, e-mails Dana, asking her to accompany him to the record store in Stamford. He assures Dana that it isn't a date, but we all know better. Unfortunately, Dana doesn't.

- Karen visits Lindsey in the hospital and gives her a cowbell and whistle, which will annoy everyone in the Barrett/DeWitt household soon enough.

- Mr. Prezzioso calls the New BSC and informs them that Andrea has confessed that she drank out of the dribble glass on her own and that Betsy didn't pull a prank on her. All is forgiven and Betsy is back in NBSC!

- Bryant tries out for the SMS swim team and makes it.

- Outcast and droopy Natalie Springer joins the message board. She announces that she's transferring from SMS to KMS, mainly because she got ridiculed by Lindsey when she was at SMS.

- Rosie arrives back from Nantucket. Matt and Rosie have a serious talk in the park, in which they both make some pretty major confessions. Rosie confesses to getting a big crush on a boy while on vacation, and Matt admits the crush he had on a deaf girl at camp. They talk about the fact that their relationship is hard on both of them because Matt's deaf and Rosie's hearing. Matt worries that Rosie won't break up with him because she feels sorry for him. After a long talk, they decide to see other people.

Poor Jackie! - Jackie is allowed out of the house for Firecracker practice. He comes early so that he might have the chance to explain what happened with Marilyn to Buddy first. He has a run-in with Lindsey, who is home from the hospital, making Taylor be her slave. Jackie is very angry for all the trouble she's caused him.

They exchange words and Jackie kicks Lindsey's cast. Furious, she hurls a crutch at Jackie. He ducks, and it hits Taylor instead, who falls on a table. The table falls on Jackie, and the Mocha Frapps sitting on the table spill all over him. (Disaster, anyone?) Lindsey takes the opportunity to nail Jackie when he's down... in the crotch with a crutch. (All the boys say "Ohhh...")

Buddy comes running in and sees Jackie covered in the coffee drink and moaning in pain. He decides not to ask and simply takes Jackie into his room to get a shirt for him. Meanwhile, Taylor is on the phone, calling everyone he knows to tell them what he's just learned about Jackie, Marilyn and Haley.

Jackie never gets his chance to tell Buddy what happened. Dana arrives so Jackie figures he has to wait and tell everyone later. He excuses himself to the bathroom to survey the damage caused by Lindsey. While Jackie is gone, Buddy asks Dana if she has plans for Saturday. Dana tells him about her plans to go to the record store with Kyle Taylor. Buddy's jealously is immediately evident, and Dana gets upset.

Jackie returns as Hannie and Marilyn arrive. Jackie and Marilyn both weren't expecting the other one to be there; Marilyn thought Jackie was grounded, and Jackie thought Marilyn just wouldn't show. The other band members begin realize that something has happened by the way Jackie and Marilyn are acting. When they ask for an explanation, Taylor DeWitt pops in to explain the story. Taylor, who was just on the phone with Adam Cheplin, also announces that Kyle Taylor has called for Dana.

In the heat of the moment, Marilyn quits/Jackie throws her out of the band. When she leaves, Buddy tells Jackie that he did a stupid thing and cancels practice.

Whew!

- Carolyn announces her grand plan to hold a huge NBSC picnic ... and to invite the former members of The Baby-Sitters Club!

- Derek Masters' birthday!

- Taylor barges in on Adam's date with Bernadette, wearing fake buck teeth. Bernadette leaves angrily, leaving a speechless Adam (a FIRST!) with Taylor. Adam lashes out at Taylor, giving him the worst insult possible - Taylor is just like Lindsey!

- After talking to good guy Bryant, Taylor adopts a new mantra: What Would Lindsey Not Do?

The NBSC Picnic! Old club members attend. Lots of exciting stuff happens here:

Marilyn's Makeover - Introducing Marilyn Monroe! Marilyn makes her grand entrance at the picnic as a blonde, which Jackie disapproves of. She also meets Micah Monroe, Maria Kilbourne's cousin and 9th grader at SHS, much to Jackie's dismay.

- Stacey and Charlotte have a heart-to-heart; Stacey advises Charlotte that she could make up with Becca.

Betsy and the Bad Joke - Betsy and Claudia finally talk since Betsy broke Claudia's ankle five years ago. When it seems all is forgiven, Betsy confesses that she still does practical jokes, which leaves Claudia disgusted. - During a rehearsal, a troubled Firecracker bombs. Buddy is distracted by Dana and Kyle, Jackie is fixated on Micah and Marilyn, and well ... they blow their performance. Fortunately, Logan saves the day by bringing in his guitar and rocking out with the band.

- Dawn advises Buddy that he should forgive Jackie.

- The BSC sure is good at giving advice. Jessi gives Matt this little piece of wisdom she learned from her grandmother: "Those of us who don't fit in or who stick out are usually the strongest, most interesting people"

- School begins! ((ooc note: Like in the BSC series, our characters are mysteriously returned to the same grades they were previously in and no one notices.))

Marilyn vs. Jackie - In Mr. Fiske's 5th grade period English class, Marilyn shows off her newfound attitude when Jackie is stuck sitting next to her: "I don't think Jackie should sit next to me. I'm worried he might CHEAT off of me". If that's not bad enough, she calls him by his real name, 'Jacques'!

- Taking Dawn's advice, Buddy apologizes to Jackie. All is forgiven. Our kids sure are a forgiving bunch, aren't they? (With the exception of Marilyn to Jacques ...)

Girl-crazy Taylor - With raging hormones, Taylor accidentally posts on the message board "There are so many hot chicks at SMS. OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG!" Quite embarrassing for someone who tries to pass himself off as a mature and suave.

- Amanda Delaney joins the message board. Her daddy is now president of a law firm and they're richer (and snobbier) than ever before.

- Kyle Taylor plans to revive his brother's old team, the Bashers.

- Becca and Charlotte make up! Nothing can tear these two apart.

- Laurel and Bryant play basketball together. They pinky swear to each other that they'll only change for the better.

- Susie informs the message board about her mother's remarriage. She is now living with her stepfather and stepsiblings.

Jackie and the Older Girl - Haley instant messages Jackie, asking him out a date. He accepts, as long as its kept secret.

- Lindsey e-mails Marilyn to tell her that Linny said Micah thought Mar was cute. Marilyn tells Lindsey that she's going to be babysitting for Micah's little sister, Norah.

- Nancy invites everyone to a Back-to-School Hawaiian themed pool party.

- Marilyn makes snide remarks to Jackie's post on the board.

- Margo e-mails Karen to say she's allowed to go to Shadow Lake with them for Labor Day weekend.

- Becca posts to say she is worried about an NBSC client, Alison Lorenzen, who is going through a tough time because she doesn't have a father.

- Marilyn posts about her first sitting job with Norah Monroe.

- Maria e-mails Jackie, inquiring as to why he was so dressed up and wearing (too much) cologne at Nancy's party. Jackie fumbles while making his excuse, accidentaly dropping Haley's name in his reply. (The party was right before Jackie's date.)

Myriah and the Copy Cat - Myriah is annoyed that her little siblings copy her every move. - Buddy posts that Battle of the Bands is only a week away! They thought they had more time to get ready! With one member gone, this is gonna be close.

- At her party, Nancy meets Karen's boyfriend, Brody.

- One date was enough to convince Haley and Jackie that they should start a relationship. Both of them decide to tell Matt first, hoping he would take it well. They were sadly mistaken and Matt storms off angrily. They chase him, running into Haley's black bra (blush, blush, Jackie) and march into his room. Trying to comfort Haley, Jackie grabs her hand which sets off Matt. He throws his History textbook, hitting Jackie promptly on the face (but he was aiming for his torso!). Matt gets grounded, Jackie gets his thousandth bruise and is left questioning whether or not Haley is worth all this hassle.

- Matt posts to say he is grounded for a week and won't be getting online.

- Kyle announces that he has formed his team, the New Bashers, and they are getting ready to "Klobber the Krushers."

- Melody e-mails Maria about Amanda Delaney. Maria informs Melody that Amanda used to be the biggest snob ever and she hasn't changed a bit.

- Bryant is wondering about Initiation Day, the annual day set aside for the eighth graders to haze the sixth graders. No one will give away any hints as to when it will happen, and all the sixth graders are nervous, with the exceptation of Taylor, who thinks being extra nice to his sister would get him out of it.

- Karen decides to stay up for 24 hours on a school night.

- Bryant Phillips has a birthday!

- Charlotte posts a reminder for anyone who wishes to write for the SMS Express.

SEPTEMBER

- Maria Kilbourne and Amanda Delaney have an impromtu race during swim practice. Amanda brags about what a great swimmer she is, but when Maria beats her, Amanda is at a loss for words.

- Buddy Barrett's birthday!

- Jackie e-mails the group about a surprise party for Bryant, Dana, and Buddy who all happen to have birthdays that fall within the same week.

- Carolyn and Marilyn talk about Micah Monroe, the high school guy that Marilyn's crushing on. Carolyn also breaks the news to Marilyn that Haley and Jackie are officially a couple now. Marilyn can't hide her disappointment from her twin.

- Laurel Kuhn makes the girls' basketball team.

- Jake Kuhn makes the SMS football team.

- The sixth graders are officially initiated into SMS. Taylor DeWitt gets the worst of it when several eighth graders stuff whip cream down his pants, put gum on the soles of his shoes, and squirt mustard and ketchup in his hair. Bryant gets whipped cream in his hat, soda in his socks, gum on his soles, and gravy all over his shirt. Absolutely nothing happens to Laurel, since she is Jake's sister.

- Hannie backs out of going to Shadow Lake because of Battle of the Bands.

- Dana Cheplin's birthday!

- When Buddy goes over to Dana's house, Dana gives him a very nice record for this present. She got the record when she went to the record store with Kyle Taylor. Buddy is embarrassed for getting jealous when he had no reason to be. While he walks with Dana back to his house, he finally asks her if she'll be his girlfriend.

- The surprise party is held for Bryant, Buddy, and Dana. The three of them are fooled into thinking they are only coming for Firecracker practice. Before the party takes place, Taylor, Bryant and Jackie come up with another surprise for Dana and Buddy. To the horror of the couple, they are unexpectedly serenaded with "Kiss the Girl" from the Little Mermaid. What else can Buddy do? He kisses the girl! The rest of the party goes off with out a hitch. Well, almost. Dana can't find enough food that she can eat at the party...

Dana's Emergency - When Firecracker turns up for the big contest, they panic when they discover that they are missing their two singers. Hannie has laryngitis. Dana is in the hospital after a bad episode with her diabetes. (The junk food from the party is partially to blame.)

After Buddy realizes that Dana is going to be alright, he makes a decision on what to do for the band. He asks Lindsey to step in and sing. Jackie protests fervently. Lindsey is hesistant to step up to the challenge. But what choice do they have? Lindsey sings with the band and surprises everyone with her hidden talent. And Firecracker wins, beating out several popular high school bands! It is their shining moment.

Marilyn is in the audience, against her will. When she showed up to babysit Micah's little sister, there was no job. Micah set up the fake job so that he might ask Marilyn out. But to her dismay, he took her to Stamford to see Battle of the Bands. Jackie sees her in the crowd.

Linny congratulates Lindsey after BOTB. Taylor tries to tell his sister that he's proud of her, but she blows him off for Linny and hurts his feelings.

- David Michael, Karen, Margo, Matt, Melody, and Maria go to Shadow Lake. Nancy and Karen get lost in the woods. Margo and David Michael flirt with each other.

- Billy Dobson joins the board.

- Marilyn comes along when the Monroes and the Kilbournes have a family picnic. Micah is now dating Marilyn. Marilyn confides in Maria over how she's feeling about Jackie and Haley.

- Nicky makes a not-so-smooth move when he jokes about checking out other girls in an e-mail to Hannie. Hannie is not in the mood, and when she reads that, she sends him a rather snarky reply.

- Moira sends a snarky email to Bryant because she's offended over some comments he's made to her on the board. She's also offended that Bryant is doing several activities and says he has made himself busy on purpose to avoid responsibilities at home.

- Buddy visits Dana in the hospital.

- Laurel and Taylor have an uncomfortable moment when they are alone at their lunch table, waiting for their friends. Laurel tries to hide her dismay when Taylor tells her that Dana is now Buddy's girlfriend.

- During English class, Jackie gloats about Battle of the Bands in front of Marilyn. When Mr. Fiske leaves the room, students crowd around Jackie's desk to ask him about it. Jackie and Marilyn exchange words. Jackie accuses Marilyn of showing up with Micah to make him jealous. When the class clown starts making fun of Matt, Jackie and Marilyn suddenly join forces to defend their friend. As a result of standing up for Matt, they both get punished with extra homework.

- Matt reluctantly e-mails Jackie to thank him for standing up for him in class. Matt apologizes for throwing the book at Jackie and gives him a run-down of the rules that Jackie must follow to go out with Haley.

- Susie laments about gym.

- The Barrett/DeWitt kids find out that their parents are having another baby. (Buddy, Lindsey, and Taylor's initial reaction: "EWWWWWW!!!!!!") The baby is due around mid-April.

- Jackie helps Kyle Taylor with the Bashers at practice. Afterwards, Kyle e-mails Jackie to ask if he would like to be his assistant coach. Jackie accepts.

- Dana returns home from a short stay in the hospital, but she stays home from school for the rest of the week.

- Amanda invites Karen over for the weekend.

- Laurel's basketball team wins their scrimmage.

- Taylor makes an announcement about the new Barrett/DeWitt baby on the board.

- Taylor goes over to Bryant's house and causes major trouble by pouring salt and bleach on Steve the gecko's tail and making it come off! Moira is furious with her brother and Taylor. Bryant is mad at Taylor for getting him into trouble. The boys fight and Taylor storms out. Bryant tries to apologize, but Moira is too angry with him and too upset over what's happened to her pet so she won't accept Bryant's apology. Bryant blows up and calls Moira a nerd. For Moira, this is the last straw.

- Marilyn sits for Archie while Jackie's mom takes him to the doctor. During her job, she goes into Jackie's room and finds a journal that he has written in a few times. Much of what he's written is about their breakup. Shea comes home and catches Marilyn snooping. He promised not to tell Jackie about it. What Shea doesn't know is that Marilyn takes the diary home with her.

While Marilyn is sitting for his brother, Jackie is waiting at the doctor's office. He is recognized by Amanda Shenko, Lindsey and Taylor's mother, as someone who would know her kids. After a rocky past, Amanda is back in Stoneybrook, working as a secretary in a doctor's office. She wants badly to reconnect with her children. She charges an unwilling Jackie with the task of telling Lindsey and Taylor about her. Jackie doesn't know what to do.

- ASL II class ends.

- Bryant remarks that it's been three years since the 9/11 tragedy and reminds people to be mindful of the importance of this day.

- Karen visits the Delaney's new mansion.

- Jackie is grounded for making an inappropriate remark to his mother.

- Myriah asks for advice about a dilemma she's having in dance class. Her teacher has chosen what Myriah considers a risque costume for the upcoming recital. Myriah says she doesn't want be a pest, but she also doesn't want to be forced into wearing something that makes her uncomfortable. Her friends advice her to stand up for herself.

- Becca mentions that Stoneybrook Manor will need volunteers for their Halloween party. The Manor will be hosting the party for both their residents and for the children that will be in attendance.

- DM's New Krushers challenge Kyle's New Bashers to a game. The teams will face off for the first tme on Saturday, Septemeber 18th.

- Pamela steals Natalie's clothes and towel while she's showering in the locker room after gym, leaving her with nothing but a hand towel.

- Wanting to learn more about faith and religion, Maria asks on the board if anyone has an extra Bible she can borrow. Matt offers an extra Bible of Haley's and invites Maria to church with his family. Taylor insults both Maria and Laurel in his replies. Jake and Bryant both jump in to defend Laurel.

- Marilyn joins the cross-country team (as part of an unhealthy effort to drop two sizes and get down to a size three). Matt announces that they will both be running in the first meet on Saturday.

- Laurel and Bryant now sit at a table by themselves at lunch, thanks to the feud between Taylor and Bryant. Laurel and Bryant are becoming better friends as a result of this. Bryant asks Laurel to go to the Remember September dance. She is hesistant to say yes right away, but he begs her, and she finally accepts.

- Maria has a successful sitting job with Alison Lorenzen.

- Hannie apologizes to Nicky for snapping at him. The couple makes up and make plans for a date on the weekend.

- Billy, Moira, and Carolyn partner up for the upcoming science fair.

- Dru posts family pictures, including a rather scary shot of ~~Morbidda Destiny~~ her grandmother at Halloween.

- Lindsey's cast comes off.

- Maria asks her mother if she can go to church with the Braddocks on Sunday. Mrs. Kilbourne is surprised, but she allows Maria to visit.

- Matt places fifth out of over eighty runners in the boys' cross-country race. Marilyn, however, places among the last ten runners in the girls' race. Jackie is happy to see Marilyn fail miserably at something, and he rubs it in.

- New Krusher Todd Masters scores the winning homerun at the Krusher/Basher game. Big brother Derek is extremely proud. After the game, Kyle treats Betsy and her niece Zoe to icecream. "I am known, I guess, for being a practical joker," Betsy tells him. "But I am so much more than that." After mustering up some courage, Betsy asks Kyle to the Remember September dance. Kyle accepts, thrilled about going to the dance with this "mysterious stranger" and hanging out with all of hot SMS girls.

- Dana e-mails Buddy to say she might be late for Monday's band practice due to a checkup with her doctor. Her diabetes is especially frustrating for her lately.

- Maria visits the Braddocks' church.

- Talk Like A Pirate Day!

- Susie asks for advice about her little stepbrother who has been bratty and rude ever since his father and Susie's mother got married.

- Kellie the fashion-lover asks what kind of outfit she should wear to the Remember Septemeber dance. When Laurel comments that she plans to wear her regular clothes, Bryant and Kellie both suggest that Laurel dress up a little more. Laurel agrees to let Kellie fix her up for the dance.

- Myriah announces that her dance class dilemma has been resolved even better than she could have imagined! She got more support than she expected when she stood up for herself and complained about the costume. Instead of dancing with her team, Myriah gets partnered up with a fifteen-year-old boy who needs a petite girl to swing dance with!

- Jake is banned from the internet while he prepares for his Bar Mitzvah.

- Knowing that Betsy is still the reigning practical joke queen, Bryant e-mails her to ask if he can borrow her catalogues of gag items. Betsy offers him the catalogues and anything he needs out of her current stash.

- Natalie Springer asks about why people are mean to her, getting mixed reactions.

- Taylor begins what will become a huge Prank War. Tay sneaks into Bryant's locker before the big demo swim for SMS and leaves him a pink-dyed Speedo. Bryant is forced to wear it because Taylor takes the extras, which leaves him thoroughly mortified in front of the whole school and ends with lots of pink dye in the pool. Score: Taylor 1, Bryant 0

- Nicky asks Hannie to the Remember September dance.

- Rosie tells Marilyn that she wants Matt to ask her to the dance. Matt gets word of this from Haley who hears it from Carolyn. All he needed was a little shove.

- Bryant gets back at Taylor by sticking gum and maple syrup under an old hat of Taylor's and forcing it on him. This results in Taylor having to have his hair cut short, which he abhorrs. (Taylor 1, Bryant 1)

- SMS Express meeting: Charlotte assigns Taylor to photograph the Mathletes, while Bryant gets to photograph the cheerleaders.

- Matt interrupts a Mathletes meeting to ask Rosie to the Remember September dance in person.

- Dana asks her boyfriend Buddy to the Remember September dance by sending him on a creative scavenger hunt. At the end of the hunt, Buddy gets cookies that spell out the rest of the puzzle. (The bolded letters in the messages unscrambled to spell 'Remember September', and the cookies spelled 'dance'.)

- Mathew Hobart joins the boards.

- Karen calls Lindsey after she realizes she's slowly losing her best friends Hannie and Nancy. What will become of the Three Musketeers?

- First SMS football game of the season: SMS wins against New Hope (28-14)! Jake Kuhn plays very well. Lindsey DeWitt sings the national anthem. (Dana Cheplin is more than a little jealous, thinking that could have been her!)

- Jake and Laurel's dad is discovered to be in Stoneybrook. He surprises his kids by showing up early for Jake's big game and then spending the entire week before the big Bar Mitzvah in town.

- Maria Kilbourne reaches out to Susie Albion, knowing that their sisters are suitemates at Yale University.

Remember September:

- Laurel is made over by Kellie Garcia, which effectively stuns Bryant, Laurel's date. The two of them go and have an eventful slow dance in which Bryant begins to realize that he may be crushing on a new girl. The make-up (among other things) makes Laurel really uncomfortable so at Bry's suggestion, she takes it off, loosens up, and they enjoy the dance together.

- Kyle Taylor and Betsy Sobak go to the dance together, and Kyle hits on a few cute girls there.

- Taylor DeWitt has two dates, and he and Bryant get into a little confrontation at the dance.

SHS Fall Ball:

- Jackie arrives at the Braddocks' house to pick Haley up, sporting a new hairstyle; while waiting for Haley to get ready, Jackie accidentally reads Matt's personal journal and realizes that Matt's not anywhere near accepting Jackie's relationship with Haley. When he shows Matt's journal to Haley, she becomes upset with her Matt.

- At the dance, Jackie sees Marilyn and Micah Monroe dancing and gets jealous. He upsets Haley by obsessing over Marilyn and Micah. After Haley runs out, they talk and realize that they've only been using each other to make Shea and Marilyn jealous. They break up, citing that it's the best thing for everyone. Haley goes home early. Having compassion on Jackie, Shea talks with him and then the brothers go home early, too.

- Becca announces that she's caught the acting bug and would like to know the next opportunity to be in a play.

- Margo Pike writes up her job for Lucy Newton, asking, "How come nobody writes up their sitting jobs in here anymore?" The whole reason for starting the board in the first place was to write about jobs! Wasn't it? ((nope!))

- Karen calls Amanda Delaney and they make plans to go to the mall.

- Marilyn Arnold comes down with strep throat and has to miss two and a half days of school. Jackie is relieved that he doesn't have to deal with her right after breaking up with Haley.

- The three science fanatics (Moira, Billy Dobson, and Carolyn) have joined forces to make a project for the science fair. Everyone better watch out -- it's not just about the homemade volcanoes anymore.

- Taylor goes over to Mathew's house to brainstorm what he needs to do to Bryant. Mathew inadvertently suggests damaging Bryant's bass guitar, which Taylor loves.

- Taylor demands a better newspaper job from Charlotte, the editor. She sarcastically suggests a personals column like the one Claudia Kishi did years ago, but it backfires when Taylor becomes interested in the idea.

Taylor's Horrible Prank - Taylor cuts the strings on Bryant's bass guitar to pieces. (Taylor 2, Bryant 2) Bryant becomes extremely irate and even violent. Jackie and Lindsey come in to distract him, and Jackie accidentaly makes a comment about Lindsey and Taylor's mother, which thoroughly shakes Lindsey up. Taylor is a little confused about it too.

- Marilyn returns to school and tries to be nice to Jackie, but it doesn't work out.

- Susie e-mails Bryant, who e-mails Matt, who e-mails Jackie, all for different reasons (Susie wants to hang out with Bry, Bry is confused and needs advice from Matt, and Matt wants to clarify that he's cool with Jackie now that he and Haley are broken up).

OCTOBER

- Jake Kuhn's birthday!

- Jake Kuhn's Bar Mitzvah! MAZEL TOV!

- Since Jake is a man, it's time for Laurel to prepare to become a woman: she receives "the talk".

- Laurel congratulates her big brother in an e-mail about his speech at his Bar Mitzvah. When Jake replies, he reveals that their father is planning to move back to Stoneybrook and would like for the kids to live with him. Jake assures his little sister that their dad probably won't move back, but the kids are still skeptical.

3 - Halloween Fever begins to sweep Stoneybrook: Hannie asks what everyone's plans are. Taylor begins to brag about his birthday party, which will annoy the message board all month.

- Aunt Cecelia suffers a stroke. The entire message board sends Becca and her family their best wishes.

4 - Taylor begins to spread around flyers for Taylor's Personals, much to Charlotte and Mr. Kingbridge's chagrin. Taylor exchanges words with Bryant and Matt. Rosie considers using the Personals, which makes Matt jealous.

- Hannie confides in Maria about her problems with her older brother Linny and Karen.

- Karen, Brody (Karen's boyfriend) and Amanda take a trip to Washington Mall. While Karen is distracted, Amanda slips Brody her phone number.

5 - An interested Lindsey e-mails Kyle. Let's find out if likes attract...

- Carolyn posts about a sitting job and creates another opportunity for Jackie and Marilyn to exchange words. Just shut up and kiss!

- Becca e-mails Charlotte, asking about the Personals.

- Buddy inquires into what everyone is planning on doing for Halloween. Taylor and Bryant exchange words and Taylor declares that if Firecracker plays at his party, Bryant won't be invited.

- Dana and Buddy exchange cute love notes in class.

- The first edition of Taylor's Personals comes out!

- Moira e-mails Carolyn, questioning if Marilyn and Carolyn have ever been in a major fight, similar to her current situation with Bryant.

- Jackie tries out the Personals ... he has an interesting conversation with a girl who refers to herself as 'BellaNotte' ... could this mystery girl be the answer to Jackie's broken heart? ((No!))

- Derek posts about his sitting job with the Morales. He confesses that he's going to see the Wiggles at Madison Square Garden with them.

- Lindsey and Kyle go to see 'The Forgetten' - they kiss, but Lindsey isn't too impressed.

- Marilyn e-mails Maria, worried because Micah hasn't called her in awhile.

- Margo asks the board if anyone wants to see a movie with her; Laurel goes with her.

- Mathew e-mails a busy Taylor, who is being swamped with Personals.

- Myriah informs everyone about the progress of her dance recital, which is going good so far.

- Kyle tells Betsy that he isn't interested in a relationship, which leaves her heart-broken.

- Charlotte tells the message board to not bother her with Taylor's Personals, which is extremely popular.

- Pamela asks the message board if they actually trick-or-treat and dress up.

- Rosie writes a seemingly innocent post, telling the board to have their cameras ready on Halloween night for Natasha's costume. Taylor uses this post to hit on Rosie, which intensely bothers Matt. The two exchange words and somehow, Bryant gets into the mix. But this is only the beginning of Taylor's troubles with Matt.

- Karen e-mails Lindsey and the two plan a trip to Washington Mall.

- Lindsey and Matt exchange words on Laurel's post about her babysitting job with the Felders ((You aren't in NBSC yet, Laurel!)). It seems that Matt has a growing frustration with the DeWitts ...

- Carolyn posts a flyer for the Halloween Hop.

- Nicky posts about Halloween at the hectic Pike house.

- Taylor posts a picture of Rosie, which he "professionally" took. Matt gets even more annoyed, but Rosie seems to relish in the attention.

- Matt and Taylor exchange threatening instant messages to each other. Both of them are convinced they can beat the other up. Boys ...

- Rosie e-mails Matt, thanking him for watching out for her.

- Karen follows in Marilyn's footsteps except it's reversal. On a shopping trip with Lindsey, she dyes her hair brown!

- Becca updates everyone on Aunt Cecila's recovery.

- Susie e-mails Maria and they plan to visit their sisters at Yale.

- Maria informs everyone of the big SDS/SMS swim meet on the 15th.

- Being the devoted and loyal Red Sox fan that he is, Jackie is convinced that the Red Sox will come back to beat the Yankees, despite the fact that they're trailing the series 3-0.

- After watching the Yankees crush the Red Sox, Jackie, Jake and Matt have a boys' sleepover. Matt tells Jake that he should get a girlfriend, and it's revealed that Jackie still has a framed picture of Marilyn at his bedside.

- Dana innocently posts Halloween jokes. Taylor uses the post to brag about his birthday and typically, he exchanges words with Matt. Lindsey and Dana get into an argument over who's the better singer.

- Rosie posts cute pictures of Natasha.

- Marilyn posts about the upcoming cross-country meet. Somehow, Bryant and Taylor get into an argument. Bryant says something harsh about Taylor's biological mother, Amanda, which infuriates Taylor. Moira and Lindsey get into an argument about their brothers, but Bryant stops it before it gets out of hand.

- Bryant uses Taylor's own Personals against him - he sends in a Personal, posing as Taylor-obsessed Tracey. Taylor is flattered that he has a Personal dedicated to him and agrees to hook up with Tracey. However, the date ends up being a disaster, since Tracey is a little too obsessed with Taylor for his own liking.

- Natalie Springer informs the boards that she'll be posting again. She gets insulted by Taylor, Lindsey, Amanda, Bryant and Kyle. Poor girl. ((OOC - New player))

- Betsy posts about how she hates boys. Someone is still mourning Kyle ...

- Moira informs the message board that she'll be dressing up a referee for Halloween. Very appropriate, considering all the fighting that's been going on.

- Taylor posts invitations to his "birthday party", but Buddy and Lindsey quickly state that it's a Barrett/DeWitt Halloween party.

- Laurel e-mails Bryant, pleading with him to stop the ridiculous fighting with Taylor.

- Mathew e-mails Taylor, apologizing for not defending Taylor against Bryant. Taylor forgives Mathew and the two of them conspire the next prank - break into the Phillips's' house, steal Bryant's Playstation 2 memory card, and erase all the games on it.

- Rosie posts pictures of Natasha, and one of herself. This pleases Taylor very much.

- As he grows older, Nicky Pike asks the board that he will be going by 'Nick' from now on. Lindsey informs him that he'll have to do a lot more than change his name to be cool.

- Lindsey whines to everyone about Natalie's pregnancy.

- In Taylor and Bryant's sixth grade Writing class, their teacher (Mr. Dougherty) reads aloud an assignment (Your Favorite Halloween Memory) Taylor actually did. Taylor wrote about a memory with his biological mother, revealing his longing for his mother and his love for the Magic School Bus. Bryant apologizes for the comment he said about Taylor's mother. However, Taylor isn't the forgiving type ... he chooses the moment to whip out the memory card. Bryant finally breaks down, runs out of the school and heads to the cemetery.

- After school, Moira, Taylor and Laurel all head over to the Phillips', to see what happened to Bryant.

- Bryant runs to his father's grave, and stays there for a couple of hours. Susie walks by and tries to help him, but Bryant rejects her help. They walk back to Bryant's house in silence. When Bryant sees Moira, Taylor and Laurel waiting for him, he yells at them and locks himself in his room for the rest of the day.

- Nicky e-mails Hannie about Halloween' plans. Oops, I meant Nick!

- Miraculously, the Red Sox come back to win the American League series against the Yankees! Jackie makes fun of the Yankees and is convinced that the Red Sox only won the series because of him. ((And so does his player!))

- Myriah invites the message board to her dance recital next month.

- She also e-mails Taylor and Bryant, telling them not to fight at her recital. Taylor informs Myriah that he's worried about Bryant, who missed school that day and has barely left his room.

- Charlotte asks what people would like to see in the SMS Express. The answer obviously is, more of Taylor's Personals!

- At the Phillips', Moira and Bryant apologize to each other and fix his bass strings.

Stoneybrook University Cross-Country Meet:

- Determined to prove her worth on the cross-country team, Marilyn invites everyone she knew to the district meet. Unfortunately, Jackie shows up and Mar realizes she isn't nearly as capable as she claimed to be. Her obsessive diet finally takes its toll when she passes out during the race. Surprisingly, it is Jackie who comes to her rescue.

- The online threats between Matt and Taylor turn into the real deal. Taylor shows up after Matt's race (while the girls are running), eggs Matt on about Rosie, and Matt loses it. Jake arrives just in time to stop Matt from breaking Taylor's nose. Since Taylor has clearly lost the fight, he gets off easier. Matt, on the other hand, winds up with in-school suspension.

- Buddy polls the message board as to what Firecracker should dress up as for the Barrett/DeWitt's Halloween party. Scooby Doo wins with six votes, while the Smurfs and Peanuts gang come in second and third.

- Natalie asks the message board for help in math. Somehow, Taylor ends up insulting Natalie and Maria.

- Carolyn posts about the Halloween Hop and her mother's Haunted Basement.

- Margo invites Laurel over to a Halloween sleepover.

- Maria and Susie visit their sisters at Yale. On the way there, Susie confesses she has a crush on Jake.

- Kyle tells the message board that he's way too mature for trick-or-treating. He plans to spend Halloween Tping people's houses.

- Jake informs everyone that Matt has received a three-day suspension for his fight with Taylor and Laurel's grounded for the week for skipping school to see Bryant. Rosie feels guilty, while Taylor laments on he should have gotten Matt expelled.

- A bruised Taylor goes over the Phillips' to check on Bryant. After missing a week of school, Bryant is catching up on his homework. The two old friends apologize to each other for the pranks they pulled on each other. Taylor gives Bryant his memory with Bryant's old games on it and the two of them play together, as if they haven't been fighting for the past month.

- Kellie asks for advice for when she takes out her younger cousins trick-or-treating.

- Amanda e-mails Karen, inquiring about Karen being a brunette.

- Pamela asks a "hypothetical question" to get dating advice.

- Druscilla tells the board that she plans to dress up as Snow White for Halloween.

- At sixth grade lunch, Mathew and Bryant apologize to each other. Adam and Taylor come to join them and the Crew eats lunch together for the first time in a month and a half.

- During his in-school suspension, Matt manages to reach Jake online during Computer Programming. Matt asks if people are talking about the fight and Jake reluctantly tells Matt that people are calling him 'psycho'. Since the fight concerned Rosie, Jake tells Matt to talk about it with her.

- Derek asks for suggestions of an effective Halloween costume that'll disguise his identity.

- - Taylor suggests that rather than collecting for UNICEF, his friends should collect for his Halloween birthday. He's counting on someone giving him his coveted camera phone.

- Myriah and Taylor chat about Halloween costumes before their lunch. Jackie is in his gym class, playing dreaded volleyball. When Jackie runs out to the hallway to retrieve the volleyball, he knocks over Myriah. As he helps Myriah to her feet, she takes in a whiff of his cologne (he overstocks for gym) and admire his longish red hair ... and FALLS IN LUV. 28

- Jackie gloats about the Red Sox winning the World Series. In his own words, "If the Red Sox can win the World Series ... anything can happen! The Curse of the Walking Disaster can end!" But Lindsey doesn't see it happening. - Susie e-mails Bryant, to see how he's doing. Bryant thanks her for being there when he needed someone the most.

- Becca posts about a Halloween party at Stoneybrook Manor.

- After school, Matt gets teased by Grayson (the Alan Gray of the new generation) and his cronies. Bryant sticks up for Matt, but Matt doesn't thank him for his help. The scene intensifies his hatred for Taylor and SMS more.

Halloween Hop

- Jackie wins Best Costume award for dressing up as Danny Partridge.

- Taylor and Myriah go to the dance, dressed up JFK and Marilyn Monroe. She'd rather have Jackie for a date.

- The Arnolds' dress up as Dr. Suess' Thing One and Thing Two. Marilyn goes to the dance with Micah, who would rather be with his friends or at the high school party. Marilyn eventually gets tired of Micah's complaints and begs Carolyn to switch places. Carolyn reluctantly agrees to it, but she slips out her identity to Micah. An annoyed Micah confronts Marilyn and dumps her. Jackie witnessed the whole ordeal, but doesn't say anything to Marilyn, who seems relieved to have Micah out of her life.

- Maria posts about the All-Stoneybrook Dance, a dance held at the Community Center for all the seventh and eighth graders at Stoneybrook. The sixth graders cry discrimination.

- Before the Barrett/DeWitt party gets underway, Lindsey pokes around Taylor's presents. She stupidly decides to pocket some of his birthday money, but Taylor catches her. After Lindsey blackmails him, a frustrated Taylor storms up the stairs/ Bryant, who was in the garage for Firecracker practice, helps Taylor cook up a plan to get back at Lindsey ...

- At the party, Taylor and Bryant (both decked out in clown wigs) successfully pull the best prank of their lives ... Chia Pet Lindsey! The costume consists of tying up Lindsey in duct tape and rolling her around in the grass. Jackie takes much pleasure in this.

- ****

- Finally, the day comes - Happy Birthday to Taylor DeWitt! He undeservedly gets his coveted camera phone from his parents.

- Taylor e-mails Matt, gloating that Rosie was at his party.

- Marilyn reminds everyone of the Arnolds' Haunted Basement.

- Nicky posts a picture of his Halloween costume - he went as Harry Potter.

- Jake posts his sisters' Halloween costumes, but not his own. He also singles out Taylor for toilet-papering the Braddocks. Taylor and Bryant are quick to defend themselves, but they don't convince a stubborn Matt and Jake. In the comments, Laurel posts an embarrassing picture of Jake, who dressed up as a fairy for his football team's Halloween party.

- Matt posts a picture of Haley in the morning, which is a frightening thing. Taylor has the hots for her, but Matt reminds Taylor that Haley is his sister. He also tells the board that Haley is one of the ninth-grade Homecoming Princesses.

- Kyle gets grounded for toilet-papering the Barrett/DeWitts, but insists that he didn't TP them. Rather, he insinuates Taylor for Tping his own house to put the blame on Kyle. (Turns out that Kyle Tped the Barrett/DeWitts and the Braddocks, but it's much easier to blame Taylor and his Crew for it). Taylor and Kyle exchange words about who's a better ladies man, and Kyle bets that he can kiss every single girl on the message board.

- Taylor e-mails Kyle, accepting his bet! Taylor brags that he can get Haley Braddock to kiss him, and Kyle is determined to kiss all the SDS seniors. Each boy has to prove the kiss by snapping a picture of the kiss with their camera phone. The big Kissing Bet begins!
