Justice #21 - The All-New, All-Different Young Justice - What the--?!
July, 2000.
Peter David, Todd Nauck, Sunny Lee, and Lary Stucker
Price: $2.50 US, $3.95 CAN
Synopsis: At the beginning, we see half of the new Young Justice
beaten up. The remaining members of the team are facing the Witch Boy.
The rest of the comic describes what happened earlier. During the regular
Young Justice’s vacation, Wonder Girl is on the phone with Arrowette. Arrowette’s
mother is going to take her somewhere, and she decides that she will go.
In Gotham City, Lobo faces the Witch Boy. The magic used by the Witch Boy
gets the new Young Justice’s attention and they immediately fly over to
Gotham City. CM3 ends up in a battle with Lobo, and the other members are
left to take on the Witch Boy and his gargoyle. At Arrowette’s school,
Arrowette’s mother picks Arrowette up. Back in Gotham City, the battle
continues, and Batgirl finally shows up. At the Australia Games Qualifying
Archery Finals, we find out that Arrowette’s mother wants her to represent
her country. Arrowette is reluctant at first, but then changes her mind
when some girls starts making fun of her and her mother. In Gotham City,
Young Justice is about to defeat the Witch Boy, but Batgirl stops them
since she thinks they are harming a young child. They let her in on what’s
going on, but it’s too late. Things go wrong, and we get to the point where
the comic begins. Batgirl then proceeds to give the Witch Boy the beating
of his life. While this is going on, Lobo tackles Flamebird, but the fight
stops when she persuades him to accept his predicament of being turned
into a teenager. Before he leaves, Lobo knocks out the Witch Boy and gives
Flamebird a big, wet kiss. She’s now his “hot flamin’ babe!” After the
battle, the Witch Boy meets a little girl called Supergirl, and she wants
to be his friend. “Kill me now.”
