Young
Justice #20 - Hey, Young Justice! Look Out for Li’l Lobo!
June, 2000.
Peter David, Todd Nauck, and Lary Stucker
Price: $2.50 US, $3.95 CAN
Synopsis: The story opens with images of armies heading towards
the Agenda headquarters. Then, we are taken directly to the HQ, where many
superheroes are capturing members of Agenda. Wonder Girl has a little chat
with the saddened Superboy, followed by some Li’l Lobo action as he takes
on the Witch Boy at a theatre. Next, there is a hilarious sequence where
Young Justice is trying to figure out what the older superheroes are doing,
and Impulse tries to use his ‘amazing’ lip-reading skills to eavesdrop
on a conversation between some of the more important heroes. At a family
court file room, a masked female burns a file on King Jones. Back at the
Agenda HQ, there is a meeting between the groups involved in taking out
the Agenda. The main debates are regarding Young Justice, Secret, and Arrowette.
During the meeting, Arrowette’s mother shows up at her school for a little
chat. This is followed by Robin telling Batman that he will reveal his
identity to his teammates. We get a glimpse of Li’l Lobo before we are
introduced to the new Young Justice that will take the place of the regular
one while it is taking a little break. It is here that we find out Batgirl
is on the team. At the end of the comic, Wonder Girl shows up with a new
look, Robin reveals his true face, and Impulse can’t believe Robin’s name
is really Timmy Drake.
