Synopsis: At the beginning of this comic, we see a man called
Sanchez taking on a group of punks who call themselves the Jets. The Jets
are trying to take Sanchez’s territory, and he won’t back down. As Sanchez
is getting the stuffing beat out of him, Batgirl shows up and saves him.
The punks run away, and Batgirl walks into Sanchez’s gas station, which
is the location she is supposed to secure. Later, in Oracle’s apartment,
Batman is very confident in Batgirl, which brings us to a flashback. Cassandra
was very eager to prove herself to Batman and make him proud, so she took
the mission of securing the station to get gas. Back at the station, Sanchez
tells Batgirl about his secret stash of gas, and then she goes off to survey
the area. She then finds that the Jets have acquired a rocket launcher
and are planning to use it on the station. Sanchez is lured into the street
by the Jets and they threaten to blow up his station. Batgirl shows up
and starts beating up the Jets. One of the Jets go to get gas, but finds
out that there is none. The lead Jet ends up firing a missile, and Batgirl
just barely saves Sanchez and the Jet who was trying to get gas. The station
is blown to bits, and Batgirl beats the Jets up in a fit of rage. Right
before she kills their leader, Sanchez stops her, telling her that he understands
she feels she has failed, but tells her that if she killed the punk, she
will be at their level. So, she stops herself and Batman arrives. Right
at the end of the comic, Sanchez gives Batgirl the gas he had hidden in
the hot dog stand.
