Price: $2.50 US, $3.95 CAN
Synopsis: The comics opens with a horrible scene - a gun pointed
at an unconscious Batgirl’s head. She begins to wake up and goes over what
has just happened in her mind. She then gets up and starts beating up the
thugs who wanted to kill her. As she is fighting, her mind wanders, and
we see her disappointment at the fact that she can no longer fight at her
usual speed. After wiping the floor with the thugs, we are taken to Bruce
Wayne’s private plane, where he is on the phone with Tim Drake. Tim has
looked into the man Batgirl had killed as a youngster. The files on the
murder states that the man had suffered massive neck trauma. The autopsy
report was missing, though. Tim finally asks if the case has anything to
do with Batgirl, and Bruce ignores the question. Later in Macau, China,
Batman digs up the murdered man’s grave. Back in Gotham, Batgirl returns
home and Oracle is surprised to see her face bruised up. Batgirl attempts
and is partially successful in explaining to Barbara that she now understands
English, which Barbara is very surprised at. But, Batgirl soon has to leave.
She asks Oracle to fix the Metahuman tracking device she had, and is then
off to find the psychic. In Macau, Batman pays Cain a visit. He is reluctant
to believe that Cassandra had killed a man, even though Cain confirms that
she had. Batman insists that Cain had faked the videos he had, which Cain
find amusing. Before Batman leaves, Cain tells him that assassins have
been pouring into Gotham to kill the psychic. In a Gotham sewer, the woman
assassin who beat Batgirl up in the previous issue is threatening to kill
the psychic if he does not remove some memories from her mind. Obviously,
there is great pain in her heart. The psychic tries, but is unsuccessful,
telling the assassin that her mind will not let him. Just as she is about
to shoot him, Batgirl appears and punches the assassin out. Then, she asks
the psychic to revert her to her original self. Unfortunately, the psychic
explains, he cannot reverse the things he does to people. Suddenly, Batman
appears. All Hell is about to break loose!
