Synopsis: The comic begins right away with some great action.
During the excitement, we hear read about why Batman was impressed with
Batgirl. In the Batcave, Batman shows Alfred the tape he received of a
young Batgirl killing a mob leader in Macau, China. At Barbara’s apartment,
Barbara is on the phone with Dick Grayson. She feels that she still doesn’t
know Batgirl any better than when they first met. Back in the Batcave,
Alfred suggests that the tape is a fake, and Batman begins to investigate
that immediately. As Batgirl patrols the streets of Gotham City, she find
some men in black suits shooting at a man. She beats up the men and confronts
the man they were shooting at. The man says a few strange things and then
touches Batgirl’s head. Suddenly, we see into Batgirl’s mind, and we watch
as the man changes her understanding of body language into an understanding
of English. And now, she can speak in her mind! In the Batcave, Batman
and Alfred find that the probability of the tape being a fake is very high.
Batman then decides to go to Macau to solve the mystery. Back on the streets,
the man tells Batgirl about his just-acquired psychic abilities. Batgirl
is very happy to finally be able to hear her own thoughts. Suddenly, a
woman appears and wants to kill the man. Batgirl goes to fight her, but
can’t read her body language. The woman easily knocks Batgirl down, leaving
her to think “What is... happening to me...?” before passing out.
