Azrael:
Agent of the Bat #56 - Alongside the New Batgirl! (No Man’s Land)

Synopsis: The comic starts with a Western scene, which turns
out to be a dream Azrael is having. He wakes up, and we see that he is
in a hospital-type place with Dr. Thompkins. Outside, a thug shoots a cop.
The catch here is that there hasn’t been a bullet in Gotham City for weeks.
After the shooting, Batgirl appears and knocks the thug out. Then, she
brings the cop to Azrael and the doctor. Azrael wants to go to the scene
of the crime, so they go. The thug from before confronts Batgirl and is
knocked out again. Back at the hospital, Batman tells Azrael to get Nicholas
Scratch, the guy who might have given the thug the bullet. Batgirl will
be his backup. Dr. Thompkins tells Azrael to bring back any supplies Scratch
has and to try and do things without hurting anyone. Jean Paul (no costume)
and Batgirl go off to find Scratch and end up at Scratch’s headquarters.
Jean Paul listens to a speech given by Scratch about taking back Gotham,
and then eventually taking over the world, through violence. The thug from
earlier on recognizes Jean Paul as weapons are being handed out, so Jean
Paul makes a run for it. Unfortunately, Scratch gets to him before he can
get away.
