Erik's Poetry

Lady Rose

Lady Rose, your eyes so bright,
A star shines for you tonight,
The ocean murmers and whispers your name,
It awakens in me a powerful flame.
A vision of you in the sky arose,
It was quite a sight, such beautiful prose,
Yes, a living image of poetry you were,
You spoke to me with a voice so clear,
Your angelic appearance made me forget my fear.
You spoke of love, life, and what is right,
You spellbound me that very night.
You shared your thoughts and heart with me,
Though mortal you are, I can see your divinity.

Hope

In my thoughts and in my heart,
Stronger are our bonds when we're apart.
Restless is the soul that finds no love,
Or peace, by the olive branch and dove.
Seeking truth, the humans rest shall find,
Peace will flourish, so will peace of mind.
Troubled are the ones that live with hate,
But rest asure, it is never too late,
To build a future where fear does not rule,
Where earth is free from the actions of the cruel.
In your thoughts and in your heart,
See good and bad but tell them apart.

Humans

From the mountain arched and tall,
Each and everyone can fall.
To the deepest, darkest place below,
Where nothing can live or grow.
Soon you will have reached the underground.
Sight of evil and scent of death,
You feel worse with every breath.
Hounded by the sounds from hell,
You are scared and they can tell.
Here you are, a tormented soul,
Locked away in a pitless hole.
The war that ravages a land,
The blood stains on your hand.
All of us can visit this place,
For it is the psyche of the human race.

Whispers

The wind whispers words of despair,
It mourns for you are not here.
You put on me an enchanted spell,
Now, my life without you is hell.
The way your eyes burn into my soul,
They are as deep as a pitless hole.
Now the angels weep, for you are not forgotten,
Without you, the world feels so rotten.
As the dark night falls upon me,
I yearn to touch you, feel you,
You make me feel so free.
And if I chose to do everything for you,
It is simply because I adore you.
I would ask you to be my muse,
I pray that you will not refuse.
The stars above shine so bright,
As I think of you tonight.

Sunrise

Sunrise greets me so cheerfully,
With warm rays stretching out endlessly.
Every day I watch the sun arive,
Ever so slowly I come alive.
The time has come to work and strive.

Days go slowly when I think of you,
Always wishing my dreams will come true.
In my dreams and thoughts we are as one,
So we together may greet the sun.
You can hide from my love but never run.

Northern Winds

Northern winds, I hear it scream your name,
Mighty archer, who the bow could tame.
Fought in battles, brave and bold.
His life through suffering was told.
Never had he time to fear,
For in his thoughts his forefathers were there.
Though dead and gone they whispered his name.
Northern winds blow your way again.

Travel he did, through the icy cold land,
And soon he reached the sea and the sand.
He seeked someone he had not seen for years.
The thought of his fair lady brought him to tears.
He left for a house not far from the shore,
Not quite sure what he was looking for.
He arrived the house, but it lay burnt to the ground.
No fair lady in sight, only a burial mound.
No brave deed could have undone this,
Nor a warriors bow bring back the bliss.
Nevermore will he feel her love, her tender kiss.
With her life was bright, now it is gray.
Let the northern winds carry her spirit away.
