Single photograph from Agva
Thanks for all those who take time to write comments about this image.
I myself was also surprized by the result!
The image came with the help of some playing and chance.
I almost always use ILFORD 100 transparency. Nikon F70, 35-135 Nikkor AF Lens,
except for macro's which I use 60mm dedicated lens. Film was processed
regularly.
Shot was taken early morning in Agva river (means aqua) at Black sea region.
The shot was bracketed for +/-(2/3) I used the middle one although the other 2
gave me the inspiration to what I should do to make a better picture.
The sky was nice in the darker image pale in the middle one and burned in the
lighter one,
and the dark areas was nice in the lighter image.
I decided to use the middle image but not to use it as is. I played with curves
to darken the sky and other light areas, and lighten the dark areas. Each region
looked like the bracket frame where it was captured best. The middle tones where
left as is.
It is hard to use a low speed like Velvia at early morning. Finally I increased
saturation of the result image (+10) slightly, to achieve a velvia like effect.
Feel free to distribute the image, but do not modify.
