Big Like Me
(((taken from BigLikeMe's Website)))

big like me was formed in the late fall of 2001 when jason allen ludtke was in search of a new outlet for his musical urges. bored with the same ol' same ol' run of the mill rock bands, he decided to start his own. so, with nothing but optimism backing him, he went out and purchased a music sequencer and quickly started on what would soon become big like me. after a few months of tinkering around with sounds and putting some quirky in february of 2002, he opened for local kenosha bands (and good friends) a single second and hello mcfly (r.i.p.). after a few more months and a few more shows, his sequenced beats and frantic dance moves had won over the hearts of the local scene.

in august of 2002, he started recording his first solo ep, "a revolution in terms," which was released on local record label, big as kelly records, in october of 2002. as the year came to a close, big like me found himself playing shows all around the southeastern wisconsin area, bringing the sounds of his self proclaimed "robot core" to the masses.

with the beginning of 2003 came a new found inspiration and a new outlook on music for big like me. the sequences continued, and with the crowds dancing to his electronic anthems, jason soon found himself in search of that extra something that was missing. enter rachael marie brulport. a soprano in her school choir, she was an obvious choice to fill the spot of female vocalist. during the summer of 2003 jason and rachael joined forces and started writing and recording new material together.

in july of 2003, big like me began performing with the current lineup of jason on vocals and sequencer and rachael on backing vocals. pumping the dance floor with the electronic beats, duel male/female vocals and those catchy melancholy melodies, big like me was well received.

as the year continues, big like me finds themselves more active and productive than ever before, writing and recording new material all the time. the future can only hold good things for big like me as they set out to give the world their version of midwestern electronic/indie/dance. hope you enjoy.
