| Rabalder came to us in July 2002, he was only 8 weeks old. We had talked a time about getting an animal, and I saw a ad in the newspaper that said ferrets for sale. We called the breeder and went to look on a Friday. When we saw Rabalder, he just connected to us in a special way. He placed his teeth in our fingers. It was like he was saying.."hey u human...I will own you you see u cant go away without me!" So we went home, with the cutest baby. We should not have any more ferrets, but...one week later he got a friend, a girlfriend...So two small ferrets turned their human lives upside down. Rabalder melted our heart, and was the most cuddly thing you can imagine. He liked to sleep on the couch or see TV together with his dad. And he loved to play outside the house. We let him play when we were outside. He was a curious little man, and he loved to play under the porch it was a place to dig in the soil. His curiosity made us laugh a hundred times. One time we remember well is the one time he fell down in the bag of coal. He and the little girl fell down at the same time, We picked him up and a little boy said "Now we have to give Rebella a bath!" Rabalder looked up it was like he was saying.."hey u little human get some glazez..im a boy zee I'm no little girl I'm BIG! They are some strange animals, and clever...real clever...they know how to melt hearts. They know how to look at u and just say "pweeeees"! You see this Christmas they bought their own presents. We went to the pet store all of us and the ferrets looked at the toys and just looked at us and said "pweeees" so they got some great gifts... and they got them self a cage this way too...just with the looks and the "pweeeees". Rabalder was a cuddly kind ferret, he never bit. He has been skiing in Drammen. He has fell a sleep during a ferret show in the arms of a strange judge! He likes to play with dogs, and love humans. It might have been that which killed him. That and his curiosity. One day he was out in our living room playing, he noticed the door to the outside was open and he wanted to take a walk outside. He did not tell anyone where he was going so we did not know were to look. We started inside turning the place upside down, but no he was not inside. We took the other ferrets outside to have a look, no sign of him, we made flyers, we contacted the newspaper, we tried to get it on the radio, but they did not say anything about it, had a rule that said no missing animal massages on the radio. We went on walking every night hoping to see him. Every night, no one had seen him. After 12 days we got him back, in a plastic bag, he was killed by a dog three days after he got out of the house. He had been in a fridge for 9 days while we were worried about him and out looking. We even had a search party for him without any luck. Now we have one ferret to little, even if it is 5 in our house now, and it were 3 in our house before he got away. We will always be one too little in the house. We misses our highly loved Rabalder "Lurkepus" |
