| Kaarina is my poley girl, dark sable, 3 yrs. old and absolutely beautiful. (ok, I�m biased) she vanished from the ferret room in my house on Sunday, March 23rd, 2003. I went to the grocery store and stupidly left the door unlocked (small town) later that night I realized that I hadn�t seen her when I gave the kids gravy that evening. So it started��.I tore the whole house apart, moved all the appliances, ripped up what was left of my couch and chair, flung spare bedding all over, I looked everywhere! Then I started on looking outside, I found no sign at all, no poop, no holes in the flower garden, no footprints, nothing. I put up signs, contacted neighbors and enlisted a search crew of kids for the next day after school. The kids came and we started going thru the lots and houses. Nobody had seen anything, no dogs had been acting weird, nothing missing. The kids went home at dark and I kept looking. I put out a cage with food, water and bedding, I prayed and most of all, I cried. This is Thursday, 5:00 pm, when I got home from work my neighbor on the west side came over and asked if I wanted my ferret back. Silly, silly man she was in his garage, under the false floor in the workshop. He said she came right out when he went in the shop, wasn�t there earlier. At any rate, she�s home now and Mom will be keeping the house locked up tight. I�ll bet there�s a kid around here with one hell of a bite from her, well deserved too. Hope you get lots more happy stories from people, I thank God that I have her back. |
