Please tell us briefly about the band and the brutal line up |
Well, IMMERSED IN
BLOOD emerged from the remnants of the Swedish
Death metal band INVERTED in October 1998.
Joel Andersson(that's me!)(bass) and Johan Ohlsson
(guitar) decided to continue to play together but
in an even more brutal direction. Vocalist Stefan
Lundberg (also ex-INVERTED member) and drummer
Jocke Unger decided to get immersed in blood in
December 1998. The death-roll was completed when
Robert Tyborn Axt (guitar) joined the band in
February 1999.
We played our debut gig in March 1999 and only two
months later, in May 1999, we recorded our debut
demo entitled "Eine Kleine Deathmusik", featuring
four tracks of brutal bloody Death Metal. This
demo was released in August 1999.
In November and December 1999 we went to Germany
and played some gigs after which they started to
write new songs. Two of them was recorded in May
2000. These two songs was released on a 3-way
split CD called "Sweets For My Sweet Chapter 1"
(split with CONFESSIONS OF OBSCURITY and OUTCAST),
along with the "Eine Kleine Deathmusik" demo. It
was released by LOWLIFE RECORDS in late 2000.
At the end of January 2001 we entered Studiomega
to record 5 new songs and a cover, "We Have
Arrived" (a Dark Angel song for a tribute album,
which will be released by ARCTIC MUSIC GROUP).
These 5 songs was released as a MCD entitled
"Relentless Retaliation" on DOWNFALL RECORDS in
late September 2001.
In January 2002 IMMERSED IN BLOOD signed a deal
with ARCTIC MUSIC GROUP.
IMMERSED IN BLOOD once again went to Germany in
March 2002 and played with IMPURE, RESURRECTED and
JACK SLATER.
In May 2002 we went to Finland for a mini tour
with DEEPRED(Fin) and EMBEDDED(Ger).
And in June 2002 we entered Studiomega again to
record our upcoming debut full length album. The
album will be called "Killing Season". Don't know
the release date at the moment!

Well because we wanted to play more brutal and faster music than what INVERTED did...

MOstly we have the music first and then we find a lyric for the music so it fits...

bands are influencing Immersed In Blood the most
? what are your top 5 favorite bands ( Old and
current bands ). |
The most influencial band is definitely SUFFOCATION! They are the gods! Then there is tons of good bands out there so you get influenced all the time! My top 5 bands at the moment is SUFFOCATION(gods!!!), GORGASM, DISAVOWED, COMMIT SUICIDE and DARK ANGEL!!!

Yes, work, and school! Two of us are working and the rest is studying!

bands ˇ§ ? Do have relationship with some black
death bands ?

Some are good, some sucks big time...I don't have that good relationship with Swedish black metal bands!

you have to choose, which one do you prefer,
ENTOMBED or DISMEMBER ? why ? |
Hmmm...I don't know?! It all depends if I have to choose them even if they suck today or only the good old days...if it's only good old days I'll choose ENTOMBED! Why? Because it was the heavy!

I've listening to GORGASM, COMMIT SUICIDE, SEVERED SAVIOR, LUST OF DECAY, SUFFOCATION and DISAVOWED!

into some Nu Metal bands like Slipknot, Soulfly,
Korn, Limp Bizkit, Static X, Deftones, etc. Do
you consider them as Metal ? please explain..... |
Well I listen to
SLIPKNOT (not the latest album) and SYSTEM OF A
DOWN!
But the others...no! Sorry! I prefer ABBA and
TANGERINE DREAM before bands like LIMP BIZKIT,
DEFTONES etc...
If they are metal? Well, I don't know...maybe
yeah...maybe thats why it's called Nu Metal? Only
good thing about nu metal is that they have heavy
and aggressive stuff!

DEATH METAL...it's
the only music that can be very brutal! It's heavy
stuff! Not for the weak! Fucking cool music!!! I
love it! The more brutal and faster it is...I love
it!
BLACK METAL...evil music! Sometimes too melodic!
Not really my cup of tea!
Posers...well, they can leave the hall!

us about your most brutally sick gig(s) ? why ?

The most brutal and
sick gig was in June 2000 when we played at our
hometown in Gothenburg...the audience was really
sick! The headbanged like hell and gave us relly
cool response! But the best gig so far for me was
in March 2002 at Wermelskirchen in Germany with
IMPURE, RESURRECTED & JACK SLATER!!! Everything
from this gig was great!
The stage, sound everything! Thanx to IMPURE for
that gig!

NO, not really! I'm more into Hong Kong action movies! It's brutal!!!!
