So far I have sent the following letter to both the President, and the Vice President of the United States. I have also sent similiar letters to House Representatives of Colorado. Diana DeGette, Scott McInnis, Bob Schaffer, Tom Tancredo, & Marc Udall. When I get replies, I will post those as well.
What is being done to determine the fate of Col. Leo S. Boston USAF, who was last seen flying a rescue mission over N. Vietnam April 29th 1966.
He was on the MIA list for twelve years before his status was changed to presumed dead. Doesn't his devotion to his country award him the privildge and honour of being buried in his own homeland soil if he is in fact deceased?
Should by any miracle Col. Boston remain alive, should he be left behind in a foreign country knowing his own country abandon him? Do his family and loved ones not deserve to know the fate of their son, borther, friend and loved one, nor be allowed to put a closure to this after thirty-four years?
Please advise me of any action that is being taken by you or any other elected or appointed official to determine his fate. IN the event there is nothing being done, please explain why not, and tell me how you personally plan to correct this and prevent it from happening again.
As of Jan. 2002 I have sent several variations on the above letter, with not one single reply. I did send a letter regarding the flying of the POW/MIA flag at rest areas within the state of Colorado and got a very nice response, so we'll see. ON a good note, my Post office recently started flying the flag after being bombarded with letters I assume.
