All he could think about was
I'm too young for this
Got my whole life ahead
Hell, I'm just a kid myself
How'm I gonna raise one?

Can I talk to you? She asked in a small voice.

He took her by the hand and could see she was shaking. Are you ok?

She didnt know how to tell him.  There were tears in her eyes as they sat down on his front porch. No. We have a problem.

What? He knew this would not end good. When a girl friend started a conversion with we have a problem it never ended good.  When she finished he was stunned.
How could this be happening? He got up and walked back into the house. As he drooped down on the bed his twin brother looked at him worriedly.

Benj whats wrong?

Shes pregnant. He could not believe those words were coming out of his mouth. He got her pregnant.  I cant do this Joel. How can I raise a kid? I am only 17. Fuck I mean she is 16. Her dad is gonna freak.

Ok Benji that is not a very funny joke. There was no way this could be happening.

Do I look like I am joking?!

Joels jaw dropped open. Her dad is going to kill her then he will kill you.

She already told Josh. She had to so he would let her come over here. I dont think he is going to kill me though.

You hope. Benj, you of all people know his temper.

He looked down. This is all just a bad dream.

How did he take it? Josh asked looking at her.

He walked in to the house. Didnt say anything. She looked out the window. They had really messed up this time.
What if he leaves me? I know I cant make it through this on my own. She wiped her eyes as she played with her cell phone. Please call me. She thought. I cant do this without you.

All he could see were his dreams
Goin' up in smoke
So much for ditchin' this town
And hangin' out on the coast
Oh well, those plans are long gone.
And he said,

He reached for his cell phone.
I dont know what to do. I should be there when she tells her dad. Opening the cell he brought up her number. He slammed it closed. All the dreams I had how can I do all of it now? Ill have a kid to take care of soon. Looks like the only thing that hasnt changed is marrying her and having a family. He lifted the cell phone again. He knew this was just as hard on her as it was on him.

She heard the car pull into the driveway. This was the one thing she really didnt want to do. Her dad was going to make it so she never saw him again. She heard her cell phone ringing on the bed and picked it up. Letting out a sigh of relief she answered it. Hi Benj.

I love you.

She smiled. I love you too.

Have you told him yet? He was scared to hear the answer.

No he just got home. I am about to.

I am leaving my place now. I will be there as soon as I can. Wait till then ok?

Yeah.

See you in a few.

Ok. She let out another sigh. He was coming to help her. Maybe this would all work out.
Most guys would freak out. He is taking this pretty well. I mean I did just tell him that all his plans are not going to happen now.

''There goes my life
There goes my future
My everything
Might as well kiss it all good bye
There goes my life.''

Her dad threw his glass across the room making her jump. Youre what?! Benji put his arm around her. Look at what you did you little punk! You have now single handedly screwed up my little girl's life! And you you little slut how did you let

Dad! Josh jumped in before his father could say anything more. She is a kid. They messed up and they both know it. You should be thankful Benji is sticking. A lot of guys would run if they had this happen.

Josh stay out of this! Their dad snapped at him. You little Miss Ill sleep with whatever walks in get the hell out of my house! I dont want you here anymore!

Josh jumped back. Dad you cant! She is only 16!

Its ok.  She whispered. Ill be fine. Taking Benjis hand she led him upstairs to help her pack.

You cant kick her out. Dad come on she is you little girl.

Their dad turned to his son. That is where you are wrong. The day she slept with him she was not my little girl anymore. She is out of here.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

My mom was mad but shit, she said that she would help us.

Benj Baby your mom is a wonderful woman. I knew my dad was going to freak I just didnt think he would kick me out. She sighed throwing more clothes into a bag. I will have Josh bring some other stuff as I want or need it. Lets just go.

Benji pulled her into is arms. We will make this work. He smiled and laughed. If anyone can we can.

She smiled and hugged him.

A couple years of up all night
And a few thousand diapers later
That mistake he thought he made
Covers up the refrigerator.
Oh yeah, he loves that little girl.

Happy birthday baby girl. Benji kissed his daughter on the head. Two years ago he thought it was the biggest mistake of his life. Since the moment she was born he had loved her. This little girl was no longer a mistake. She was her parents life.  He loved her more then everything in the world expects her mother. How old are you again? Five?

No daddy. The little girl giggled. I two.

Oh yeah thats right. Two. How could I have forgotten? He looked up at his new wife. She was laughing. Whats so funny?

Nothing Benj. Just remembering what we were doing a little over two years ago.

Witch thing? Moving you into my house or planing for this little brat?

I not! The little voice said.

All of it babe.

You know what? It is your dads problem that he doesnt come see her.

Yeah I know. At least Josh comes.

And Joel and my mom. Benji smiled and pick up his little girl and walked over to the refrigerator. Ok Britt. Who is this? He asked pointing to a picture of her and Josh.

Unky Josh.

Yup. Whose brother is he?

Mommy.

Wow you are a smart little girl. Are you sure you are not five?

Wes daddy.

Ok I just have to check. He smiled as she giggled in his arms.

Mamas waitin' to tuck her in
As she fumbles up those stairs
She smile back at him
Draggin' that teddy bear
Sleep tight
Blue Eyes and bouncin' curls.
And he smiles

Britt, come on honey. It is time for bed. She said from her daughters bedroom.

Benji watched as the little girl tried her best to get up the stairs. You want some help baby girl?

No.

He smiled as she finally reached the top. Her eyes were shinning back at him. Good night baby. She pouted at him. Whats wrong?

No hug.

Oh. Benji walked up to where she was trying to stand. He bent down and picked her up. Better?

Uh huh. She smiled and put her little arms around his neck as he carried her to her room.

There goes my life
There goes my future
My everything
I love you, daddy good night
There goes my life.

He put her down at the door and let her walk to the bed. How could he ever have thought this little girl would ruin his life? She had become his life. Everything he did was for her and her mother. It was not the life he dreamed of but now it was the life he was glad to be living. One day she was going to get married and have a family of her own. He just hoped that she wouldnt have to go through what they did. Deep down he knew that would never happen. There was no way in hell he would ever kick her out of the house.

Love you daddy. She smiled from the bed.

I love you too. Good night.

Nite.

He watched as she curled up in her bed and fell asleep.  How did we ever make it through this? He asked putting his arms around his wife.

We love each other. And we love her. Like you said Benj. We can make it we have made it. She smiled as he kissed her. I love you.

I love you too. How can someone so small make our lives change so much?

Because she is our daughter. She is everything to us. We would have had her at some point she just came a little earlier then we planed."

Yeah.

She has that Honda loaded down
With that Abercrombie clothes
Fifteen pairs of shoes
And his American Express
He checked the oil, slammed the hood
And said, ''You're good to go.''
She hugged 'em both
And headed off to the West Coast.
And he cried

He had worked on cars with his dad. Now he was making sure that this car would get his little girl to California.  She was not so little any more though. How many more bags are you going to try to fit in there?

Oh dad. There is not that many.

Ok. You be careful ok?

I will. She hugged him. Im a big girl now.

I know. If you nee anything

I know daddy. She kissed his cheek then she walked back in the house.

18 years later and I still have no regrets. I still love her more then anything in the world. She came back out with her mother. Call us when you get there.

Benj, we raised a good kid. She will call.

He put his arm around his wife then reached for his wallet.  Here baby girl. Pulling out a credit card he handed it to her.

You dont have to give me this daddy.

I know but I want to.

There goes my life
There goes my future
My everything
I love you
Baby, good bye.

After everything we went through shes all grown up Benj. It is so amazing when you think about it.

I know baby.  It is going to be weird without that little girl running around. He looked around the house remembering all the times his daughter had run around.

Yeah.

Never thought I would be saying that when I was in my 30s. She laughed. I didnt. I think we did a pretty good job if I do say so myself.

Yeah. We sure did. Thanks Benj.

For what?

Being with me all these years and not leaving.

I love you. There is nothing to thank me for.

I love you too... They both smiled and watch as their little girl drove down the driveway.

There goes my life.

There goes my life.

Baby, good bye.
Baby, good bye.

There goes my life...
The End
